The Re-Declaration of Independence of The Free and Independent States of America

The unanimous Declaration of Sovereign Americans of the Fifty united States of America,

As previously determined and proved, in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. – THAT TO SECURE THESE RIGHTS, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED, -- That whenever ANY Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to ALTER or to ABOLISH it, and to institute NEW Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should NOT be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a LONG TRAIN of ABUSES and USURPATIONS, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute DESPOTISM, it is their RIGHT, it is their DUTY, to throw off such Government, and to provide NEW Guards for their posterity and future security. —Such has been the patient sufferance of these Fifty States; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the last hundred years is a history of repeated INJURIES and USURPATIONS by the various administrations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States and our neighbors abroad. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world and a voting American populous.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has refused their Assent to wholesome Laws, necessary for the public good, while accepting intrusive and unconstitutional Laws under the guise of Protection, Safety, and Equality.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has forbidden Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance while neglecting its constitutional responsibilities to provide border security, efficient immigration, protection of civil liberties, due process, and most importantly sound money.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large groups of undocumented immigrants, has routinely maintained a schizophrenic relationship of deportation threats and scapegoating on one hand and protection and special privileges on the other, a strategy of political chicanery formidable to arrogant and power hungry elitists.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has called together legislative bodies at unusual hours and at the last minute for the sole purpose of coercing members into supporting manipulatively titled legislation to avoid financial ruin or other fear mantras propagated through controlled media channels whose own interests miraculously mirror government's, a sign that both are controlled by outside entities with un-American interests.

Presidents, both Democrats and Republicans have circumvented Congress and repeatedly abused the power of the Executive Order which was only meant as a means to yield their constitutionally granted powers, NOT to create Laws and Mandates in dictatorial fashion.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by perverting its power to one of Legislative Mandates.

Government under Democrats and Republicans have used their positions to grant themselves lucrative pension packages, salary increases, lavish junkets, all while destroying the savings and the purchasing power of the American people through inflationary policies propagated through the quasi-governmental and private Federal Reserve System unabated to the growing sentiment of the American people for transparency.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has erected a multitude of New Offices for Newly created Agencies and Bureaucracies such as the TSA, EPA, Homeland Security, and FEMA, and sent hither swarms of Newly Armed Public Agents to harass our people under these banners.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies trained for aggressive and offensive wars with the consent of our legislatures. Congress suggests that we are a nation at war with certain ideas like poverty, drugs, and terrorism, and uses these Armies to maintain a constant state of war and foreign intervention, while reneging on constitutional procedures and responsibilities for engaging in said wars and national defense. A constant state of aggression and intervention abroad has led our personal freedoms here at home to be severely diminished, and our once loved and admired image abroad to be severely tarnished.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power in times of war, when no war has been declared since World War II.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution and unacknowledged by our laws; giving their Assent to their Acts of pretended Authorities and Legislation under such banners as the United Nations, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, World Trade Organization, North American Free Trade Agreement, Central American Free Trade Agreement, and many others.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has forced foreign governments to provide lands for the Quartering of large bodies of Armed Troops against the objections of foreign Nationals and without the financial means of sustaining those foreign Military Installations.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has routinely intervened in the internal affairs of foreign countries undermining their democratic process and many times installing and supporting brutal oppressive regimes that serve Corporate interests, and do not serve the interests of Americans or the foreign nationals of said countries.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has routinely cut off our Trade with parts of the world.

Government under Democrats and Republicans continuously imposes new Taxes on us without our Consent, using trickery and hidden means such as the inflation tax, through the destruction of savings and purchasing power, and through perpetual national debt obligations to our posterity.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has at many times, transported others beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offenses in secret prisons under the banners of prisoners of war or enemy combatants, basic human rights and due process neglected, while subjecting them to torture under the guise of enhanced interrogation techniques in the name of National Security. Government has gone so far as to assassinate foreign elected leaders, and even Americans labeled enemy combatants and terrorists.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has routinely used its power to destroy and classify millions of government documents, to cover-up clear bureaucratic failures and ineptness, and to refuse to answer legitimate questions from victims of Government abuse and covert operations.

Government under Democrats and Republicans has once again granted, through secretive measures, the power to issue private money to central bankers and forced Americans to accept it. We now find ourselves at the mercy of our creditors, the Federal Reserve Bank, a bank with obvious ties to powerful banking families that have dominated the banking industry, and thus the world for centuries. They have robbed our elderly of their savings, our workers of their property, and our children of their future.

Government under Democrats and Republicans imposed one of the most vicious taxes (second only to the hidden inflation tax) - the income tax - a tax so counter-productive, so morally irreprehensible, and so completely unconstitutional that it had to be forced through Congress during the Christmas holiday. One need not travel very far to find the clear the motives of such an enactment, to fund the repayment of debt and interest from the Animal created the same year, the Federal Reserve System.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Government whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant is unfit to be the ruler of a free people, be it by one man or an oligopoly of corrupt Corporate and Banking interests. Our Sentiment has been silenced and our protests co-opted. We have taken over political parties and marched tirelessly in the streets, but the Corporate controlled media has convinced us to fight each other instead.

Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our Washington bureaucratic brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the constitutional limitations on Federal power. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends. We have but one acceptable solace recourse, Restore America Now.

We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in Liberty, Assembled in the last truly free frontier, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by the Authority of the good People of these States, solemnly publish and declare, That these United States are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to oppression Washington Bureaucrats, and that all political connection between them and the Federal Government of the United States of America, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as The Free and Independent States of America, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

I missed this when first posted.

I'm wondering how this could be distributed to seniors, who are not computer literate, but would vocally support your views, as they have seen the downward slide of the nation. Also, to the disadvantaged, who do not have access to unfiltered information.

Courage is contagious, as there is safety in numbers. Also, some people need numbers to affirm their resentment is not completely insane.

Now that we have this document, what do we do with it?

Needs updating with new authorization bill passed

Guess we can update this now to include the original "He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power." and "For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury" with the passage of this offensive defense bill.

This is a great document, well thought out and some of the critiques so far are brilliant. I hate to rain on the parade but Washington will never ever let anyone become independant, not even to the extent of autonomy that Spain's various provinces or Switzerland's cantons have. We don't have a Gorbachev, a guy who refuses to roll out the military to try and force his subjects to remain under his thumb and I expect Washington will go to war hard and shed as much American blood as they need to before they allow any degree of autonomy or independance from our socialist central government.

In the line "As previously determined and proved, in the Course of human events", you left out the word "When". I would re-add it to read "....proved, When in the course of human events".

In the 3rd grievance you end with "a strategy of political chicanery formidable to arrogant and power hungry elitists." This completely misses the usage in the original 3rd grievance which states "He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only." It is the "right of Representation in the Legislature" that is formidable to tyrants. Re-word your 3rd grievance include what right we have that is violated by the use of political chicanery by the elites, and then I think you will have this one dialed in.

I would consider expanding the 6th grievance to include what provision of the Constitution is violated "by perverting its power to one of Legislative Mandates." Maybe reference the 10th Amendment here, eg., "by perverting its power to one of Legislative Mandates to include powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, in violation of the 10th Amendment."

The 9th grievance discusses standing armies, but does not address the National States of Emergency that are renewed each year which give the government the authority to keep standing armies for longer than 2 years.

I would reword the 10th grievance to say "when no war has been Constitutionally declared since World War II."

I recommend including the word "foreign" in your 18th grievance, eg. "obvious ties to powerful foreign banking families"

The 19th grievance uses the word "Animal". I would change this to "Creature", in direct reference to the Creature of Jekyll Island".

I would include a 20th grievance regarding the federal take over of our education system which indoctrinates our youth into socialism.

In your closing remarks, I would change "oppression Washington Bureaucrats" to "oppressive..."

Lastly, and this is the only part that is of great concern to me, in the closing remarks are you calling for the abolition of the Constitution of the United States of America, or it's restoration? It sounds like you are proposing we dissolve the union completely. We don't want, say Oregon declaring war on Idaho, for example. The goal should be to "Restore Constitutional Government to the United States of America" as what is in the DP logo up top. You've changed it from "and that as Free and Independent States...", to "The Free and Independent States of America", as if you are advocating we scrap the united States of America, and form a new country. I'm pissed off at the government too, but I don't think that is the answer. I recommend advocating Restoration, not abolition.

In closing, I really like what you are trying to accomplish. Many people have re-written the Declaration of Independence to address the abuses of the day, and I am all for people doing so. In fact, this is one of the better ones I have read. The vast majority of my post is intended to help provide suggested edits that would help clean up some of the grievances. These are not intended to be criticisms at all, and are meant purely constructively. The only serious concern/question I have is detailed in the above paragraph. What it comes down to is the question Judge Andrew Napolitano has asked: "Is the Constitution a document of Liberty, or a document of tyranny?" No easy answer to this question, and it is one that requires much soul searching. Each individual must determine this for themselves. For me, it is a document of Liberty, but we have failed the founders by not living up to it and enforcing it, with teeth. For more on this subject I highly recommend watching this hour long speech by Judge Andrew Napolitano at the Mises Institute.

In all honestly, I struggled with what I'm calling for, and think a simple system reboot is what we need, Restore America and the Constitution Now is my message, and to focus more on the Free and Independent States (FISA vs USA) but still loosely bound in a Union as originally intended.

I agree with Kelldor

Especially the inference that you may be trying to COMPLETELY neuter the Federal government to the point that there could be war between the states. One could imagine New York obliterating the Free State Project in one fell swoop...

The only small suggestion against what Kelldor said would be to not call out socialism explicitly when discussing education. The document already makes its point very well without getting into (sch)isms.

But not quite ready for prime time. Almost. I don't know if you wrote this, but it is fabulous. My critiques are all minor, and they all pertain to the last few paragraphs, which may be an indication that the editing process just hasn't filtered down all the way through yet.

Although I do agree that "1913 was a disaster for Liberty", the document should stick to facts, not judgements.

The last sentence here is great:
