Ron Paul's "Golden Rule Foreign Policy"

Hey Ron!!

Just call it your "Golden Rule Foreign Policy" instead of stumbling to find words like non-intervention. Everyone is very familiar with the term so there's no confusion and you might just score some brownie points from the religious right.

Thanks for listening.

I remember reading this and

I remember reading this and shortly there after heard RP start mentioning it.

RP likes it, I think he'll keep going to it.

If I have to say it a million times ARMED NEUTRALITY

It conveys both strength and sensibility at the same time.

"non-intervention" and "golden rule" are "accurate" but they SUCK.

I haven't yet watched what Faux passed off for a debate, but from the comments, I can tell what transpired.

Ron should have seen that one coming.

Honestly, I'm pissed.

We are spending way too much money on this campaign, hard earned dollars, many of us don't really have to give, and he can't be bothered with a debate coach?

I've had enough.

Obviously, Dr. Paul is not serious about winning. Hell, I'm beginning to question if he's serious about getting his message across.

Who tries to communicate and doesn't bother to hone his message?

Who tries over and over to educate and convince new people into the fold and doesn't bother to make a CLEAR and CONCISE case for his points?

I know Dr. Paul has been in this fight a long time.

Perhaps there is a reason he has done zilch to advance the policies of Liberty for 40 years? Perhaps its because he's stubborn and refuses to adjust his message in ways that are understandable, coherent, and concise?

I know I'm not the only one with this opinion.

I want someone to give me one damned good reason why I should continue to fund this campaign with money I need for food and bills when Dr. Paul can't be bothered to even take FREE debate coach advise and IMPLEMENT IT.

Frankly, as it looks right now, my money is going down the toilette.

while I hear your frustration

People that want overnight change vote for Obama. Seriously.

I can't speak for others, but the way I see it is that I'm NOT voting for Ron Paul at all. Ron is a terrible politician by the 20-21st century Orwellian definition.

He's got bad hair
He doesn't pander for votes
He ends thoughts with foreshadowing of misfortune instead of inspiring one liners.
He doesn't make promises
He's not morally flexible
He doesn't use teleprompters

and the list doesn't stop there. To think that main stream America will superficially size this guy up and say "yep, he's got my vote" is a farce. Repackaged the message will sell like sex in Vegas.

Those of us who see the only win as taking the White House won't be around after this election cycle. That's sad because it's the message that matters and gets my vote. It took tremendous grassroots movement of people "throwing away their donated dollars" for YEARS just so you and I could even hear the message. The next messenger who will win wouldn't have a chance without this foundation.

That's not waste, it's seed money.

Yeah, I'm fighting for the here and now, but more so the future. I don't want to be forced to leave the country I love but I'm not interested in enslaving my future generations either. Going down with a sinking ship is not an option.

There's the truth, now it's your turn to pick sides.

My side was picked long ago.

I'm not looking for instant gratification.

But I want my money to have the most impact.

If he can't be bothered to IMPROVE (not pander) then why should I bother? For the future? How about I spend it somewhere else on someone else who will actually accomplish something with it?

Yes people sacrificed in the past. It didn't do any good either. The Orwellian State is marching right along. (and getting stronger by the day)

Look, I support the message and the man. But as of right now, I can't say I support the candidate. Honestly, I don't see that he takes himself as a candidate seriously enough for me to give him any more money. He'll get my vote in my State's primary and I'll do whatever I can for my State's caucus, but I'm not giving any more money if Paul doesn't start acting like a CANDIDATE interested in winning the nomination or the election.

The very fact that he doesn't does his message and his supporters a great disservice. People stop listening to him when they think even he doesn't intend to win. (and that doesn't come from his words, it comes from his actions)

he said it ... and got booed

To be fair, the crowd was already down on him for about 30 seconds of rambling so the timing to drop this bomb was less that perfect. Only time will tell if this resonates. The hill immediately put out an article (linkbelow) on the debate titled something related so this will get him some publicity. We weren't winning the warmongers anyways, hopefully it will reach some rational ears.

Surely people really aren't booing the golden rule .. are they? I do live right in the middle of the country so I don't feel THAT out of touch.

and ... BIG UPS to Michael & the rest of the DP for giving me the chance to be heard. No guarantee this thread was related to him actually saying it, but I do have a smile on right now.

Personally I think it did. I

Personally I think it did. I saw this thread, then started hearing rp mention it (tonight wasn't the first time), so in my mind he heard it here first.

World Poll!

See what the world thinks of RPs "Golden Rule Foreign Policy"

This is a no-brainer.

bump for simplicity

this needs to be brought to the forefront of the debates and interviews, if we need to break this foreign policy hurdle.
i am quite sure that the MSM will find some other fault with Dr. Paul's stand on issues, but this really needs to be dealt with.

No one ever answers ron when he asks how they would like being invaded and occupied. If they did they would no longer be disagreeing w ron paul... But with their Lord and savior. In fact, they already are. This is why This campaign is so important; we must reach our fellow americans. What a great opportunity to change the world.

"Golden Rule Foreign Policy"

"Golden Rule Foreign Policy" -- Got it!

And when those non-RP folks respond, "Yeah, but how is Iran going to treat US when they get a nuclear weapon?!" -- please remind them that the golden rule is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

It is NOT "Do unto others as they would do unto you." Sounds silly, but I suspect some people will need to be reminded of what the golden rule actually is.

back from Christmas

and just revisited this thread and suddenly became pleasantly surprised to see many comments.

I have no idea how to get the message to RP (76+ votes isn't enough for a homepage here even) but he's very critical of his own delivery. Just a few catch phrases like this one would help him drive his points home quickly so he can go back to his normal style of ramble on.

The campaign is one step

The campaign is one step ahead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss_2IYeGKMg

That is cool. I was just

That is cool. I was just astonished to hear people just blathering the words "we need to force a regime change" like it was just a normal thing for the USA to do. These people are frightened NUTS! That is not America, and they can NOT keep at it until everyone is taking sides. GEEZE. Where is our PEACE?

Ron Paul, as good as GOLD!

Ron Paul the Golden Rule on foreign policy

Ron Paul the Gold Standard on monetary policy

The man with the heart of Gold, a commodity to the American people.

Ron Paul, as good as Gold!

My suggestion to the campaign is to finally turn around this claim that Paul is naive on foreign policy. It is the new buzz word. What is really naive is believing that what we have been doing makes us safer and that more of it will deliver us from evil. What is naive is to believe that we should be instigating a war with Iran which would subsequently result in our involvement with China and Russia at a time when our military is strewn across the globe and our people at home are struggling to find ways to support their families. At a time when the dollar is dangling by a string and the rest of the world is on the edge of absolute civil unrest. We have naive people who want to light that fire bomb to make us safe? Give me a break.

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

I like it

It's a nice simple way of putting it, and makes it tougher for opponents to be critical of it.

great

simple, straight forward and catchy !!
I think RP should lay out a Foreign Policy and Defense Plan, I think it will help a lot just like the $1 trillion cut plan gave some concrete designs to his ideas.
Please someone get this to the campaign,
this is the last real hurdle, if RP shows that he can "save and protect" the scared people, it would gain him some support. After that only his being "kooky" and "unelectable" would remain - the negative plants given by our fair and unbiased media !!

Good!

Good!

Libertarianism is the golden rule political philosophy

It's appropriate to call Ron Paul's foreign policy the Golden Rule foreign policy because it is a libertarian foreign policy, and libertarianism is the golden rule political philosophy.

Libertarianism has one fundamental tenet, which is basically the golden rule but a bit more specific. That tenet is called the Non-aggression principle, or the NAP, which is that initiation of, or threatening, violence against a person, or legitimately owned property of another, is wrong.

This principle is not only at the root of Ron Paul's foreign policy, but also his monetary and economic policy.

So not only is it the golden rule foreign policy, but also the golden rule economic policy, the golden rule monetary policy, and the golden rule domestic policy!

There's a picture here that

There's a picture here that conveys that same message on foreign policy specifically to Christians who support one of the other warmongers: http://dailypolicyjournal.com/2011/11/22/christian-conservat...

It could do the Christian right some good,

because they might start reading their Bible for themselves, instead of listening to their minister's trickery learned from the Scofield Reference Bible. In reality they are preaching ancient Jewish prophecy and fraudulently relating it to Christian Gospel, which was the purpose of the Rothschild agent backed Scofield Reference Bible. They had better repent, because they never know when their time will come to meet judgement. http://www.sweetliberty.org/issues/hoax/scofield.htm
