I was interviewed by Canadian mainstream media outlet - Updated

Daily Paul and myself covered by the mainstream media in Canada!
Main TV station based in Vancouver:

Main newspaper in Winnipeg:

Radio station based in Ontario:

How it all started?

I was interviewed by Canadian mainstream news outlet:
http://www.thecanadianpress.com/

This was the question for me:

Basically what I'd like to know is why you think Ron Paul resonates with youth? Is it just the drug stuff? And why is he resonating with Canadians? How many Canadians are getting involved? What are you doing specifically to get the message out to Canadians, and why given we can't vote for him?

And this was my answer:

I don't use drugs but I think the state should not be in the business of morality - Churches can do that.
War on drugs brings suffering violence high incarceration rates and is very very expensive for the taxpayers.

Dr. Ron Paul resonates with youth because they can see his honesty his integrity.
They know as president he would not send them away to some war and institute forced military draft for the young people. He speaks truth to power. He is everything that young people expected Obama to be (before most people realized Obama was another puppet of Wall St. and the military machine).

There are many Canadians who are involved in Ron Paul's campaign.
Hard to pick a number.
I know about 20 activists from Canada who post on the main grassroots blog:
http://www.dailypaul.com/

This is my activist page there:
http://www.dailypaul.com/user/2259
you can view my articles videos comments and so on.
Some people tell me I am the # 1 Ron Paul supporter in Canada.

At the moment I use Twitter to reach people especially those in the first voting state Iowa (Jan. 3rd Caucus day)

I print leaflets and place them inside free newspapers such as NOW weekly paper.
I post leaflets on the streets in various high traffic places.
Giving them away at Occupy Toronto and during cultural events/festivals and so on.

By changing America we change Canada and the rest of the world.
Peace president in America means no more hassles at the US border and at the airports no more groping...
Military spending is the biggest part of budgets in almost every country.
Instead of fighter jets "smart" bombs that cost trillions we can feed the planet provide prosperity for every human being. Gandhi was also not Canadian as is Dalai Lama - but their words are living within our Canadian hearts just
as the words of the good doctor from Texas Ron Paul.

How did I do?
I need some feedback.
I was writing fast and could have done a better job - especially covering economic matters.

The article will be send to me and then I will post it here for everyone.
The journalist was very nice very pleasant.
She covers US politics as Washington correspondent.

UPDATE: Article Posted!!!
http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/world/breakingnews/libertar...

Second media outlet picked it up here:
http://www.570news.com/news/world/article/302673--libertaria...

This article will appear in newspapers (and online) all across Canada in major cities. Winnipeg's main newspaper was the first that picked up this story (my parents and sister happen to live in that city)
Here is the part talking about me and the Daily Paul:

Tomasz Dybowski, a Toronto poet who is working to spread the word about Paul via Twitter and the DailyPaul.com website, says the congressman resonates with youth because he has their interests at heart.

"They can see his honesty and integrity," said Dybowski, 44, who distributed leaflets about Paul at the recent Occupy Toronto protests. "He is everything young people expected Obama to be before most people realized that Obama was another puppet of Wall Street and the military machine."

I'd like to see statistics for each candidate on who has

the most International volunteers and supporters.

I would bet it's Ron Paul by far.

History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Does

Canada play the same fabricated crap on the television that we have here in the US. I do not watch tv anymore but sometimes I wonder how much we are censored opposed to other countries.

Also Nice job.

media here is almost as bad as in America

Ron Paul receives almost no coverage here in Canada.
Black out.
The is the most positive coverage of Ron's campaign so far here.
Sad reality...

You have American Idol shows - we have Canadian Idol shows - same crap.

Thanks.

uh

"Daily Paul and myself covered by the mainstream media in Canada!"

please please please. we look like illiterate fools.

the word "me" is SO scary to SO many people it's what i consider a huge signal that the health of our nation's people and their ability to communicate is severely lacking. this movement cannot sustain our own being so without the most basic understanding of our nation's language.

you're pretty much saying "myself was covered by the mainstream media in Canada"

and therefore i could say......."myself was driving to work and got stopped"

myself......myself.......my-Fing-self.

should have been "the daily paul and me being covered by....."

i know.....it's ridiculous that i or anyone else bring this up at "a time like this"

screw that. communication is everything.

just to let you know English is my second language

I had to learn English after my escape from at the time communist Poland at the tender age of 18.
Thanks for commenting - enjoy your day Cinco.

Like Marc Emery says "because American presidential politics is just to important to leave up to only Americans". "to important for Canadians to spectate from the sidelines."

God bless Marc Emery

Marc organized Ron Paul information booth 4 years ago in Vancouver.
Him and his wife Jody are huge Ron Paul supporters.

Ron Paul president is hope for Marc and so many other victims of the "war on drugs" (which should be called war on the people)

As president Dr. Ron Paul would give amnesty for non-violent drug offenders - people from every political spectrum should do everything they can in support of his campaign!

I'm an RP supporter from Toronto (High Park Area) as well

Great work you are doing and thanks for the post.

You may be interested in joining the Ludwig Von Mises Institute of Canada group on Facebook. I attend all their pub nights/lectures and have met some great people and RP supporters there.

I'd love to network with other Toronto-based Ron Paul supporters but I'm not sure about the best way to do so. Suggestions are welcome. I want to get more involved. Respond or msg me.

How Cool is That...

Well done! You hit the nail right on the head with all the issues. You're my newest Canadian hero. You're right up there with Dean Clifford from Winnipeg.

We need a man like Ron Paul to win, so that his message resonates up here to wake-up some politician worth voting for.

I got zero feedback for years with my Ron Paul Revolution bumper sticker and Ron Paul t-shirt from the 2008 elections. In the past year I had a gentlemen in Saratoga Wyoming comment on my Ron Paul t-shirt saying that he was Dr. Pauls daughters teacher. He was a tad puzzled why a Canadian would care about American politics.
At Ottawa airport, while reading the dailypaul on my laptop, a young political science student walk up to me and said..."Hey Ron Paul, that guy is awesome". How cool is that..

Thanks for sharing fellow Canuck.

Enjoy the ride to Ron Pauls victory.

Thanks for your uplifting comment

I met a bunch of Canadian RP supporters at Occupy Toronto a few weeks back. They held a huge Ron Paul rEVOLution banner all day long on a Saturday and they encountered a lot of support. I had over 100 leaflets gave them all away and only 2 people refused to take one - almost everyone likes the good doc.

During Polish festival here in Toronto as I was giving away leaflets to people lots of folks from Chicago said they will vote for him and I even got one Bachmann supporter to switch.

This is another thing I do especially in tourist areas where Americans visiting Toronto can see it:

If USA doesn't realize what

If USA doesn't realize what is happening in their country and recognize that they have a genuine champion of the people...then I pray let him come to Canada. We need him here.

Great

You did a great job!

Hey man, thats awesome that

Hey man, thats awesome that you got some exposure up here in Canada. I'm a dual-citizen in Ottawa, and I didn't think there was that much interest in RP by Canadians - most have almost zero faith in true free markets, and think the level of government intervention we have here is OK.

Anyways, good stuff...I can only dream of the day we get our taxes down in Ontario and at the federal level.

I think...

you're doing an awesome job (and you set a high bar for the rest of us! Lol!).

Although time constraints prevent me from viewing all you've posted thus far, there is one point I'd like to touch on.

I, too, do not use drugs, but I believe the issue goes much deeper than the response you provided and I'd like to touch on it briefly here.

The so-called "war" on drugs is actually nothing of the sort and I believe it's important for us to point this out.

The most fundamental question people must ask themselves if we are to restore some civility, virtue and lawfulness in society is "Does a person possess the authority to freely ingest a particular substance"? I would argue that they do.

For if a person does not possess the authority to freely ingest a particular substance, this is essentially just a way to say they do not own their body; that they are not their own property. Therefore, it logically follows that if someone else DOES possess the authority to decide what a person may or may not freely ingest, that person(s) owns that individual.

The implications of such a belief are absolutely profound, and I am not being hyperbolic here. One need only stop and think clearly about this for a few minutes and see the truth in this.

It's a slippery slope. Look at how many inroads the government has made in this area. Everything from medicine to food is dictated to us in ways that we should not tolerate. Certainly not if we truly value what it means to be a free society....

Non-users overlook the consequences they have inherited in their own lives (to their own shame) by tolerating government intrusions into the private sphere and the longer they overlook it, the heavier the price they too will pay.

NO ONE can escape the fact that the government is an equal opportunity destroyer. It does not discriminate. Once the door is cracked, they'll kick it wide open (and they have steadily beeen doing just that) and non-users will find themselves being told how much salt they can put on their food to which potentially life-savigs drugs they may one day need and on and on.

The problem with non-users is they tend to be short-sighted and/or don't connect-the-dots. They believe that it's ok for a group to lose their liberty and they (the non-users) will not lose any. They fail to understand the nature of the state. There is something "organic" about it and it grows and expands its reach. Sometimes almost imperceptibly, but it does.

The "war" on drugs is, in reality, a war on peoples' authority to make decisions for themselves; to be free moral agents.

Keep up the great work!

Great comment SC

Thanks for your very informative comment.

I was posting Ron Paul quotes yesterday during the event I organized named Paulinate Twitter Day.

Here are two quotes from the good doctor dealing with this issue:

"Government must never use force to mold behavior, manipulate social outcomes, or tell other countries how to behave"

"Individuals are responsible for their own actions; government cannot and should not protect us from ourselves"

These quotes were quite popular as many people retweeted them.

Just think what the world would be like

If every nation had a Ron Paul. They would all believe it was their job to protect their peoples God given liberty and not trying to figure out how to mess in the affairs of other nations. Wouldn't that be something.

I think it is possible

Once Americans elect Ron Paul as president people in every country all over the world will wish to have someone like that as their leader as well.

Flames of Liberty will spread fast.

You know how our Prime Ministers seem to cram their heads up the Arses of the US Presidents. Well Ron Pauls Arse would look really good on Harper!

It would be so wonderful to see president Ron Paul choose Canada as the first country he visits after inauguration.
