UPDATED: Doc about Veterans in and around Fort Hood, TX

Good evening,

From across the pond I would like to share a beautiful documentary with you. It had its worldpremiere a few days ago on the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam. It is called: Beer is cheaper than therapy. The documentary focuses on the lives and emotions on the soldiers without passing judgement on what they have or have not done.

Last night there was a debate where people were arguing for more war. Whatever the reason, put those people in front of a TV, strap m in their chairs and let them see this. If they are not woken to the irrationality of war, to paraphrase reagan, than I do not know what will. Except a Paul Presidency maybe..

UPDATE

A few weeks ago I found the documentary online. Let me know what you think. I would appreciate it.

Sorry for the self-bump

I had no idea how else to get this one out of the memory hole again. I found the documentary and have added it to the post. As stated, I am curious what your findings are.

regards

I'm not very military savvy

but what we are asking of our military people is leading to such disruption of lives, unnecessary death, suicides, troops returning hooked on a plethora of drugs and antipsychotics...I can take no heart or comfort as a human with these ongoing fronts without declaration of war...Just War as Dr. Paul advocates. A huge reason to vote For Dr. Paul, supporting his foreign policy. The tremendous sacrifice of our military men and women is very selfish of us based upon our fears and perception that it affords us a bit of security. The cost too great.

I could not watch the full documentary due to internet connections, but I did see the trailer and it seems a powerful piece. I've been told by a vet friend, that I must not voice my anti-war stance as it will be construed as "unpatriotic" and will hurt the morale of the troops. Like Dr. Paul I support the troops beyond lip service and using them as a "product" because of perceived fears, I believe we should have the strongest defense and that does not mean nation building or offense. As the greatest nation on eart, we should lead by example...atrusitic? Perhaps, but it is a good place to start for restoration of a government by the people and for the people.

Thank you for your response

Thank you for your response Paulette. I agree with you on the foreign policy. It hurts humans. In the United States as well as abroad. It hurts families. In the United States as well as abroad. It destroys faith for those who believe. In the United States as well as abroad. It strengthens resistance. In the United States as well as abroad.

The way out is easy. Just come home. But there is no one seeming to want that, except a few tens of thousands of soldiers and Ron Paul (I am simplifying of course). But it will change, for better or worse and you all have a fighting chance for better.
