Letters for Ron Paul!

How can we spread Ron Paul's message to voters during the holiday season? Here's an idea: handwritten letters.

This is an especially nice idea to reach the elderly. Many of these people are lonely, and receiving a personalized letter written by an enthusiastic young person would absolutely make their day, and might even change their mind about who to vote for.

Ron Paul is very strong on the internet and with the younger population, but not so much with older demographics who traditionally watch a lot of television and don't spend a lot of time online. This might be the best way to reach those people.

But it's not just the elderly, when anybody receives a handwritten letter, they open it and read it carefully, and the experience sticks in their minds. As opposed to political brochures which are promptly dumped in the garbage and forgotten.

This is what Ron Paul has always been about anyway, not a slick plastic image and talking points, but humans brought together by common cause, getting energized about the cause of freedom. So lets get busy this holiday season, and spread the spirit of liberty across the nation!

Where are you finding

your addresses? All I have are my friends and family, and my precinct voter registration lists...

Just e-mailed the campaign

I'll ask around too. When I have a better answer I'll tell you, and I'll also edit the info into the main post.

I was starting with people I know

But it would be awesome if we could use the full database of registered Republican voters. The Ron Paul campaign has one, and it would be great if we could use it. Maybe we could get fed a steady stream of new addresses automatically online sort of like they do for phone banking. I will try to contact them and see if we can set something up.

Otherwise you would have to buy some data online, which is tricky business. Here is the website for Iowa just in case you are curious.

It's true.

I joined too late last time around to do anything in Iowa (other than vote for Ron Paul), so I participated in a letter-writing campaign, but I haven't heard anything about it this time around... anyway, I hand-wrote one letter and then made copies of it on nice paper. I even got a thank-you card from a lady in Florida who said my letter made her vote for Ron Paul! :) You just never know what kind of impact you have...

A little post Thanksgiving bump

I should know better than to post on holidays.

Awesome work

writing is not a good thing for me, no patience for it. I prefer engaging strangers in conversation and embarass my wife sometimes. Keep up the great work, here is a bump for your efforts. Tonight will be slow, Thanksgiving Eve, make sure you hit this thread after the holidays.

Just sent my first letter!

Made sure to use quality paper and write neatly. That's one more convert!
