The Republican "national security" debate sponsored by Neocon Central the American Enterprise Institute and the Heritage Foundation captured perfectly the intellectual and political bankruptcy of the Republican party when it comes to foreign policy. Here the party’s pandering demagoguery, reflexive ultra-nationalism, and visceral hostility to liberty was on full display in all its exhibitionistic belligerence. It was only natural, therefore, that the first question was asked by disgraced former US Attorney General Edwin Meese, who was forced to resign as Reagan’s AG as a result of his complicity in obtaining big defense contracts for a phony "minority"-owned company. Here is his "question":
"At least 42 terrorist attacks aimed at the United States have been thwarted since 9/11. Tools like the Patriot Act have been instrumental in finding and stopping terrorists. Shouldn’t we have a long range extension of the investigative powers contained in that act so that our law enforcement officers can have the tools that they need?"
What a set up for Newt Gingrich! And he certainly took advantage of it: naturally he was given the first answer –with poor Herman Cain having outlived his usefulness and been unceremoniously dumped, Newt is the "mainstream" media’s new darling.

What needs to be stated
Newt is the only republican candidate that is also a member of the CFR. This gives him a huge behind-the-scenes boost by the neo-cons, and powerful heads of the media.
But he is also a flake, and that will help Dr. Paul.

Pop ups
You know how they have these "Pop up" music video on VH-1, at least they did, it was where while the video played, little pop up bubbles would give facts about the video? We need to remake these debates with Pop-ups! Saying who the questioner is and his ties to corruption from the past. The candidates previous and different stance in a prior election etc. Now that would be funny!

I think you're talking about those message 'bubbles' you see from time to time on videos. Yes, it's a excellent way to show the viewer the facts and information as they are talking. The viewer will come away with a different perspective...that's if they are waking up. Super idea, that's what I love about Ron Paul supporters :-)

right on the money
This is the heart of what we are all up against and it is as dirty and dangerous as it gets... Wake up people, do your research... Those who say that Dr.Paul will never get the nomination have inside information, they know what he is up against...
We are facing an uphill battle...
The good news is they have no dirt on the good doc.
So the only thing/tactic for them the only thing left that they can try to continue to do is to "black him out" -- but it seems to no longer work in their favor - it actually backfires & opens peoples eyes - brings more people to our side.
