Ron Paul Interview With CNBC On Today's World Wide Quantitative Easing
Via RP's Facebook:
Ron Paul
I'll be on CNBC's Squawk On The Street around 11AM Eastern today.

3rd party run would be complicated.
The tricky thing is that the two most likely parties to want RP as a nominee, Libertarian and Constitution, have their conventions much earlier than does the GOP.
The best scenario I see is that each of those parties pass a resolution in convention to the effect that, if Ron runs in the general election in any capacity, the nominee they choose later in the convention will drop out and the party will support Ron. The LP might even make RP their provisional nominee, should he choose to run as a Libertarian if he loses the GOP nomination.
It would also be possible to have an independent run, with both of those parties officially supporting it -- but that would mean the cost and effort of gaining ballot status in all 50 states.

3rd Party is still worth a thought.
I fully agree with RP's position to state that he isn't considering 3rd party right now. The MSM, as we all know, will have a field day with the decision, which will absolutely hurt the campaign. This I 100% agree with.
But, on the flip side, it should always be a consideration, and I think Ron Paul realizes that. Just as prior to his announcement that he will be running for president, RP uses the same language to say he is not interested in a 3rd party run. But, we all knew even then he was taking it under consideration. For a candidate with RP's stature among all political parties, the unbelievably solid following that we supply for him, the monetary donations RP receives, and his philosophy of government, could finally be the mixture needed for a successful 3rd party bid.
Now, I'm not saying this because I doubt RP will be successful. In fact, we have proven RP's viability in the Republican party, and we can win this. But what I question is the viability of the Republican party leadership, and the powers that be, in allowing a Ron Paul have his win, and then truly backing him as their candidate.
Personally, I think RP realizes this. He knows how the system works, and knows that the party leadership is completely against him becoming the nominee and that many in his own party would not throw their full support for him and his positions, and if they do it's only a facade.. In my opinion, RP is using the same language (rightfully so) in stating he wouldn't run 3rd party, as he was using when saying he wasn't considering running for president, earlier last year. Ron Paul is a brilliant man, and he knows its best to keep all options open. Especially now that he has no ties to the Republican party now that he will be leaving congress at the end of this term.
I personally will fight for an RP win no matter what he decides, and I'm sure all of us feel the same. But to completely eliminate the option of a 3rd party run, as many here would like him to do, would be closing the door on another grand chance to educate the public with the ideas of liberty, which is something I can't see Ron Paul turning down if circumstances lead to that. But, right now, Im all in for the GOP win.

Ron Paul himself said there is a chance he will run 3rd party
In the very interview this thread is about he made a statement about the chance he will run 3rd party.
He said there is a 1 in 20,000,000 chance he will run 3rd party.
Get behind a 1 in 20,000,000 chance of a third party run or get behind a 1 in 1 chance of a Republican run.
I know where I will put my energies.
To everyone who seriously wants to keep beating this dead horse
The problem with all of you who "refuse to rule it entirely out", especially when you liken it to his decision to run again this year, is that it's really just comparing apples to rotten oranges.
You are all willing to throw out mountains of evidence that prove Paul will not go third party, and yet you ask us to "keep an open mind". I'm sorry, but that kind of logic just doesn't fly with me. And the fact is, as long as this discussion persists, it has real and destructive effects on the current campaign.
Some people around here practically jizz in their pants the moment someone else brings the subject up, and they go to great lengths to show how such an idea wouldn't be absurd. A few people are actually talking about using the mere threat of Paul running third party as something like an extortion attempt -- ultimately to ensure Paul walks off with the Republican nomination.
Sorry, despite whatever Andrew Sorkin-penned thriller you've been watching, real life doesn't work this way. As soon as the mainstream, rank-and-file GOP base caught a whiff of this idea, you can be sure as hell that it would be the end of the campaign's viability. You can't stand in the doorway. Move or get out of the way. Sh*t or get off the pot, as they say.
So he doesn't want to rule it out entirely? That just goes to show you that he's not stupid. But to try and read between the lines and suggest that this means he's letting the speculation continue for a reason... well, I just don't understand why some of you can't take him at his word.
But to everyone who seriously wants to keep beating this dead horse, to all of you who are willing to piss away 4 years in the GOP that is already starting to yield tremendous results, to the people who don't see anything wrong with throwing Paul's legacy and that of his son's under a bus...then I can't imagine why common sense would work on you.

The Third Party Question
I think The reason why the Press-ta-toots keep asking ron paul the question for third party, IS,,
THEY ALSO THINK HE'S THE ONLY ONE THAT TALKS LOGICAL SENSE.
& want ron paul 2012 for president, BUTT!! SHSHHHSHH!!
don't tell my boss's.CAUSE WE SUPPORT YA TOO RON!!!!
and we ALL KNOW who the money bosses are.--for repukeacans--
oohh yeah it's our boss's.
ELECT-->>> [Ron Paul 2012] <<<--
Does anyone know if Ron Paul
Does anyone know if Ron Paul will run third party if he doesn't get the (R)nomination. I haven't heard anything yet but it seems like it could be a possibility. I'm surprised the media hasn't thought to ask this question yet.
Politiks
I think the quota is slightly
I think the quota is slightly over 50 different journalists need to ask him.
Ron Paul has stated...
that he has no intention to make a third party run. He has said this more than once, because this is another tactic that the lamestream media is using to marginalize and minimize him. By asking him that question, they are implying that he has no chance to win the GOP nomination, and therefore, a third party run is inevitable. Ron Paul is not the one that they need to worry about making a third party run should he fail to secure the nomination; the one they need to worry about is Gary Johnson. The reason for this thought is because Johnson has only participated in 2 debates, while John Huntsman has participated in all but one, despite his very low poll numbers. It's easy to see that Johnson could have an axe to grind, and may have a desire to stick it to the GOP because of the way they have treated him.
lol
when will they stop effing asking that stupid question ? when he wins Iowa, i suppose ?
"Congressman Paul, you just won Iowa, because you people scammed the Caucus, so are you going to run third party ?"

The Media's Ron Paul playbook. Today's Death of the USD
Yes the media is playing from the Ron Paul interview playbook asking the exact same questions almost word for word. Look media, once you go Ron Paul you never go back.
These mainstream media 'bots so desperately want to know where the Ron Paul supporters will go if Ron Paul is not nominated...what a bunch of scum.
Once you are a Paul supporter you've seen behind the curtain Mr. Media, and you will NEVER support Romney or any of the other monkees on that Republican stage.
What happened today with the dollar swaps and easing has just condemned the dollar. Oh yea, there will be a high for a little while in the markets...and some of our banks will stay in business, but the American people will suffer the most. Most of them do not even know they've been hit with a rocket launcher yet. Gas will be 6 bucks soon and Food even higher...

Shut up! Shut UP! SHUT UP!
I swear to god (I meant lower case btw, I'm an atheist after all) I'm so sick of these jerks asking the same damn "3rd party" question! This limey bastard asked it four times, NEVER satisfied with Ron's answer. Do they think Ron's stupid enough to be painted into a corner by them? Or are they just that arrogant? Ron's going to get asked this at least another 53 times before Iowa, so he (or his campaign manager) need to come up with a better, quick and pointed response to this. I like the suggestion below "Why don't you ask Romney or Gingrich? After all, they're the ones that aren't conservative Republicans..." or "Haven't planned on it. What did the other candidates say when you asked THEM?" or bluntly "what's your and your peer's strategy behind asking me this question every single time?! Do you all have wax in your ears or something?" Ron's a real cool cucumber, I know, but it's time to start taking the gloves off! I know he won't though. He's a better man than me.
It's all a blatantly obvious presstitute ploy. The question's a trap- duh! Why else would they spend half of every interview focusing on that question? "Oh no, Paul's starting to talk sense again! Quick sidetrack the 'conversation' with the 3rd party question! Then when he's not successfully trapped by it, just keep asking it over and over again until the 'interview' is over!"
Damn it's hard supporting the truth. Alas, my eyes have been opened and returning to a state of blissful ignorance is not an option. If truth MUST be a cross, then I willingly bear it. At least I'm not alone!(Though when interacting in the world, it sometimes feels like it.)
I so wish he would say: "I
I so wish he would say:
"I think Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney should run as 3rd party candidates, because they certainly aren't conservative republicans."
He should say----WHY don't you ask them if they will support ME
if I win the Republican nomination!!
I'm SICK & TIRED of Ron's answer. He needs to turn it around, and just tell him he is offended by them constantly badgering him about this.
It is DISRESPECTFUL, and he needs to tell them that!! The PIGS.
What AS----HOLES CNBC commentators are---what PRESSTITUTES
They ask Ron Paul what HE thinks, like they give a crap about it at all. They ask him when the FEDERAL RESERVE IS OBVIOUSLY BEHIND TODAY'S PUMP in the stock market.
What an a--hole the FED is. I tell you it would serve these jerks right for him to run, no matter WHAT the friggin' odds are.
The ONLY thing the FED cares about is NOT that he will split the Republican party.
The ONLY thing the FED cares about is if Ron Paul runs & wins!
End of story, the dirty rotten bas----rds.
Man, you're pretty fired up
Man, you're pretty fired up to respond to the same comment twice in bold! You go with your bad self. I'm behind you!
R's and D's are more afraid if he runs as a Republican
I think that the establishment (R and D) is more afraid if he stays and runs as a Republican party candidate. Win or lose the elections, by staying as a Republican, he will cause much more desperately needed corrections to the Republican party.
They do want him to run as a 3rd party just so they can draw the party line and isolate themselves from him. And then blame it on Ron Paul for splitting the vote.
By treating the symptoms of the disease, both R's and D's, perform a political show. In the end, their puppet masters benefit from the status quo.
Only Ron Paul has a plan to treat the cause of the disease and not just the symptoms. And they are crafting plans to stop him or steer him away from his plan.
"The future is liberty, not tyranny and not big government." --Ron Paul @ Texas A&M 2012/04/10
Simple answer!
"Who in their right mind would betray the majority of American voters now, and run 123rd party... and now when I am winning and going to win the nomination?? Does it never occur to you who keep asking this question and ignoring the obvious answers, that maybe your script writer wants to distract the people from this fact that I am winning the nomination... and it is about time for the American people, indeed the world!?"
Enough said...
If he asks again, just ask him if he did not hear the first answer, just 10 seconds ago?!?
If again it is re-worded, ask him to check his hearing aid!
... and so forth!
He needs to quit answering that question
just ask "Why in the world would the GOP primary winner run third party?" and leave it at that.
If they ask "what if you don't win", He should say "Im running to win and I'm well on my way to doing so". If they push further just give them the broken record. I'm running to win.
I've heard him say the "i'm
I've heard him say the "i'm running to win" line before, but the interviewers usually ignore that.
The most pertinent "third party" thing I've heard
I saw some interview recently where the interviewer asked The Good Doctor, "Will you run on a third party?" And Dr. Ron said, "No."
The most prominent thing that stood out in my mind was when he said, "No, I'm not planning a third party run, because I don't want to."
Now, THAT's the Spirit of Freedom!
Freedom is my Worship Word!
Look again at this comment about Romney:
"Clearly he is the favorite to win the GOP race and yet he's rarely in the lead" does that make any sense at all! PLEASE, please, please RON PAUL. answer the question about the third party run with "That won't be necessary because I'm going to WIN the GOP nomination!" or "Why should I? I'm going to WIN the nomination!"
Ron Paul or no one at all.
I think rp not giving
I think rp not giving absolute answers is brilliant. The right is so obsessed w beating Obama (although they havent figured out that Obama = Romney = Gingrich) that they are delusionally paranoid about this. They need to know that a large # of rp peeps are ron paul or bust. They cannot, and I mean that 100%, beat Obama unless its RP. We all know the big inside joke, that d and r are both the same. They still havent figured it out. Its past the point of ignoring us now that if paul doesnt get the nominee, and Obama gets 4 more...we can blame it on them.

Depends which media
The Liberal media would encourage a third party run by Ron Paul because they know he would take votes away from the eventual GOP candidate.
The Conservative media would demonize Ron Paul because he would take votes away from their puppet.
I still think Ron Paul is going to get a lot more voter support in the very near future.
Why do they keep on asking
about a possible third party run? It bloody well never ends.. Do they ask any other candidate this question? It just ticks me off... If he says yes, it destroys his current run, if he says no, but does if need by, they'll call him a lier.. That's their plan..
They are We
It's irritating, but they aren't the only ones. How often does it come up, here on DP?
People are in such a hurry to plot the future, they want to know whether he'll be on the ballot and who his VP will be, and we haven't had so much as a single caucus or primary, yet.
Patience.
