Republican Jewish Coalition Bars Ron Paul From Presidential Debate, Saying He's Too "misguided and extreme"

Paul was not invited to attend the RJC's candidates forum because the organization - as it has stated numerous times in the past - "rejects his misguided and extreme views," said [RJC Executive Director Matt] Brooks.

"He's just so far outside of the mainstream of the Republican party and this organization," Brooks said. Inviting Paul to attend would be "like inviting Barack Obama to speak."

what's wrong?

what's wrong with criticizing Zionism? Considering they were a bunch of warmongering left-wing atheists and communists who only cared about establishing the state of Israel and nothing else (not even Jewish life), I think separating this horrible movement (which I hate) from the Jewish people (whom I like) is a pretty good idea.

The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt

people don't understand what zionism means..

learn how to communicate.. not just talk to your choir.. ever learned anything from ron paul's tv appearance and constant advices here telling him to 'slow and simplify'? what you say has no meaning and it just sounds like a negative term to your general audience.. stop acting like an idiot mumbling stuff to self.. start communicating in normal, simple, regular human terms people actually use in daily lives. that's not 'zion' who came up with the term anyway sounds like some idiotic crook teenster term out of the movie of matrix.. yes i know its references but i doubt the idiots who spam the term do

At least in this post

you differentiated between atheists and communists...

The biggest warmongers are monotheists, specifically those of the Abraham tradition, by the way.

We can only be kept in the cages we do not see. - Stefan Molyneux

You are a function of what the whole universe is doing in the same way that a wave is a function of what the whole ocean is doing. - Alan Watts

It is name calling

not constructive criticism. Rarely do people who use this terminology give any kind of explanation, and it comes off as angry and hateful.

Terming people "Zionist" is collectivist thinking and polarizes our movement from Jewish people who see Israel as their homeland. Whether or not you agree with that belief is up to you.... but throwing hate their way is not helping us get any votes. Instead we are turning even moderate Jewish supporters away in disgust.

I've never heard Dr. Paul use the term "Zionist" or speak the way many of the people in this thread are doing.

Raging against the "religious right," "Left wing extremists" and "neocons" doesn't do us any favors either. If we want to expand the movement we need to work on being inclusive... promoting education, not name calling. We need more votes, not more enemies.

Otherwise we are going to end up on a little life raft mumbling to ourselves.

joe biden is a zionist

you dont have to be jewish to be a zionist. actually zionism has nothing to do with religion.

Ron Paul is not anti-zionist.

Ron Paul is not anti-zionist. He's non-interventionist and realizes it's none of our business. I guess personally I would fall under the definition of a moderate Zionist (though it's not a big issue for me and I'm not part of any advocacy group or movement, and I really wouldn't identify myself as one) because I'm fine with the existence of a Jewish state, although I disagree with a lot of the actions of the Israeli government (and really all governments for that matter) in their dealings with their neighbors (though their neighbors do bad things as well. It's not a black and whit.e issue)

Ron Paul should make a trip to Israel

Yes! I said that! By doing so I think he could put this baby to rest. There are many Israeli's that share his opinion that Israel should decouple themselves from the US, and that by doing so they would take back control over their own sovereignty, and place themselves in a better position to make foreign policy decisions on their own behalf, without having to ask us permission first. Even Benjamin Netanyahu agrees with that! It is not unheard of for US presidential candidates to make trips to Israel during the campaign season, so why not? Let's say no leader there would see him, Ok, then all he has to do is give a public speech where Israeli's could come listen to him. He would draw a huge crowd in support, and across the street he would draw a huge crowd in protest, and that would make BIG news! In fact, he should do it on the same day as this debate, just like he did with the Rally for the Republic on the same day as the GOP convention.

I also think he should seek an endorsement from the Jews for the Preservation of Firearms. They are a good pro 2nd Amendment gun rights lobby, and are Oathkeepers friendly too.

Ask if the Israeli

Ask if the Israeli Libertarian group will invite Dr. Paul, and essentially force Ron Paul to fly to Israel so that it doesn't look like Ron Paul is reacting to the snubbing.

That's a good Idea! Go two days before the debate!

Jews for firearms should turn out for Ron Paul

See every statement I have made about Zionist

Has been proven by this simple act of condescension.

It doesn't help us

when RP supporters make negative statements about Israel, Zionism, or the Jewish people. I have heard some Jews say they have been turned off to Dr. Paul because of what his supporters have said.

It's not surprising that Ron Paul has been banned from a Jewish debate when people like you are making negative statements about them as a people. We need to open our arms to everyone, and instead of talking badly about them as a group help to educate them about Ron Paul's platform.

To much of the world, America is seen in a very bad light. Do you appreciate it when people make blanket statements about American citizens saying all of us are evil and bloodthirsty?

I agree but..

Please keep in mind that these negative comments about Jewish folk could be from bloggers "planted" to demonize Dr. Paul.

It doesn't help US?

Eagles can spot a rat a mile away.

"It's not surprising..." that's right. It's to be expected from people, like yourself, and them, to try and silence the message of freedom. What kind of statement does it make by keeping the only free voice in this debate series, silenced?

Perhaps too many of our young people have been sacrificed in the middle east, and too much of our money given away.

If their loyalty is to Israel, over the lives and well being of the people of these United States, what kind of a statement does that make?

They have every right to send their sons and daughters over there to fight for them, and to fund them out of their own pockets. They also have the right to move to Israel, and experience the police state first hand, after-all, that's where there loyalty is. (and you have the right to join them, with my blessings!

I totally disagree. I

I totally disagree. I support Ron Paul because he is a man of LAW. All men are created equal under the eyes of the law.

Our law stipulates separation of Church and State. I DO NOT SUPPORT the money of this country being funnelled to another country that has ideals that are very different than ours.

I'm anti-Jewish just as much as I'm anti-Christian or anti-Muslum, anti-Mormon or anti-Scientology.

So say whatever you want -- but maintaining our firm commitment to the Constitution is all that matters. And until you can show me an amendment or passage or even side-comment that says we are to be a religious nation, then I will stick by my guns and say we are a nation of LAWS not religion.

To say otherwise would give Ron Paul a bad reputation for not strictly adhering to the Constitution.

Really ?

I'm tired of turning the other cheek while the Zionist stomp their feet, hold their breath and scream Antisemitism. And I know plenty of Jewish people that feel the same way.

exactly. remember people: not

remember people: not all jewish people are zionists and not all zionists are jewish.

It wouldn't be the first savior they've killed.

no wonder we were banned.

honestly... some of you are so self righteous about your faith. I'm not even Jewish and can see your prejudice clear as day.

It was a joke! relax

truth liberate

I would argue that it is "misguided and extreme" to ban Dr. Paul from their debate. How disappointing.

So, the Republican Jewish Coalition won't even let him speak? Guess they are more interested in bending his words and making him look anti-Israel instead of hearing the truth directly from the good Doctor.

I have Jewish friends who support Ron Paul because he wants to give Israel sovereignty and stop funding their enemies. I'm sure they are disappointed he is being excluded.

Now, it will be less of a debate, and more of a sucking up contest to see who will guarantee Iran and Syria are blown off the map.

This will receive the lowest

This will receive the lowest viewership ratings of any GOP debate, by far. And really, without any dissenting opinion how is it even a debate? More like a bunch of people who all agree and hope that they can prove to be the one who agrees most. (Yes I know that sentence isn't grammatically correct)

Yes, but it will generate the most donations.
