Trump: Paul a "clown-like candidate;" would be "wasting the time of the viewers"

In an aggressive response, Trump slams Dr. Paul for refusing to attend the debate he will moderate in late December.

His sour-grapes reply included a defense of his non-run for the candidacy:

"As I said in the past and will reiterate again, Ron Paul has a zero chance of winning either the nomination or the Presidency," Trump said in a statement to CNN. "My poll numbers were substantially higher than any of his poll numbers, at any time, and when I decided not to run, due to the equal time provisions concerning my hit show The Apprentice, I was leading the Republican field."

Mr. Trump's language reinforces the wisdom of Dr. Paul's campaign staff in refusing to attend the event. Such an unquestionably biased response by the moderator will no doubt contribute to further characterization of the Trump debate as unbalanced and unprofessional.
