Government lies about inflation

The government clains the annual inflation rate is about 2%. This is obviously not the case as anyone shopping for groceries knows. I work in retail and decided to check prices on some basic items. What follows is a list of items and their price increase from March 2011 to December 2011 (9 months)

The results are quite interesting and prove the dishonesty of our government

Sugar 7%
Rice 4%
Pasta 9.5%
Canned Tuna 14%
Flour 6.5%
Corn Oil 16%
Wonder Bread 10%
Milk 13 - 30% (fluctuated throughout the 9 months)
Eggs 20-30%
Nuts (almonds, peanuts, pistachios) 2-7%
Bottled Water 6%
Coke/Pepsi 16%/14%
Fresh Chicken Breast 7%
Ziplock Bags 5%
Aluminum Foil 7%
Oranges 9%
Cherry Tomatoes 12%
Salt 10%
Pepper 18%
Toilet Paper/Paper Towels 5%
