Winning Iowa is Critical! The Importance of the Super Brochure ProjectSubmitted by Michael Nystrom on Tue, 12/06/2011 - 22:22
As Sofia put it on the Ron Paul Forums:
Out of all the weapons in our arsenal, this is the DEADLIEST...These brochures are like stealth bombers. The media can't see them coming!.....Just .55 each and mailed for you!
At this time, the Super Brochure has two active projects to reach voters in Iowa. The absolute deadline for these projects is Sunday Night! The brochures will then be trucked to Iowa on Monday to save on mailing costs.
- Iowa Independent Suptervoters (49,507 reached, 24% complete ) - DP thread on Independents
- Iowa Republican Supervoters (234,360 reached - 80% complete) - DP thread on Republicans
- Official Chip-in to help with this project
- Additionally precinct mailing is now open for South Carolina and Nevada)
To learn how to personally reach out to voters in Iowa, watch this video:
Q: Why isn't there a way to buy NH precincts? Why have South Carolina and Nevada taken priority?
A: The lists are not free. Second, there is a lot of planning and work that goes into preparing and cleaning the list to check the validity of addresses, and to make sure that duplicates aren't sent out.
The Super Brochure guys are working their tails off to try to pull this project off. From morning until night - this is what they are working on, and it is all they're working on - non stop. They are putting EVERYTHING into it, personally and financially. However, resources are limited and must be managed wisely
So far, the community hasn't responded quite as expected to this project. The Independent Iowa list is only about 24% completed. It would only take about $70K to finish off the Independents, and then it would be possible to move on to NH. But NH is just 10 days after Iowa.
The question is: Does it make sense to make a big investment in the NH list, if 1) Iowa Independents are not done, and based on performance so far, 2) the NH list may not get done in time?
SC and NV are much further out, so there is more time to spread the word and hopefully get people to participate in the program.
Believe me, they're doing everything they can with the limited resources they have. I have been doing everything I can to promote their effort. Is everyone here doing everything they can to help finish off the Iowa Independents?
Why This Project is Important
Marketing anything, including a presidential candidate, requires as much exposure as possible. We want Iowa saturated with Ron Paul's message. The more people see of Ron Paul, the more they will pay attention. The more they pay attention, the more they will listen. The more they listen, the more votes Ron Paul will get. And winning Iowa is critical! It is the first and therefore most important battle.
The Official Campaign is doing an excellent job with media and outreach.
- The commercials are great! They're a wonderful first point of contact. But they're only a soundbite - 30 seconds or one minute at most.
- The phone banking is excellent! It is another, more extended point of contact with another human being, and a Ron Paul supporter. But this too is of a limited duration.
The Super Brochure does not supplant the good work that the official campaign is doing - it compliments it.
The Super Brochure represents a potential third point of contact, and one of unlimited duration! Recipients can spend hours reading the material, and researching Ron Paul on their own with the links and resources provided in the brochure.
Have you seen it? The brochure itself is stunningly beautiful. The love and care that has gone into this project is truly inspiring. The pictures, the information and the resources have been painstakingly chosen for maximum effect.
Yes, the information in the brochure is old hat to us old hands here at the Daily Paul. But remember what it was like to learn about Ron Paul for the first time? It was the beginning of a journey.
For just 55 cents, you can potentially launch a fellow American onto that same journey of inspiration, education and discovery - the same journey you embarked on.
Somewhere, somehow, you woke up and were able to Ron Paul's message. The world has been a different place ever since.
The Super Brochure can be a doorway for someone else, someone who hasn't yet seen the light, and doesn't know the light of Liberty and freedom. Think of it as a Christmas gift for the extended Ron Paul family in Iowa.
There are new supporters out there waiting for us! They don't know they're supporters yet, but we know they are out there. We cannot leave them out in the cold. We have to reach them somehow.
It is such an important project. Erik and Curt have put their names and personal fortunes on the line for this, and their excitement is sustaining them as they are working, working, working around the clock.
Thank you for everything you do in the cause of Liberty.
Now if you could, please help us reach the remaining Independent Voters of Iowa!
Next Iowa Project
The third project, for lack of a better name (feel free to suggest one!), is called "Cases for Kids", or "Boxes for Brothers" (lol!).
Other Ways to Contribute.
- If you'd like your own supply of Super Brochures to distribute in your area, or use as an insert in your local newspaper, visit Ron Paul Products
- Please help spread the word on Facebook & Twitter.
- Call your friends, relatives, neighbors and Meetup groups. Ask them to sponsor one precinct, or more if they can afford it. Contact 3 Ron Paul supporters, and don't let them off the phone until they've bought a precinct!
and get a case or two. They're 12" x 12" x 6", and so packed with brochures that they weigh 28 lbs!
