Question concerning recruiting Blue RepublicansSubmitted by TBerg on Wed, 12/07/2011 - 21:44
I just came across an issue that I had previously not given thought to when bringing those from the left to vote for Paul in the primaries. I have been talking to a lady who's a full-blow democrat and Obama supporter, but she highly respects Paul's honesty and integrity among a field of clowns. So, I asked her if she would possibly consider voting for Paul in her primary, with both of us knowing full well that she is voting for Obama in the general election.
Her response was "No not possible. How would I vote in the Dem primary?"
I don't know yet if she's in a state with an open or closed primary. I'm under the assumption that if she's in an open state, she would be able to vote for Paul in the primary, as well as vote democrat in other elections during that time. Am I correct on this? Are there even other elections to vote for on the same night as the Republican Presidential primary?
If she is in a closed primary state, can she register Republican, vote for Paul, and then immediately rescind her registration as a Republican?
I appreciate your responses to this matter.
