Jon Stewart EXCELLENT Piece on the New American Detainee Bill in Congress

KUDOS again to Jon Stewart, featuring Rand Paul as one of the lone voices opposing the "establishment" in D.C. to defeat this bill.

And "good for Jon" breaking this down to the average American on "what" this means and "who" it may one day entail...

I'm telling 'ya, this guy is on our side!!!

So-called progressive Senators Dianne Feinstein, Dick Durben, Al Franken and Bob Casey all voted for the Defense Authorization Act.

So did so-called tea party Senators Pat Toomey, Scott Brown, Orrin Hatch and Jim DeMint.

Absolutely terrible.

I dont know how you all feel about s 1867

But I am pissed and not going to take these tyrants anymore! I am from Pennsylvania. I called tyrant Toomy and tyrant Casey I told them when they voted for this bill that they voted for war against the constitution! That means that they are at war with me because I take my oath to the constitution seriously not like them. I gave their office my name, address, phone number, and ssi number. I also told them that I refuse to be there slave and I WILL NOT COMPLY AND I CONSIDER THAT I AM AT WAR WITH THEM!

I am sorry but I can NOT stand by anymore and let our tyrant government do these war like acts to the American people with out standing up to them. Ron Paul needs to scream about the loss of our constitution more! In every debate he should bring this up and every time he is on tv, And us the army of Ron should be yelling about the Lose of liberty I been running 2 elections last year for state rep and this year township supervisor and that was about 80 percent of my campaign was the loss of the constitution . PLEASE PEOPLE yell from the roof tops call you reps write letters to the newspaper make youtube videos scream about the lose of the constitution and how Ron will help because if it is not revolution love it WILL BE REVOLUTION BLOOD!

I will call the senators that voted no and give them my thanks for being a patriot

Sincerely,
Matthew C Schutter

I wrote to Kay Bailey Hutchison about S.1867

This was her form response:

Dear Friend:
Thank you for contacting me regarding the new provisions for detainees proposed in Sections 1031 and 1032 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2012. I welcome your thoughts and comments.

Section 1031 of the NDAA establishes guidelines to allow U.S. Armed Forces to detain “covered persons” captured during hostilities as unprivileged enemy combatants, pending disposition under the laws of war. The provision defines a “covered person” as a person who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. This provision also applies to individuals who support al Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners.

Section 1032 requires U.S. Armed Forces to hold in custody as an unprivileged enemy combatant any person who is a member or part of al Qaeda or an affiliated entity, and who participated in planning or carrying out an attack or attempted attack against the United States or its coalition partners. The requirement does not extend to citizens of the United States. Also, the Secretary of Defense is authorized to waive required detention.

As the Senate considers the NDAA, you may be certain that I will keep your views in mind. I appreciate hearing from you, and I hope that you will not hesitate to contact me on any issue that is important to you.

Sincerely,
Kay Bailey Hutchison
United States Senator

Carefully worded to diminish constituent concern while denying nothing.

She is one of the slickest b*tches the devil ever created. Don't be fooled, she cares nothing for the common man. Her and Rick Perry are two peas in the same pod...

What really got me about the response....

The average dummy reads that response and thinks, "Yeah... I figured all those internet rumors were just make believe"

But if you REALLY read the response, it is actually purposely deceptive.

who were the brave "seven"??

who were the brave "seven"??

This made it to the front

This made it to the front page of Huffington Post and the comments looked mostly good! Maybe the casual democrats are starting to wake up?

Yep.

I used to be democrat because I liked Obama's speeches. You can obv see that I've done some reading since then lol. I didn't start looking for the truth until I witnessed the military industrial complex in action. Someone (libertarian in my shop) explained libertarianism because I was a democrat debating conservative principles (embarrassing, I know). My entire shop was converted when he started talking about these principles. It is very satisfying to see the success of this movement no.

"I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove."

Awesome!

Awesome!

Funny but when this defense bill passed

When this bill passed with the military detainment camp provision without trial I thought of British Red Coats knocking on doors to take the rebellious "terrorists" away. At first I was curious to know if my senators had voted for it but then I realized that with a vote of 93-7 what difference did it make. Politicians are politicians and not people of principle. Maybe they thought an orderly society at all costs when they voted for this.

However, sometimes I think that they must feel coerced with threat to life or limb and not just political expediency to vote in lockstep like they did with this bill.

Some people think that the psychology of comedy is a way of letting off terrible unconscious thoughts about things that cannot be spoken of.

Watch it.

Yes, the second half was also great. Watch it!

Way to go, Jon.

genious of Jon is irony-boy, is there plenty of that

when it comes to politics. Point it out and let the listeners decide. this guy's never going to be obsolete if he keeps pointing out the ironies.

Jon's so close yet so far away

He's now tackled the essence of our govt taking away our freedoms instead of alQueda and to a smaller degree the bankster [FED]theft of our financial freedoms. Now if he would just connect the dots for his audience-voila-the real terrorist: the FED and their accomplices, our govt. Not al Queda.

He's so close to Paul's ultimate message: Liberty[for all, here and abroad]. Is he able to make the leap to naming the Real Terrorists? Dunno.

This is a really good

This is a really good analysis! i've noticed this progression as well. Many liberals have a hard time seeing government as a potential persecutor and enemy of people's liberties in spite of all history and common sense and it takes a long time to shake their faith in something that they've put a religious like faith in. But he is starting to sound more and more libertarian. Baby steps maybe but steps nonetheless.

good point

I think that's the root of the progressive mindset, that government helps people.

You're absolutely right, if the progressive is increasingly able to imagine government as a persecutor their faith will be gradually undermined.

Jon's work on this is amazing...

He has a gifted way of bring important subjects into our homes in a way that no other can...I would say nearly as effective if not more, in five minutes as Ron Paul could handle the subject on a five minute segment on the news. Thank you Jon! Keep up the good work. I reposted this on my FB wall. In case you missed it, he had a good segment on Trump announcing his own debate...this just reconfirms that RP made the right choice!

9/11 Truth.

Factually incorrect, but otherwise excellent

The indefinite detention provisions for Americans were in the National Defense Authorization Act years ago; this year, they were just fiddling with the details.

Obama's High Value Detainee Interrogation program has already authorized torture for Americans, but that gets no press.

Notice, though, he WE are shaping the discussion now. WE, the alternative media, were the ones pushing this issue everywhere, while the MSM whistled along like nothing was happening. But there comes a point when in order to preserve any semblance of credibility they have to acknowledge what the real issues are.

Jon Stewart

Is the only liberal I like

Jon Stewart, A true "American" Patriot

It is not hard to tell that he puts America first. Bravo Jon Stewart. Thanks for your contrubution to liberty

Wow, I can't believe those words came out of our senators mouths

how pathetic is that? Except of course for Rand.

Jon, you rock!

Jon, you rock!

Good job, Jon. Again.

Good job, Jon. Again.

Great segment that

Great segment that unfortunately was followed by a bullshit segment where Jon parrots the War Party's incessantly repeated LIE that Iran is developing a nuclear weapon.

Every goddam news outlet across America just states it as a matter of fact that, why, everybody just knows while ALL 16 US Intelligence agencies and the IAEA agree THEY ARE NOT.

Not only funny but

Not only funny but informative, it was great.

I saw that, it was awesme.

I saw that, it was awesme. Since the antiwar left mostly did a disapearing act after their guy got in these times when principled liberals do say something are important. I hope Jon Stewart shames some of the Obamabots into remembering why they voted for him.

Jon Stewart does what he's told.

He speaks (writes) out both sides of his mouth. He has to or he wouldn't have a job.
However, he is more with us than against us since the establishment is totally against a free society.

So I give him some flight wings but not a medal of honor.

I don't think he gets to choose to be honest. He just tries to when he can and it's funny.

Funny as he is...

He's still a tool for the Divide and Conquer plan....D vs R's
