"On a blustery night in Ames, over 1,000 people showed up to hear presidential candidate Ron Paul's campaign speech at Iowa State University tonight. The event at the Memorial Union Great Hall and flowed into the Oak Room. With lines waiting, ISU staff opened an overflow room, campaign aides said."

Two questions:
1) Where is Ron's teleprompter ;-)
2) Look at that place... jammed to the rafters!! And lined up outside dying to get in and be close to their next President. Oh, the #2 question... are many (or any) of those kids NOT going to plow through as many feet of snow as necessary AND probably drag along 5 or 6 friends and caucus for Doc?

Maybe these students have video camera's?
So that they can record videos like this one from 2008 Ron Paul votes, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKQEQ7qHvgM&feature=channel_v... please watch right to the end! Its very important!
Amazing times
We are witnessing something amazing. I am so happy that I have become part of it. This campaign has given me hope that I didn't think I could ever have. God speed Dr. Paul..You truly are an Angel.

Thank you. But wasn't that a video clip of the event at the beginning of this clip?
Three thoughts
1) The folks at this rally alone equal more than 1% of the Republican caucus participants, based on 2008 turnout. Hope they all caucus and that Iowa does not make it difficult for students to take part.
2) If it is near exam time there the turnout is even more amazing.
3) Where's the damn video?
caucus
Those in attendance must get to caucus.

Does anyone here believe
that the Grinch or Willard has supporters this decicated and loyal? How many die hards will brave the harsh elements on primary day to get to the polls for the Grinch and Willard? My guess is that Ron Paul will get 100% turnout....Willard about 25% and grinch will get less than that.
Passion will carry the day on January 3rd. Believe it.
Boy...
Come along way since 2007...LOVE IT!!
A
video link would be amazing!
WOW
Being one of the "army" of supporters who was there I have a few things to say about this Youth summit.
It was my first time seeing Dr Paul in person and I was blown away.
He didn't say anything I hadn't heard him say before, but that wasn't the purpose of his speech. He was there attempting to reach voters who hadn't heard his message before.
I was amazed by the fact that he came out on stage, looked out to the audience and for 45 min without a teleprompter, no cue cards, not even a single glance down to the podium, he delivered his heartfelt honest speech. Again that 45 min without one note to remind him. I guess that is pretty easy for him though considering he has been saying the same thing for 30 years.
I went with the hope to just shake his hand and thank him. At the end of his speech we were informed he "had a few minutes" and would "meet as many as he could" before leaving. He then stayed for over 45min more while meeting everyone who wanted to meet him. I was more than humbled being able to shake his hand. I thanked him his response? He thanked me right back and told me he does all this for people like me (and all of you)
I don't think that this encounter could have gone any better for me. Ron Paul you have a supporter for life. I will be talking about you for the next 70plus years.
I've been fortunate to meet a
I've been fortunate to meet a number of young people who are Ron Paul Supporters - when just out and about...no 'organized event'. And they "get it"! So pleased you had this opportunity, and I thank you very much for posting about it.

WOW is right
After reading your comment, my eyes teared up. I don't think I know people with the qualities Ron Paul seems to possess. What character & genuine love of people. America you are a fortunate bunch, I'm thankful just to be able to recognize & appreciate just how special this man is. Thanks for the comment.

Hey guys, just wanted to give you a bit of insight to the event last night. I'm part of the Youth for Paul chapter at Iowa State. The chapter was officially recognized by the university as of yesterday, the day of the event. This meant we weren't allowed to run a table inside for the event up until the day before it was planned to happen. On top of this, the group was given a 1 week notice that we were now sponsoring the event and had to let everyone know. So, given these obstacles, we spent the week outside passing out flyers and chalking on all of the side walks. It is safe to say it was definitely worth it and I am ecstatic with how it all turned out.
Thanks for your efforts! Keep

I guess they needed Ratings or
is the population, now including the investment commuinity recognizing we are being led off a huge cliff. "Blitz" announced that at the beginning of the hour he would be interviewing Rand Paul. I guess he needs ratings cause we went through 40 commericals until he finally delivered. Thanks BLITZ, it was an honest interview.
Media is Blacking out Fast & Furious.. little things like collapsing an entire country.
Missed it
How was it?

Rand made great points.
I loved that he pointed out that both in Iowa and NH independents can vote and Ron is the most popular among them from all the candidates and even in a race against Obama.
He made strong points on fiscal issues and pointed that Ron Paul predicted housing crises in 2003.
I am searching for youtube but nothing so far.
