RT: Ron Paul says Bush was thrilled with 9/11

What do you make of this RT article?

Specifically, the Texas congressman said that the former president was pretty happy about the events. After all, said Paul, the attacks served as pretext to finally put American troops overseas in what instantly became a justifiable reason for war.

“Think of what happened after 9/11,” Paul told a crowd of around 1,000 in Ames this week. “The minute before there was any assessment, there was glee in the administration because now we can invade Iraq, and so the war drums beat.”

What’s more, said the presidential hopeful, is that a decade later, the current administration is creating excitement themselves over what is erupting with enemy forces overseas.

“That’s exactly what they’re doing now with Iran,” said Paul.

Everyone knows it's true.

It's just politically incorrect to tell the truth about it.

Political correctness is ALL about perpetuating lies, and suppressing truth.
Don't succumb to it.

They are taken it out of

They are taken it out of context. he said AFTER what happened on 9/11 The Bush administration was gleeful because they could go to war with Iraq.

And that IS what happened. They are now trying to say that Paul said Bush was happy that 9/11 happened.

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

Besides having a pretext to

Besides having a pretext to go to war with Iraq, the elites would have been extremely thrilled that they now had the ability to pass The Omnibus Counter-Terrorism Act; known to us now as The Patriot Act. Interestingly enough, The Omnibus Counter-Terrorism Act was first introduced to Congress in 1995 by the author: Joe Biden; I thought the Republicans hate what the Democrats create and vise versa. I suppose they have the unknowing majority of Americans believing that, but the truth is a different matter all-together.

Is there yet a link of this Ames speech by Ron Paul?

I would reserve any comments until I hear what Ron Paul said and in what context he said it.

Thanks, yes it is apparent

Thanks, yes it is apparent from this that he was taken way out of context.

I doubt this will play well

I doubt this will play well with the Republican "base", also it is unwise for Ron to ascribe "glee" to a decision to go to war. I'd rather he said they were opportunistic than gleeful.
