Wonderful way to end this debate.

With very positive remarks for Dr. Paul.

And his answer was the cherry on top.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

I agree with the other poster

The compliments were for political reasons so that Newt gets knocked out of contention for Iowa. Based on the analysis of the debate, Mitt Romney is going to have a hard climb in Iowa and that debate was more or less a poor performance based on previous debate performances.

Did you see that self-important adolescent roll his eyes and snicker when he assumed Ron Paul was talking to him?
Ron was talking to Rick Perry.

Santorum is sickening to look at and there are ignorant people in America that actually like this clown.

He's running to try to get his career going---not America.

“Give a man a gun, he can rob a bank. Give a man a central bank, and he can rob a country and the world.”

Well put

"Adolescent" is really the best way to describe that expression. Well, without using more colorful language, of course. Santorum can only dream about having such an impact upon people.

Blessed are the peacemakers, but elected are the war hawks.

The Same Thing Without the Annotations

And a Ron Paul 2012 tag at the end.

"The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident
which everybody has decided not to see."
— Ayn Rand (The Fountainhead)

This moment completely blew my mind last night.

It was like divine intervention. I could not believe what I was hearing. After 5 years of watching Ron get belittled, I nearly cried watching this play out. I can't imagine how Ron Paul must have felt.

His response at the end was so eloquent, honest and funny. He had the audience, the moderators, and all the other candidates in the palm of his hand. His smile at the end of his closing statement was the definition of sincerity. Ron Paul is my president and soon he will be America's.

Freedom Brings Us Together!

The conversations have changed across the country.

You have to be careful

guys. It is very nice to see all this love. But, unfortunately it was not genuine. This is political gaming at high level. Both Romney and Perry want Ron Paul to stifle the momentum of Gingrich, so the tried in the debate to boost RP. On the hand, RP knew what they are doing, that is why he was shining in the debate doing his stuff with no interruptions. At the end, Romney and Perry will open the flood gates of RP instead of stopping Newt.

It will

bite them in the butt if they keep this up. This might have unintended consequences.

May the LORD bless you and keep you
May the LORD make His face shed light upon you and be gracious unto you
May the LORD lift up His face unto you and give you peace

kickin it

Ron is changing gears as he gains space tween the cons on stage. He is the BOSS dam, ain't it Great!!!!!!

Those may be the most magical 54 seconds of Paul speaking...

Such a victorious and symbolic moment for Ron Paul.

- Basking in the undeniable support of puppet candidates who have finally come his way.

- And offering a simple, humble, and honest explanation of how freedom works to bring people together under the brilliant radiance of truth.

Ron Paul was emanating a level of consciousness seldom seen in the world. The man is a testament to human potential.

Funny you should add this video

Funny you should add this video, as I thought the same thing and submitted an article on precisely the same topic over at The New American magazine earlier this morning.

Sadly, I don't think he's winning the hearts and minds of the stooges on the stage. But he is winning the hearts and minds of the American people, and the politicians with their wet finger in the wind have calculated which way the wind is blowing.

Thomas R. Eddlem

This video made my day. Ron Paul is really winning "hearts and minds".

Why put words in Ron's mouth?

Ron's actual words (and expressions) speak well enough for us all. I think the inserted balloon thoughts/comments detracts (and distracts) from what was already a perfect exchange and interaction between the candidates.

i agree

i agree

Would have been interesting

Would have been interesting if Paul recommended another book to read about the Federal Reserve.

Either "The Creature from Jeckyll Island" or "End the Fed". Would have perhaps sparked the minds of some people to see what all the fuss is about.

One of the best closing

One of the best closing arguments to any debate, period.

ytc's picture

"We can all prevail and come up with the right answers". . .

and VOTE for Ron Paul: he will usher USA into the golden era of Mutually Assured Respect.

( I think his MAR doctrine might have had its first inkling of effect on the stage at this debate. . . in spite of the continuing efforts to spin the outcome by the MSM scam artists.)

I'm a Paulnut

You're a Paulnut.
Don't you wanna be a Paulnut too?

Everyone on stage seemed to wanna be except Santorum, who was shaking his head no - he's not coming his way. Aw Rick, you looked like a wet blanket up there. C'mon being a Paulnut is fuun!

Anyone can tell that RP is in a whole other league. Mentioning the Oath should make the older folks think.

How will you know these words are from me?

From "Conversations with God":
Mine is always your Highest Thought, your Clearest Word, your Grandest Feeling. Anything less is from another source."

The Hightest Thought is always that thought which contains JOY. The Clearest Words are those words which contain TRUTH. The Grandest Feeling is that feeling which you call LOVE.
Thank you Iowa, the Heart of America! You're a sweet place. God Bless you all!

It was a beautiful night.

I felt like RP was feeling the love - he was riding the wave of his growing support tonight. He seemed energized and more confident than ever during this debate. I feel like he can see the win really on the horizon. To look at it from a different perspective, I feel like our energy is really lifting him up. He's getting waves and waves of support on the campaign trail - and the numbers are bearing it out now. He is the front-runner tonight - and not just philosophically.

Yay Ron! Keep doing what you're doing!!!

RP is so graceful. This

RP is so graceful.

This performance will bring so many new people to the Liberty Movement.

"Air is the very substance of our freedom, the substance of superhuman joy....aerial joy is freedom."--Gaston Bachelard--

Yes, Wasn't He?

Lots of love in the air in Iowa. It was a beautiful night indeed.

"It was a beautiful night

"It was a beautiful night indeed."

I DVR everything & often rewind to listen to Ron a 2nd time, this segment was no exception, I watched it 4 times, 5 with this video.
I could write many things to describe this, but to simplfy I will just say ; life is amazing.

"Give me Liberty or give me death." Patrick Henry

Picture perfect ending!

I could not have ASKED for a better ending.

Yes, like others, I was waiting to see how Ron would respond to that question. Thanks to Rick P. and Mittens for setting him up sooooooooooooooo well...LOL!

Loved the look on Santorum's face after Ron's initial response there. Yeah, Rick, that's how a REAL candidate responds...LOL!

Bring on the Primaries!!!

Hammer the oath's they take

down on them, keep it going in each debate from now on
that was absolutely the first time I have ever heard
Dr. Paul use it, this was beautiful and by far the
best I have ever seen.

"Freedom is a right that can never be won in war, only by each individual "

oh yea...

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

I want to know who is so rude to be coughing while he speaks!

Do they not realize there is a mute function on their mic? This is the next president of the United States and they don't have the couth to mute a mic when they cough?

Formerly rprevolutionist

Someone ALWAYS has a cough

Someone ALWAYS has a cough when Ron is speaking.

Maybe Paul supporters can show up with bags of cough drops at the next debate and hand them out to EVERYONE.

Only the acceptance of the truth can defeat systemic evil.
