Iowa Debate: A Ron Paul Love-In?

The December 10 Yahoo/ABC News presidential debate in Iowa revealed a strong swing of candidates over to the issues and leadership of Representative Ron Paul.

"I have learned that you should never give up on your opposition," Paul told moderators George Stephanopoulos and Diane Sawyer. "Because if you're persistent and you present your case, they will come your way."

What prompted the remarks were compliments from Texas Governor Rick Perry, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Each of the candidates were prompted by Sawyer to describe one thing they had learned from their opponents on the stage. Rick Perry said:

Congressman Paul got me really intrigued with the whole, with the Federal Reserve, and I spent a substantial amount of time reading about a book called Currency Wars, the book by James Rickards. Congressman Paul is the individual on this stage that got me most interested in a subject that I found to be quite interesting and I found at the root of a lot of the problems that we have. And I thank you for that.

Mitt Romney said he had learned about Ron Paul's leadership and ability to inspire people. "One of the things about Ron Paul that always amazes me is when I come to a debate like this," Romney said, "the only signs I'd see are the Ron Paul people. In freezing temperatures, they are always there. He ignites an enthusiasm with a number of people. It's very exciting to watch."

These candidates are

These candidates are pandering to Ron Paul's supporters, not Ron Paul.

and they will again tomorrow night

because they know DP gets the loudest and longest applause at all of the debates. They won't/can't attack him, he's everybody's really smart and accomplished grandfather. They aren't pandering for his voters vote, they know that won't happen. They are pandering to Dr Paul for cabinet and ambassador positions.

One day, I'm gonna' change my name to Dale Lee Paul

Wow...

simply amazing to hear what other's around the world are saying about Dr. Paul! They know more about what is happening in America than most American's. We are the beacon in the world in regards to freedom, we are what others around the world look to for freedom and when we are coming dangerously close to losing our freedoms the rest of the world can see it... perhaps they can see it, once again, better than most of us American's. Thanks for sharing this blog article... incredibly eye opening!

What I saw on that stage last

What I saw on that stage last night, was Ron Paul being revealed as the obvious leader of the GOP. What I see happening now is an attempt to make Ron Paul the ceremonial leader, so to speak - the guy whose opinion everyone respects, and the guy whose endorsement everyone wants, but NOT A REAL CANDIDATE.

To turn that around, the campaign should focus on how Paul is electable, and how he's in it to win it - all the way to inauguration day. Let there be NO DOUBT whenever Paul does a media event that he is NOT interested in shaping the platform or being a kingmaker at the convention...he wants the White House. "O, you all agree with me, well great, and fortunately for you, I'm running for President, so you can vote for me!"

That's my two cents..

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Right on!

Right on!

I was thinking along the same line, but your quote is much better.

LAST chance to get word to Dr. Paul before Thursday's Debate! http://www.dailypaul.com/192118/debate-suggestion-box-top-10on

Thank you for the compliment,

Thank you for the compliment, unfortunately I've been busy and I guess I missed the deadline. So, I went ahead and emailed the campaign directly. I imagine they get hundreds or thousands of emails every day, so who knows if anyone will ever read my email, as my name doesn't mean anything to them.

But anyway, I'm happy to see that so many agreed with the sentiment I was trying to express. When a couple dozen political junkies like ourselves all agree, I'd say there's a good chance we're onto something - the nomination is sitting there, all Paul needs to do is reach out and claim it.

Here's hoping he does...

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

I took the

"Liberty" of attaching your post to that thread just before
Jefferson sent it out and he said he included it.
So Dr Paul will see it.

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, I was passing out Super brochures all day and setting brushfires of liberty.

very good idea

Thanks for posting this link.

Yes and One More Point

Let there be NO DOUBT whenever Paul does a media event that he is NOT interested in running as a 3rd party candidate.

And someone on here, as I

And someone on here, as I recall, had suggested that, when Dr. Paul is asked about a third party run, he turn it around: "Are any of the other Candidates thinking of a Third Party run?"

I can hear it now: Dr Paul says, "Well, I was wondering the same thing about the other Candidates! We need to ask them if they are thinking about a Third Party Run when I win the Nomination."

That idea might be worth passing along to the campaign...

"You should ask Romney about his 3rd party plans after I'm nominated."

I am a human becoming, help me to become.

Well Said...

The media is scrambling as every attempt to shut him down has blown up in their faces. They first tried to ignore him. Then Jon Stewart put an end to that. They've tried to mischaracterize his opinions. We answer in the comments under every video and article. Now they're trying to say his endorsement will be key to the eventual winner. He's been pretty clear that he won't endorse any of these clowns. I hope Iowans get it straight next month.

Thank you

In my opinion yours is the most important comment so far today - hope someone from the official campaign reads it and sends higher.

I have to agree with this agreeing about agreeing

I mean...hehe, I think the campaign needs to give RP a non-stop talking point that:

"Well since they are all agreeing with me now, I expect their votes in Nov. 2012!"

History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid.
Dwight D. Eisenhower

Yea I don't know who thought

Yea I don't know who thought of asking that question but it worked out brilliantly for Ron Paul. Even the casual undecided viewer must have been left with the impression that Dr. Paul is the intellectual and teacher of the republican party.

I really think that last night's debate was a tipping point from the neocon philosophy to libertarian and Austrian ideas. It was a serious harpoon in the fat ass socialist neocon whale that the republican party has been for decades.

agreed

Even mainstream media in UK agrees Ron Paul won the debate. Have a look at the Guardian coverage:

Look at the many comments from Ron Paul supporters under the article and how highly they are rated.

Very intersting article from

Very intersting article from the Guardian AND comments. I am surprised at the number of foreigner comments on Infowars from people over the World following our Nominating Process and pulling for Paul. (Canadians comment OFTEN.)
