Sick of the term "Isolationist?"...I sure am!

I read this article "Ron Paul, Spoiler" by George F. Will, [I do not know what the "F." stands for but I have some ideas]and just had to say something.

Here is the comment that I posted at the "Washington Post"...

I am so sick of pundits referring to Ron Paul's ideology as "isolationism!"

There is a HUGE difference between an isolationist and and a non-interventionist.

Ron Paul is a "non-interventionist."

Non-interventionism is the ANTITHESIS of isolationism!

Obviously George F. Will is a paid "SHILL" for the "ESTABLISHMENT!"

His job is to, try and destroy any candidates credibility, who rebukes the "status quo."

The better Ron Paul does, the more the attacks will increase. Mark my words.

If you feel inclined to learn something continue reading...

>>> Borrowed from "Wikipedia."

Non-interventionism, the diplomatic policy whereby a nation seeks to avoid alliances with other nations in order to avoid being drawn into wars not related to direct territorial self-defense, has had a long history in the United States. It is a form of "realism".

Non-interventionism on the part of the United States over the course of its foreign policy, is more of a want to aggressively protect the United States' interests than a want to shun the rest of the world.

Non-intervention, sometimes referred to as military non-interventionism, seems to some to be the antithesis of isolationism.

Participating in global economic affairs would likely boost trade and expand US diplomacy.

I believe that Americans are tired of all the WARS and LIES.

Ron Paul has been speaking TRUTH to POWER for 35 years.

It is time for this Great Nation to Change Course!

Please do the right thing...

"This columnist's wife, Mari Will, is an adviser to Rick Perry."

The above disclaimer is at the end of the same article here: http://www.deseretnews.com/article/700205967/Independent-vot...

How's that for pure propaganda. Why did they leave that little fact off at the Washington Post?

Interaction vs Isolationism

Interaction vs Isolationism

Interaction (trade, dialogue, travel, commerce, diplomacy, relationships) is not isolationism.

Antagonistic intervention (sanctions, threats, war) is isolationism. Sanctions isolate two countries from one another, and nothing isolates the relationship of two countries from one another more than war.

Interaction ≠ isolationism.
Aggressive intervention = isolationism.

PS - Other Countries

PS - I like dfwrider's idea of drawing parallels to other countries:

So what you are saying is that China (Russia/India/Japan etc.) is isolationist because they do not have troops or are launching invasions in the middle east? You recommend that China start intervening in the internal issues and politics of middle east countries to the point of meddling in internal politics, building bases, stationing troops, controlling governments, launching invasions, and occupations?

National Defense, Non-intervention is National Defense.

Intervention is National Offense.

We should use the positive term of National Defense instead of the negative term of Non Intervention.

Wouldn't hurt

Just for those who haven't heard him say it, that "Yes, there is a time for war, and I did vote to go into Afghanistan, but we need to be more careful with our reasoning, need to declare it, win it, and get out". This needs to be during a debate, when plenty are watching.

Plenty of neocons haven't heard him say it, and he always gets MAJOR applause when he does. He needs to set the record straight with those who have been told he is against war under just about any circumstance. That's all.

It's not pandering when it's true!

I'm sick of it too! Maybe we could

have a "Non-Intervention is not Isolation" twitter and facebook bomb on the day before the next debate! That'd be this coming Wednesday! It could create a buzz on the web and maybe help guide a part of the debate. This would be especially good because this is the most controversial issue to non Paul people and there are supposedly going to be up to 1,000 college students in the audience. I'm guessing a large portion is Paul's. Who knows, maybe this could be our night (they mostly are anyways).

How hard is it to tweet and post? Would it be worth it?
We've gotta act quick.

I like your idea...

but, at the moment my vision is starting to blur. I need some rest.

Let's revisit this tomorrow.

Oh, and get this...

With a little research on George, I learned that...

In 1991, Will married Mari Maseng, his second wife. They have one child, a son named David, born in 1992, and live in the Washington D.C. area. His wife Maseng is a highly paid political consultant and speechwriter, currently in charge of communications for the Rick Perry 2012 presidential campaign. She earlier worked on Michele Bachmann's 2012 presidential campaign, and offered her services to the Mitt Romney 2012 campaign.

Isn't he sweet, supporting himself, his wife, and now Rick Perry...by writing "hit pieces" on our man RP.

Pundits disgust me!

One more "bone" to choke on...

that I just dug up.

"Arguably the most distinguished of conservative newspaper columnists."

Syndicated columnist, television commentator, and conservative intellectual, George Frederick Will (born 1941) was influential in shaping the arguments that drove American conservatism.

Gag me with a freakin' pitchfork!

If he is so "conservative" then why isn't he supporting Ron Paul?

just him them in between the eyes

Tell them:

"Your definition of isolationism, is screwed up beyond all recognition because it is based on a desperate attempt to maintain an unsustainable military hegemony around the globe, that requires us to borrow over a trillion dollars every year. Further more, by your asinine standards, Japan, China, Russia, Britain, France, Germany, and every other modern first world nation state, are isolationists, because they don't have troops scattered across the globe. Your idiotic attitude of policing the world AT ANY COSTS, is destroying our monetary foundation. I hate your gutz, and I hope mother earth swallows you up in the middle of the night, your selfish, lunatic ranting, never to be heard again"
