INDEPENDENT VOTERS - July, 2011
(By MIKE GLOVER, Associated Press, Chicago Tribune)
"I think when it's all said and done, it's up to the independent voters," Gronstal said.
"They've often said it's good to have divided government."
Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans in Iowa by about 646,000 to 610,000, but there are more independent voters than members of either party: nearly 702,000.

These websites did not even exist back in late 2007!
Now they do...
Read this quote from the link above, and think of how it relates to Ron Paul....
"Above all, you are an American and you know what the Revolutionary founding Fathers sacrificed to give us this Republic, and how many lives have been lost since then defending it!
Well, you’ve come to the right place!
Our Constitutional Republic & our Liberties are very high-maintenance political machinery; we need all the ‘mechanics’ we can get!"

782,738 registered independents in Iowa!!!
Since late 2007, Ron Paul and his Campaign For Liberty has lit a fire in the minds of Independent men and women across America, but especially in Iowa!
Only 31 percent of Americans call themselves democrats

“The major movement seems to be away from the Democratic Party and toward independent.”
"Indeed, the number identifying themselves as independent shot to 38%. The last time it was that high just happens to have been 1994—when Republicans scored a similar midterm coup."

Independents across America,
Independents across America, (more than a third of the National vote) have been looking for a candidate to get up and vote for since Ross Perot.
RP...same initials!
When Americans hear the words, "3rd party run," many people think of Ross Perot. He won almost 20% of the vote back in 1992.
2012 is much different....Ron Paul not only has the solid backing of about 17% of the republican base, but he also has another solid 40% (at least) of the independent base.

Bump, big bump.
.
Thanks for the bump! I just
Thanks for the bump!
I just did some basic research...Iowa Republican Caucus results for 2000, 2004, and 2008.
The TOTAL number of people that voted in the Iowa Republican Cauci in the Hawkeye:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iowa_Republican_caucuses,_2000
2000 - About 88,000 total votes
2004 - About 124,000 total votes
2008 - About 120,000 total votes
That's it? I know, right...
Anywhoo...let's just guestimate and say that 10% of the roughly 700,000 registered independents in Iowa voted for Ron Paul.
That alone is more than 70,000 votes.
And when you consider how many total people voted in the Hawkeye Cauci in years past, well....fill in the blank.
