Seriously, it boggles the mind that the polls could be so opposite of:

The Money Raised
Boots on the ground
You tube videos
Candidate Songs
Meet Up Groups
Straw Polls
Blog Presence
Search Presence

and on and on and on. None of it makes sense.

It's called DEMOGRAPHICS... and some would say "Reality."

The polls mainly poll OLD voters.

All of the other measures you are citing are mainly YOUNG people, who were mostly NON-voters during prior elections.

Young people have to actually GET OUT AND VOTE on their own initiative... They have to find out their polling place, times and hours, pre-register or (if lucky enough to live in a same-day registration state) at least have sufficient ID along with them and ready when/if they DO get to the polls.

No one is going to stop by the homes of YOUNG people and tell them where their polling place or caucus is located. (OLD people normally already KNOW from previous years, and they are often told in person because they are on a database listing from previous elections.)

No one is going to call YOUNG people on their cell-phone and REMIND them to vote. (Campaigns often call up OLD voters because they are on the databases from previous elections).

No one is going to offer RIDES to young people and get them to the polls or caucuses. (Campaigns do this in droves for OLD voters because ...again, they are on the databases from previous elections.)


And even IF a young person IS somehow on one of those lists ...face it most likely their address and/or phone number -- not to mention their polling place or caucus location -- have CHANGED since two or four years ago.

Also, OLD people do not tend to be as likely to go out and get plastered and suffer from a hangover, or get all depressed about their boyfriend/girlfriend dumping them, or have cars that break-down, or rent that is overdue, or get caught up in SecondLife, or holed up in WoW, or otherwise somehow just "forget" because they are so busy...

Long and the short of it is that most OLD people vote out of habit; and MOST young people end up NOT voting.

ALL of those young Ron Paul Supporters -- in other words, most of the people on YouTube, MySpace, FaceBook, Meetup, etc -- they ALL have to actually GET OFF THIER BUTTS, GET OUT AND *ACTUALLY* VOTE!

So make sure you NAG the heck out of EVERY young Ron Paul supporter you know when your State's primary day comes around... because no one else will even know they exist.

The IOWA CAUCUS, because it is the first official record of the Peoples' Choice for President, is extremely important. People love to be on the winning team. The winner of the Iowa Caucus gains a tremendous psychological advantage over the other candidates. That's why so much time, energy, and money is spent in the first few primary states. In North Carolina, because of our late primary, we feel somewhat helpless and neglected. We are, but.....

The battle to take back America must be fought on many fronts. There is an easily accessible way for you to engage in the battle, even in Iowa and New Hampshire. You can help to ensure a true and accurate count of the Peoples' Vote - right from your own home. All it requires is a phone and a computer.

Here's how it works. Poll watchers in each individual Iowa precinct will be there to watch the vote and record the results. These results will then be transmitted to you by phone directly from the precinct. You will then upload the results to an Internet website. This way, we will be able to check whether the results reported by the Iowa Republican Party and the media are an accurate record of the actual votes in the precincts. Simple enough.

This is an automated signup. It's relatively easy to work through. However, several things are confusing.

One, when it asks what county and precinct you want to report, just choose any county. The Organizers will inform you later of the county they want you report, and,

Two, you will be asked to "Agree" to a Statement which says that you are a resident of Iowa. Don't worry, just "Agree". Your State of residence and address will be corrected on the following page. You will need to print out the corrected page and sign it. Really very easy.

Polls are unreliable - we all agree on that. Money collected is very reliable as we can count it like VOTES.

The criteria that FOX news should use to establish credentials for the debate is the following:

Only candidates who received donations of at least ten million dollars from at least 100,000 different people in the fourth quarter.

Lets see who would that include/exclude?

the republican causus counts all votes, i saw on cnn just a few minutes ago that they keep the popular vote tally secret and only announce the amount of the delegates each candidate recieves . i'm really confused now. whats the point of the straw poll vote if the delegates are the only thing announced? anyone know what this crap is all about?
