What happened with the video?

What happened with the video? It's gone!

"When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty."

I went to a debate watching party

at the Washington State Ron Paul headquarters tonight.
The place was packed, everyone was pumped and we all thought
he did great!

I wish Paul would have

I wish Paul would have answered the Iran questions with something like. "If it came to that and our Congress passes a formal declaration of war on Iran, as President I would fight it, win it, and get our troops home as fast as possible."

I think that would ease the fears of the Neo Con's on that issue.. However that may have been a setup question..

He said that last night in response the the B.

*

completely agree

with you. Paul wouldn't be a dictator....if there is overwhelming support from the American people to go to war and it was deemed our national security was at risk then the congress would vote on it...we'd go over there in full force and win it and bring the troops home.

Paul has actually said this before...he needs to say it on a stage like these debates to ease the scared little people's minds.

What don't you understand?

A lot of us are Ron Paul followers BECAUSE he doesn't want to bomb places like Iran.

Also, giving advice is ridiculous. You sound like another arm chair quarterback thinking you know what you're talking about.

I don't see anything wrong with what JayDee said.

But, after saying, "If it came to that and our Congress passes a formal declaration of war on Iran, as President I would fight it, win it, and get our troops home as fast as possible."

I would add,
"But, I would strongly argue against the necessity of going to war over this issue." (And then list all the reasons why.)

What's wrong with someone saying I think he should of said this or that? I think it helps us all with our talking points to consider different angles and points of view.

Wow that was a rough debate.

Wow that was a rough debate. Paul stuck to his guns though and did very well.

The Logical End of War

Without naming specific candidates, Ron's campaign should air an advertisement similar to the one LBJ used against Goldwater in 1964 showing a mushroom cloud and implying it's the logical end of neoconservative warmongering.

Neo Cons are in the audience

With the Ron Paul people.

The applause for the other neocons are from neocons.

Remember when you were a neocon? Hmmmm? There's lots of you out there on Daily Paul. I've read your posts admitting you USED to be one. Are you now critizing the man that brought you out of your stupor?

I'm sick of all this negativity. You gripe about Ron needing to be more aggressive or have 1,2,3, talking points, blah, blah blah. Holy crap, he was the most aggressive I've ever seen him and he frickin' attacked Bachmann. Gave her a spanking... she deserved it, little whiny wench.

He talked over the time limit. He didn't submit to their little stupid rules.

Stop with it now. He was awesome tonite. He was even awesome when they only gave him 89 seconds. But they suffered blowback on that one, didn't they?

The TV audience is different than those in the live one. They'll get it. Even if they just get some of it, if they are really paying attention, they'll look into it further.

All you whiners out there, tomarrow is another day. See what kind of blowback happens tomarrow. Santorum, Perry, Bachman are done. Ashes. Poof.

Mitt and Grit, they're grinding to a halt. Paul just gains more power.

There are no more debates. YAY! So get on the phone and start calling Iowa and NH tomarrow.

Paul is doing 10 townhalls next week! What are you doing?

yeah, for 30 years of service RP deserves better

from us.

Let's remind people that neocon trolls come here as well to try to dispirit the revolution. The revolution moves on and will prevail in the end.

Finger On the Trigger (Trigger Happy)

Well, over the course of a few decades, you've made a few enemies among your neighbors. Enough is enough of the partying, stray dogs, yellin' and screamin' kids, etc. At various times, some of those neighbors have threatened your life. Among your few friendly neighbors, you hear that some unfriendly neighbors have systematically purchased all sorts of lethal weapons. You muse in your mind whether those neighbors intend to harm you with the new weapons. If paranoia reigns, you'll decide to take unilateral action. Who knows what additional calamity such action will provoke. Then again, you just MIGHT eliminate your enemies in the process of acting on your paranoia.... maybe, but you might miss one or two. Well, if you further ruminate over the issue, you just might decide to WAIT until those unfriendly neighbors actually ATTEMPT to use those weapons of destruction against you. After all, those unfriendly neighbors will have to act without the knowledge of your friendly neighbors, gain access to you and your property without your knowledge, and avoid harming any neutral neighbors in order to execute their dastardly deed. IF ... and it's a big IF at that. From this scenario, one can see the effectiveness of PARANOIA in inadvertently inflaming a whole neighborhood in hostilities. Bachmann should NOT be allowed access to ANY weapon of mass destruction. She's dangerous to herself and the republic.

Prudence Before Recklessness

Before inflaming a whole neighborhood, a more prudent course of action might entail an attempt to communicate with your unfriendly neighbors directly or through a proxy and pursuing defensive measures.

Watched the replay of debate-Dr. Paul smoked them all!

We all watch nervously and in the moment our nerves taint our perception. Without the nerves the second time around-he did great! The people who are sick of debt and wars will dig deeper-we have to have faith in that.

An idea whose time has come can not be stopped by any army or government-- Ron Paul 2012

Hopefully Leno

will bring up the Bachman war mongering stuff -
that would be great to show how Ron Paul is the ONLY true peace candidate

At the fourth and last

At the fourth and last segment of the debate, they completely ignored Ron Paul. Must have wanted to shut him up after the foreign policy "issue".

It is an enormous simplification to speak of the American mind. Every American has his own mind.

Did you hear the guy in the croud

when Romney said biometric ID.

After the Bachman pimpslap....

I wish he had turned to Newt /Romney and said that draft dodging chicken hawks shouldn't be sending our children off to die in needless wars. :)

I would like to find that, too.

Iran/Foreign Policy

If he is going to win this thing, HE MUST come up with a quick, memorized 5 (or 6 or 7 or whatever) point talking point that he goes through fully every time. Instead of trying to answer the question exactly as posed, or trying to come up with an answer on his feet, he needs to do like Romney or whoever else where they say "HERE ARE THE 5 POINTS ABOUT MY FOREIGN POLICy: 1) THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT THEY ARE DEVELPING NUKES ... 2) OUR CURRENT POLICY ENCOURAGES THEM TO GET NUKES BECAUSE ____ 3) I AM THE ONLY CANIDATE THAT WILL FULLY EMPOWER ISRAEL TO ATTACK THE SITES IF THEY EXIST AND FEEL THE NEED 5) IF THERE IS EVIDENCE, WEWE DO NOT GO TO WAR WITHOUT A DECLARATION OF WAR ... 6) I WAS THE ONLY ONE RIGHT ABOUT ALL OF THIS IN REGARDS TO IRAQ, EVERYONE UP HERE SUPPORTED THAT INVASION BASED ON LIES .... 7) WE ARE BANKRUPT AND CANNOT AFFORD IT ... 8) 9) 10)..." .

Whatever best arguments exist, he needs to be able to rattle them off in a coherant way in a list that even if you disagree with 1 or 2 or 3 of the points, you will have to concede the other points, and if you agree with ANY of the points, then you acknowledge he is right. I have done this sort of argument/discussion with every Republican that I know, and in the end you win the argument because they end up agreeing -- at worst -- that Israel can do it themselves, and that we should at least declare war or we are broke.

He has to figure out a way to answer this with talking points every time. If he only has time for one or two points, then he should have a concise 10 point (or whatever) agenda posted on the internet and say specifically he has a 10 point plan or whatever, list a couple most appropriate and recommend going there to read them.

He's got to figure this out, because he is CORRECT but he is losing the battle of rhetoric.

Yeah,

Look how well that worked for Cain. Every time he spoke this is exactly what he did, counting on his fingers.

absolutely agree. He would

absolutely agree. He would get the applause line and make people think.
