I think the last 5 months has been smoke and mirrors - while we dump money and time on Newt and Mitt. While we watch the flavors of the week come and go. Who has never lead?
Rick Santorum - who will they say had a shocking performance in Iowa if he comes in 4th? Then it will give him momentum in NH and South Carolina. He is dead last right now.
Problem is, once he catches fire there is no time to refute his positions. The next couple of weeks we have to bring out Santorum's positions before Iowa votes, you can not let this guy sit there for the perfect timing. Get out there and crush Newt and Mitt, but go after Santorum too.
Gingrich and Romney are distractions, I'm telling you.

UPDATE 2: Like I said, Santorum is the choice and if he jumps to 3rd place in Iowa the MSM and establishment will say he has huge Momentum - REMEMBER HE DOES NOT HAVE TO WIN for the media to make a big deal out of it.
UPDATE 3: Well it's caucus eve and supposedly Santorum is in a statistical dead heat with Ron and Mitt.
As I said earlier Santorum has many skeletons in the closet and can be slowed or taken care of.
I see finally people putting out Rick's record and questionable personal background.

My take, I think Paul will win and it's because of the dramatic and nasty way the media has gone after him. If he was not polling high enough to win, you wouldn't see the hype for Santorum.
I'm sure Paul's internal numbers show him ahead.
The caucuses were won by two major criteria when Obama won Iowa and beat Hillary. Organization and the influx of New Obama supporters (independents and young voters). Sound familiar?

He won't get close in NH., but if Perry Drops out he will do better in SC.
Look for Ron Paul to get a huge bump in NH for Ron Paul.

He has a majority of Ron Paul supporters running the state GOP organizations in Oregon and Washington State.
I think Ron Paul took off them off their guard in the Northwest States, I am calling for wins in Oregon and Washington state.

Obama is the establishment choice and he will be the last president. The elections are for entertainment purposes to keep people occupied while the NWO is being implemented. Santorum is the establishment pet ringer like McCain was and his VP could be Jeb Bush. If there is an election (which I doubt) it will be Obama. This is my speculation and I have no proof of any of this but just a gut feeling.

There is a lot of evidence pointing in this direction of Obama as next president. Romney is also very aware of this. His non-rivals in Newt/Santorum/Paul are not aware.

I think it's important to say... anyone but Ron Paul is the establishment choice. We can't sit here and try to determine what's really on their minds because all of them have compromised their very souls in order to get elected, and that's really all the establishment needs. They would be behind Romney just as much as Santorum. And proof of that is all the bankster/wall street funding Romney gets. They all represent the statist party, bidding for control of Slavery, Inc.

I still think Mitt was originally the annointed one, but he underperformed. Santorum is the backup and Newt the distraction. Neither of them has gone after Paul directly so far.

Romney let Santorum has 3 wins.
Romney did not run neg ads or speak negatively of Santorum, allowing him to win some states thus far. Thus, Romney never underperformed, but was right on cue.
Santorum is the chosen 'cons alternative' that will not win, in order to keep anti-estabishment candidates away.

I have noticed for some time now that the radio talk show neo-cons have been talking up Santorum. Rush, Levin and Hannity all have been down on Romney, Gingrich and very down on Paul. Santorum is the most pro war with Iran from the fundamentalist christian perspective and therefore gets the pro Israel support. I'm not sure how any group can be confident in Romney, he won't hesitate to change his positions and his Mormon religion may conflict with the pro Israel, pro war lobby. Ron Pauls positions are very anti war and that won't ever change. When Newt Gingrich came out with a promise to audit the Fed and fire Ben Bernake he lost his "insiders" card. That leaves crusading Rick (bomb them back to the stone age) Santorum as the only choice left for the establishment pro war crowd. Good call Joe.

When I posted this in December, Santorum was dead last, never had risen above 1%, and some of you fellow DPers laughed and voted it down. The point was to stop his campaign before it got started, but nobody listened until it was too late.
Now people are scrambling to get the genie back in the bottle.

This post, made in mid-December of last year, was pretty prescient. I recall at the time I thought to keep this bookmarked to see if it panned out. Santorum may quickly fall, but right now, he appears to be the new anti-Romney GOP flavor of the week...until Ron Paul takes MAINE!!!

Yep there were signs this would happen, and I have been campaigning since high school for Reagan in 1984, then Buchanan in '92, '96, 2000, then Paul in '08 and Paul now. I have seen it all, I have come to learn to take yourself outside the bubble of the campaign you are working in and look to see what the influences are. There were are a couple of big influences this election cycle.

OBAMA. The game now is to savage the republicans during the primaries. The media is pushing frothy now because it is a good story, and they can easily bring him down later.
