Fox's Lame Excuse

0 votes

Source: CNN: Fox is for sure excluding Dr. Paul from its televised debate. This is about the lamest excuse I've ever heard:

The network said it had limited space in its studio -- a souped-up bus -- and that it invited candidates who had received double-digit support in recent polls.

Plus it isn't even true. Fred Thomson is invited, but:

Paul was tied with Thompson for fifth in New Hampshire in the most recent Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll, each with the support of 4 percent of likely voters. Among all New Hampshire voters, Paul led Thompson 6 percent to 4 percent, but that was within the poll's margin of error.

Fox's tag lines are: "Fair and balanced" and "We report you decide." What a sick joke. Woe to the people who actually think they're getting the "news" when they watch television, especially Fox.

I heard the Campaign was planning a rally for the same time, but haven't heard anything more...What's up with the grassroots?

boycotting works, its a form of voting.

He's 9.4% last I knew

Ron is 9.4% and Fred is about 2% according to LOCAL polls...so he well qualifies for the ABC, why not the FOX?

In the CNN video, he states that the NH GOP is threatening to withdraw support if he's not included.

I believe that

our good Dr will do better not to be on that forum. He never gets a good question and rarely gets sufficient time to explain himself. I have no doubt he will win Iowa and NH without Fox help

11% Thompson 3% Paul

"In a nationwide poll conducted December 14-20 by The Associated Press and Yahoo, Thompson had the support of 11 percent of GOP voters and Paul was at 3 percent."

If Fox is using that as their benchmark then I can see their reasoning. It seems reasonable to have only candidates that have at least 5% or so. The AP and Yahoo seem relatively trustworthy. I really hoped Ron Paul would be able to get himself into the top 4 by now.

I think if CNN had treated him more fairly in their earlier debate (by not ignoring him and leaving him until last) he would have had higher numbers by now. CNN made it look like he was irrelevant fringe which just wasn't fair.

Register as Republican and Vote for Ron Paul

It's not right no matter

It's not right no matter what you say about it...

Ron has raised more $$ than any other GOP candidate. He has the most visible support than any other GOP candidate. The polls are only polling "likely Republican voters" which means the less than 10% of Republicans that voted for Bush in the primaries. There is no way Paul is behind Thompson

is there any chance that a high placing in IA would make them

change their minds?
I know time is short, but the coverage they would be garunteed would be incentive enough to make it happen.

Dr. Paul should do his own thing that day.

Besides, Fox only wants to have Rudy McRomneysonby. Let them have their way on that, even when Ron Paul exceeds expectations in Iowa and Fox is begging to have him so they can try to destroy him. Maybe if Ron Paul holds his own forum or whatever, he could invite Duncan Hunter, who I'm sure is also being left out.

Fox News Corp and Murdoch

Why is this such a surprise? Murdoch is backing Clinton. That is why the stooge Huckster is being elevated above his own intelligence because he will be easy for Clinton to beat and easier to beat than either Dr Paul or even Romney. Murdoch is being financed by elite bankers to shape the news and his militia of creeps like Hannity and O'Reilly are taking orders.

Get off your keyboard and get your boots on and go outside and get the vote in, pass out leaflets, put up signs. Strike back with votes.

You can deal with boycotts later by having a proper and coordinated "hit their pocketbook" event.

I support this 100%.

I support this 100%.

use the media AGAINST the "media"

Just know that NONE of these networks like each other and would love nothing better than to point at one of their competitors in a demeaning spotlight of controversy.

Sooooooooooo use this to your/our advantage by local protests at Fox affiliates and make SURE to INVITE OTHER AFFILIATES to cover your protest.

News stories on the weekend are sparse and most local stations are LOOKING for stories to cover (and controversial ones, all the better ). Most of the weekday news comes from local, state and national government, but not so on the weekends when these offices are closed. Point being, you have a VERY good chance to get other affiliates in your market to cover your Fox protest.

Just words to the wise (and angry )...

We can beat this!

The best thing to do is turn it around in our favor. Every Ron Paul Meet Up Group across the country should gather at their local Fox Outlets with protest signs on that Sunday, the day of the Fox Forum Be sure to call your local rival network and get it on the local news. More people will watch their local news rather than a Fox Forum and we will be able to touch people who wouldn't watch Fox news at all. Ron Paul would get MORE free press on Jan 6, and I'm sure the local rival news channels would LOVE to cover the story AND the local news will run the story 3 or 4 times in a day! Huge Rally

We need them to be able to hear us on the bus and on TV. They need to fear us. We are not going away and our voices will be heard. I will be there in NH. Spread the word. How about a Teaparty email.

Fox owns the microphone, but

that doesn't mean that it's the only one in town. I expect this to blowback pretty good on Fox, and I hope it does. Their obvious smear is pathetic to American politics and civility. I hope the campaign will use this lemon to make lemonaide.

A People's Forum?

What if he had his own forum and all the grassroots people brought one person each who does not know Dr. Paul and are undecided?

You could have it at the same time, or right after (he could answer all the questions that the Faux forum responded to).

Either way, it needs to be publicized and sent to all the networks.

Should Dr. Paul join if invited after Iowa?

I can only assume (I have been a little out of touch for the last few days) there are big Plans for Jan. 6th?

A rally? A huge pooring out of individuals and a Media event? Perhaps Dr. Paul answering the questions asked of the faux bus? Perhaps the NON-faux media outlets would like a competing event?

Given such plans are no doubt in effect... I remember the candidate forum where Dr. Paul was excluded in Iowa... When Dr. Paul comes out in 3rd or better in Iowa.. Should these plans be dropped when faux then invites him? Why give faux that much legitimacy?

Wouldn't it be better to extend those Jan. 6th plans, and exclude faux? Make it an honest discussion on Dr. Paul's message, rather yet another set of useless questions for Dr. Paul and 25% the airtime mitt and rudy get... Wouldn't the rest of the media give Dr. Paul a huge exposure, rather than give rudy, mitt, mike et al any time on stage with there better...?

Just a morning thought....

Let's Have 5000 People Surround the Bus

Has anyone seen the youtube video "Battle at Kruger"
http://youtube.com/watch?v=LU8DDYz68kM

It shows a pride of lions who attack a herd of water buffalo, The lions get one of the small buffalo. At first the herd of buffalo run away. But then 5 minutes later, they organize themselves and come back and surround the lions against the edge of a lake. It's a great scene. About 100 buffalo lined up in formation staring down the lions. They are mad as hell and aren't going to take it any more. I have the same vision for us.

What if we had 5000 people coming in from all over. We all quietly surround the bus. We have signs saying things like "Fox is Afraid of What Ron Paul Will Say" or "Why Are They Afraid of Ron Paul?" or "They Won't Let Ron Paul Tell You the Truth"

It can be like the last scene in the movie "Pay it Forward"
http://youtube.com/watch?v=LU8DDYz68kM

Thousands of people come from all over to quietly pay tribute to a young boy who was killedd. They have candles and they quietly come up and toss some flowers on the pile.

That would be an amazing scene. We can have the blimp come up and take some aerial photos of it.

Fox puts its own needs ahead of democratic process

This is farcical. They can't fit Ron Paul on the bus? He's not that big a guy, you know. Ron should send them a measuring tape and his vital stats.

Can't Help But Wonder

I can't help but wonder....

If RP surprises everyone and comes in 1st in Iowa, will Fox *then* invite him to the NH forum? Will there then suddenly and amazingly be "room" for 6 candidates to attend, where before there had only been "room" for 5? Wouldn't we have to assume that Fox would then have to take away an invitation previously given to one of the other candidates?...you know...because space is unfortunately so limited.

It's the "short" bus ;)

and only CFR members are allowed...

dur dur dur!

haha

lol

lol

HAH

This one actually got me to belly-laugh - thanks!

Other polls

say that Ron is 9% and Fred is 2% so yes, it makes no sense for FOX to do this. I have not heard anything about what the alternative is.

A Revolution is growing

This is just the beginning

Michigan Patriot

RP (Rosa Parks) in 1955 didn't give up her bus seat

and RP (Ron Paul) in 2008 shouldn't either. The discrimination continues. Make signs and humiliate fox news.

Excellent post, please send that comment to Fox News and ABC

Is this event for sure, because I have a group of people from all over the USA ready to go

love a Rosa Parks connection and he shares the same initials RP

afterall this event is taking place in a bus.

And why they hell is it taking place in a bus anyway? That seems so stupid.
