Putting the Super Brochures to Good Use

... that Iowa had such great beaches!

Hi I am in Oregon. When the Brochures first came out a month ago I ordered 1,000. I figure they will be the best way for me to help. I have been going to Christmas Bazaars and Gun Shows at my local county fairgrounds. They let me stand near the door and hand them out but I had to get a free permit so they know who I am. I hold a handful in one hand and one in the other and just hold it up. I ask them questions like do you know Ron Paul or would you like to know more about Ron Paul or Would you like a free Ron Paul Brochure that tells what he stands for. Sometimes I just hold a flyer up and they come to me. Some just look the other way when they walk by, Some say I like him but he doesn't have a chance to win. Thats when I try to get a conversation going. I think that will be an easier sell after he wins Iowa and New Hampshire. I also stand at the door of the post office. I open the door for ladies with lots of packages then catch them on the way out Most of them take them on the way in and the post office works very good for me. I do like the door handle idea. Usually I see flyers behind the windshield wipers but it pisses me off when someone leaves them there because I usually don't notice it until I am already in the car then I have no choice I have to get back out and get it. That turns me off in the get go. I think the door handle is great. Even if they don't like it in the door handle they will not drop it on the ground they most likely will lay it in the seat and sooner or later they will look at it. Once they read a little they will probably finish even if they don't like Ron Paul to start with. I am going to try it then hang around and see the response when people get back in their cars. I have been standing across the street at the main entrance of our local Costco and hold a sign. but really would like to put flyers on cars there. It would be quick and easy and probably costco employees would not have a chance to run me off. Just my take.

If someone ever put something in my door handle I would be extremely turned off and pissed. Even if it was a ron paul card.

You have to respect peoples cars. I love mine to death and its my baby. I don't care if you put it under my windshield wiper because its on glass, but if you put it anywhere near my paint I will ultimately hunt you down and ... you know the rest.

Please respect peoples property. Putting it on a windshield is far better off than potentially pissing of people who love their cars.

EDIT: I just bought a 100. I'll leave them around shops and places I visit and talk to the local businesses with them.

Different things work for different people. You'll have to find what works best for you.

I'll give you guys some tips here.

Approaching people does not work for all people. IF you can do that do that, if people seem scared off by you when you approach them (large men this is you I'm talking about) try to stand in high traffic areas so that people are approaching you, smile and make a connection with them that way. LIKE them. Hold no more than a 3 inches of flyers in your hand.

Do not give them more than 3 or 4. Any more than that and they will end up in the garbage.

When you are flyering cars an alternative spot is the mirror. it is less of a obvious spot and works well. you can slide it up between the plastic and the glass on the bottom part of the mirror and tuck it towards the window. (hard to explain but works well also good for cars with downward shaped handles) NEVER flyer cars if it looks like it's going to rain. NEVER flyer the window wipers. They say flyer only the driver side.. this is true EXCEPT at events, such as sporting events. In that case you want to flyer the passenger side because almost nobody goes alone and the passenger A) won't know if it's ok to throw away and B) may want something to look at on the road.
