Campaign...please say "No" to Fox
I have been thinking about this a lot. I am not pleased by Fox's exclusion of our Dr. Paul. I am not pleased with their general lack of honor. So...considering this is the final slap in the face, and we are going to take Iowa and NH...
I feel the campaign should sever ties with Fox, all together.
They clearly do not want him, and we certainly do not need them.
CNN and MSNBC are starting to wake up, which is good. They have better ratings right now, anyway.
I think that this idea should continue all the way through Dr. Paul's presidency. This would teach the Old Media not to shun candidates and try to select for the public who is electable.
Just my .40 cents worth (whoever came up with that "adjusted for inflation" thing, is brilliant!)...

Ron Paul SHOULD SAY YES
Unfortuately, this may be good in theory, but Ron Paul MUST reach all of the Fox News viewers. He needs to spread his message. At this moment in time, I don't think he can afford to miss out on any debates or forums. As another user on this site said, "he must win hearts and minds."
Hi, I like Macs and Ron Paul.
Good Cop Bad Cop
M. Raborn While I don't claim to be some political guru, but I know that the "good cop bad cop'" strategy often get results. If Dr. Paul or the campaign does not want to appear to be rude or condescending to FOX, they can put the blame on his supporters. That we feel Dr. Paul was insulted and we are pleading for him to refuse all offers by FOX . We might accept a personal admission that FOX has been "unfair and unbalanced" and then we could use that as evidence before the FCC.
I truly wish Dr. Paul would turn down the late invitation by FOX. It is clear it was offered only because of pressure and I think Dr. Paul can do better staging his own press conference.
M. Raborn
Yes... as long as Dr. Paul gives his reason...
"I no longer grant interviews to second-tier networks."
Plano TX
That would be too-good
Even if he only did it for a week, it would be a week of hilarity for me. Then he'd look like a good guy for relenting and deigning to grant interviews. Great idea!!
JMR
Furthermore
In addition to RP declining Fox's upcoming invitation, I strongly support RP declining ALL upcoming Fox media invites (except other debates), UNLESS the invite is for primetime (O'Reilly or Hannity) for the FULL hour.
RP will have that leverage after shocking in Iowa.
Based on how Fox and their talking heads treat Dr. Paul
Why would he even want to appear on Fox in any capacity? Without Ron Paul in their debates they would lose a lot of viewers. Because his supporters would tune them out.
You have to believe in Ron Paul.
I'm sure Dr. Paul can handle all of the lies that the FOX News people ask him about. He's got truth on his side.
Hi, I like Macs and Ron Paul.
it will be funny
when here in about 48 hours Fox comes back to Ron Paul and says "we changed our mind. will you please come to our little forum?"
I fully expect Paul will say "I would have a few days ago, but since that time I have excepted other commitments. Maybe you should send one of your reporters over to cover the much larger Ron Paul rally that all the other networks are covering"
lol -
and think about all the press RP would get if he said NO. HA!
interesting, but does it beat reaching some more conservatives and maybe waking them up to the neo-con lies that have taken over the Rep party?
I believe there is still hope for them, I see it when I talk to them.
The message is powerful, like the Dr. says. So, maybe he should accept?
This is just another example of what has been going on with the campaign , no matter what happens we end up coming out on top.
With Ron Paul's integrity and consistency, and wisdom - and the mesage of freedom and fiscal sanity and non-intervention - we can't lose.
Give them a lesson
I think what I had in mind when I wrote this was to teach the old media a lesson. The lesson being this: "We the People" will no longer tolerate their bias.
The media that used to report the news, is now a purveyor of public opinion. I say, "Cut 'em off." Dr. Paul has already shown his metal to anyone that would take the time to watch this forum.
I would like to say something like this to the oldmedia:
Attention Old Media - STRONG MESSAGE FOLLOWS...
Report the news (fair and balanced, as you advertise), or lose your revenue!
Anyway, it is just my opinion! There is a reason I am not a press secretary!

READ-DEBUNKS FOX REASONS FOR RP EXCLUSION
http://www.presidentelectionpolls.com/2008/articles/ron-paul...
Here are the reasons it is said that Ron Paul has not been invited to the Fox News debate and our debunking of those claims.
Not Polling Double Digits Nationally
There were four democratic candidates polling in the double digits nationally at this same point in time in 2004 according to NBC News. Those candidates were: Howard Dean, Wesley Clark, Joe Lieberman, and Dick Gephardt.
The two candidates with the most delegates to the Democratic convention were John Kerry and John Edwards -- neither of which received double digits.
NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll
Mid-date: 1/11/2004
Howard Dean 24%
Wesley Clark 19%
Joe Lieberman 12%
Dick Gephardt 11%
John Kerry 7%
John Edwards 5%
Al Sharpton 5%
Carol Moseley Braun 3%
Dennis Kucinich 2%
Unsure 9%
Other 1%
None of these 3%
Eliminating Ron Paul would be foolish under historical precedent when you consider the fact that Ron Paul has been polling just about as well as John Edwards and John Kerry were in 2004
Definitely Agree
I definitely agree as this was my position from the beginning.
If Ron Paul wins Iowa, no one will be interested in a forum in which Ron Paul does not appear. Everyone will be wanting to hear more about this new candidate who has taken everyone by surprise. There will be enough interest in Ron Paul that he can run his own televised event at the same time and steal most if not all of Fox's audience. I predict very low ratings for their forum.
I agree
I also agree. Debates are for sound bites, glib jabs, and posturing. That is not Dr. Paul's stock in trade. Dr. Paul deals in deep truth and well-developed principles.
Tell Fox to shove its debate. That will make more news, and show more honor, than an appearance at the debate.
Peace
disagree.....
Yes, FOX sucks and is unfair, but just imagine Dr. Paul sitting around with these five people. He is undeniably the most principled, and by FAR the most well-read, he would make them look like corrupt idiots (which they are)......They would not be able to stand up to him even with chris wallace on their side......
"Truth is treason in the empire of lies." - Ron Paul
I Agree..
100% F-Fox!
You know Chaplain
I've been wrestling with this also. My initial thought is say no by all means. But what troubles me is the missed opportunity of being 1 man of 6 at a table with no audience, elevated in both stature and speaking time, and a better Ron too, I think his Jay Leno-appearance soft spoken confidence and humore is more pallatible to those who don't know him than yelling from a podium is. Tough call. -JP Hey, make your predictions on the predictions thread if you haven't already!
The first 5 million supporters of Dr. Paul are 'early adopters.' The next 10 million will require a modified approach.
Bump
"When I was originally excluded, I made other plans for that day. Sorry."
-- Ron Paul, to Fox after results of Iowa announced
Just Say "No"
......and have a huge (partially spontaneous) rally, because anything from 1-4 sends an irrefutable message that corporate media is not in the best interests of We The People. How dare our government talk about "fair" elections in other countries when we fund the crooked elections...everywhere.
And write the FCC and vent now and after Iowa and then after every other so-called slight.
fonta
I agree.
