The Underbelly of Rudolph Giuliani

Just a couple of thoughts since the debate...

A while ago I read "The Tyranny of Good Intentions" by Paul Craig Roberts and Lawrence M. Stratton. I pulled the book out again today to review with a second read. Here is an excerpt from the preface.

"America's Reputation as "the land of the free" is rooted in its Anglo-Saxon legal and political tradition. As the twenty-first century begins, there is evidence that much of this tradition has been lost. Americans are losing the law which protects them from tyranny, and they are losing the accountability of law, which ensures that government is the servant rather than the master of the people. These erosions of liberty and constitutional order are not the work of organized interest groups or of the result of the influence of money on the political process. We Americans are losing the protection and the accountability of law because we have forgotten why these safeguards are important. We have become emotionally and intellectually disconnected from the long struggle to establish the people's sovereignty over the law.

Because Americans are losing the protection of law, our liberty is endangered. As a former British colony, Americans inherited the English legal system, in which law developed as a means of pursuing justice by finding truth. The U.S. legal system was based on English precedent. The U.S. Constitution begins with the words "We the People"; this founding document embodies the "Rights of Englishmen," which ensure that law protects people from arbitrary government power and serves the cause of justice."

This is what Ron Paul understands. This is why I believe he has stood consistent for the rule of law, the U.S. Constitution.

Paul Craig Roberts also writes a weekly column. You can get to an archive of his commentary here;

The shameful and disrespectful behavior of Rudy Guiliani and others at the 09-05-07 debate, to giggle and sneer as Ron Paul was taking questions and giving answers shows the underlying disrespect these individuals have for people in general and specifically for the truth and the rule of law.

Rudy et al are only interested in their own aggrandizement and accumulation of celebrity and power. Throughout time they have shown they are willing to suffocate the truth to obtain it.

Allow me to direct your attention specifically to Rudy and give an example of how immoral and unscrupulous this ex-U.S. Attorney is.

Secretary Roberts wrote an article titled, "Giuliani Would Make a Worse President than Bush"

You can read it at the following link.

http://www.vdare.com/roberts/070510_giuliani.htm

In the article, we learn how Rudolph Giuliani came down on the financial firm of Princeton/Newport, with out cause, all involved were exonerated but Giuliani's actions and media trumpeting began to "turn public sentiment against white-collar defendants." And we also learn how Giuliani wrestled Michael Milken (the junk bond king) into a prison cell through wrongful prosecution and ex-post facto law.

This next link expands the Giuliani story.

My intention is to get these few articles from PCR about Giuliani to Ron Paul supporters so they have the background on Rudy.

We all know how treacherous this guy is, and it was evidenced during the debate, now we know why.
Thanks to Paul Craig Roberts.

Who's laughing now Rudy?

A NATION CANNOT SURVIVE TREASON

A NATION CANNOT SURVIVE TREASON: Marcus Tullius Cicero's
A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the galleys, heard in the very hall of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and their garment, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared.......Cicero, 42 B.C.E.

Well what do we have today?
