This is not a young person thing, I'm young and I think its a big pain in the ass (annoying) when I come to the site and see this thing dancing around.

Well, of course, when I first saw this thing, I was suspicious, and did a google before I would even click on it at all. Then I saw Michael's explanation as to what it was, so then it was okay. But it is still intrusive and I wish that there was a better way than having a floating pop-up, so I guess I must go with the consensus here. I have no objection to a chat here, but I don't think that it should distract from the rest of the site.

It is defanatly a young person thing. I don't know how you guys read them all our get a word in. Do you even read anyone elses post or is it just important to get to say stuff. It kind of like talking to yourself. But hey if thats what you kids are into now days. Have at it. Have a good time in there thats what its for i'm sure. I think my old butt will stick with the slower speed out here. the little floating non ad doesn't bother me. the knock knocking drove me crazy till I learned how to turn it off. have fun guys.
Its Annoying
Stablize that sucker! We're not all chatters here and it is more of a "young persons" thing. Stick that orange floatie thing to the page. Who ever wants to chat will find it. But its annoying as a floater.
Or at least give people the option to "hide" it.

It's worse than a pop-up since it just sits on top of your window, blocking real content, even as you scroll.
People hate this sort of ad -- it will just drive potential supporters away.

I take it back -- it's not an ad. (I still don't like the fact that it obscures content, that it doesn't say what it is, and that it looks like a pop-up or spyware thing. From the comments here, I'm not the only one.)
I do think a chat server is a good idea, though!

I think the link should say, "Daily Paul Chat" or something like that, not "NOK", whatever that means.
I'd still like it better as a regular link instead of an annoying thing that obscures content, but that's up to the owner of the website, of course.

i was wondering what that was in the lower right corner. it just shows up as a blind spot on my browser. probably something to do with blocks put in place by our IT dept.
