Rick Warren's "Purpose Driven" PD marketing/church growth bad philosophy has taken over the baptist (and much of mainstream church). ( "Purpose Driven" as in the "Purpose Driven Life" and the "Purpose Driven Church").
PD is highly controversial and objectionable to many christians (book, articles, web sites address PD subject). Just google.
WSJ last year did an article on Warren, and baptist churches, throwing out 'resisters.' 1,000's of christians are fleeing this false new-age PD gospel (or being thrown out for 'resisting').
Rick Warren is member of the CFR and meets with them regularly--as Huckabee admits CFR is his foreign policy advisor. Rick Warren created a serious flap when he visited Syria's government officials last year---claiming there is no religious persecution in Syria (huh?). Rick Warren is Rupert Murdoch's pastor. We know Murdoch owns Fox, and more. Murdoch publishes porn. Warren is a hob-nob globalist whose mission is to 'influence the influencers.'
A vote for Huckabee, elects Rick Warren by proxy. Throw in the CFR, Purpose Driven manipulation marketing, and Huckabee's record--spells disaster for the US.

Thanks for the post MediatorMPA, you are right on. When I first learned about this little match made in hell, I was pissed. How dare a man pose as a Christian and lead people astray. My church does a study every so often, nothing in depth, but sometimes we study a Christian's book on a certain topic or something. A few years back we picked up Warren's PD and did a few week study on it, we never got in depth into it, like I said, we just took it for what it was. I thank Jesus for protecting us from the harmful ideas within PD philosiphy. When I researched recently the connection between Huck and Warren and then learned about what Warren is into, I went to my bookshelf, dug out the PD book, took it to the back yard and Burned it, with prejiduce I might add :-) On another note, I hope Rick Warren knows the penalty for what he's doing. God holds accountable every false teacher to a harsh punishment. Christians need to wake up and see Huck and Warren for what they are, non-Christians who only seek money and power.

I was not aware of Rick Warren's connections to CFR or Rupert Murdoch. Pretty damning in this Christian's book. The CFR is Rockefeller's den of iniquity and world dominion. Why would any Christian be part of such an organization?

Weird, the last church I went too
several years ago, was all GUNG HO about PD. I mean the "temporary" pastor just kept going on and on and on and on about this darn book. I had read it a little bit. It gives people hope, but still leaves that lingering question " what is my purpose"

Then after church, more people were meeting up to go to a huge RW gathering. It was very strange.

What is really funny is that Warren opens the book up by saying "It is NOT all about YOU"....and then proceeds to write all throughout the book how what is most important is that it is all about YOU.
I remember hearing Rick Warren on a NBC interview make this statement.."What most people will hear when they get to heaven is 'Why weren't you more like YOU'...."

That one statement that I heard Rick Warren say SUMMED up everything I needed to know about Rick Warren or his lil' book that he has made millions off of.

I wouldn't underestimate evangelicals, their theology is flawed but they're quite effective. They'll take over the government in much the same way as they usurped the control of the fundamentalists, taking over their churches and schools.

I actually liked Rick's book when it first came out. I did not see the evil in it then but now it is so out of control. I didn't follow it as the Bible like so many people do. It just gave me some help in focusing on God's will for my life, rather than my own. I can't believe some people are so stupid to follow it so religiously.

Others read the bible only "through" it -- like a set of colored glasses.
But this kind of thing has happened many times before, and will happen in a different way another generation from now. (With many of the RW following pastors getting tossed out in their own turn by some new fad... whatever strange music fusion thing follows the "hip-hop" brigade most likely).
History of the church is replete with this stuff (and those who turn from promising straight-forward reformationists as RW seemed to be -- into the self-promoting empire builders as RW has become). The sheep often nudge and tempt the shepherd onto the wrong path as well as the opposite you know. (In part standing in front of huge audiences and receiving great amounts of acclimation and praise carry their own dangers as well. The same is true of writing a popular book -- there is always the temptation and the urging of others to "milk" the market with a follow-on or two.)

However, obviously this Warren guy and his books are popular. Cult? Yes, in my opinion. Just like Left Behind, Heaven's Gate, the Branch Davidians etc. Only this particular cult is in with the government, so there will be no Waco on them.
But, if all of Huckster's supporters follow this guy too, what good is "exposing" this truth?

MANY Christians are clueless...
I have talked with several Christians who were Huckabee supporters by default, because they thought he was the only pro-life candidate. When I told them Ron Paul was pro-life they didn't even know it! I said, "He's a baby doctor, for crying out loud!" People are just terribly UNINFORMED. We just need to get the Christians educated and many more will get on with Ron Paul.
Huckabee is such a tainted man; if we could get the population educated, we would see a surge in support for the good Doctor.

PD is splitting
PD is splitting congregations all over the US. WSJ did a story last year--amazing! Suzanne Sataline was the WSJ writer.
I know friends who've been thrown out of PD baptist churches. My sister left her church of 30 years because it went PD.
So...many people are beginning to run from Warren and PD (or are being thrown out as 'resisters'). And, I've talked to many on-the-fence believers who were thinking of voting for Huckabee...but, when they hear PD...they decide 'no way.' Numbers against PD are growing by leaps --especially as Warren keeps doing more strange things...on and on. However, PD followers will strongly influence Huckabee's support.

The biggest problem I have with that is that the system is INTENTIONALLY dividing the congregations -- and they are essentially pre-brainwashing the pastors into completely IGNORING the concerns of their own members and instead of trying to address those concerns, the system gives the pastors a "playbook" for driving such people OUT of the church, and indoctrinates them that doing so is the best path.

Thats why I love my church.
My Pastor ACTUALLY READS THE BIBLE. And after every sermon gives us sermon notes so we can go back and read all of the references he provided to make sure that they back up his teaching.
We dont HAVE CHURCH MEMBERSHIP.
He grew up in a RELIGIOUS church, and makes sure that doesnt happen in ours. Its great.
I cannot believe that there are PASTORS for goodness sake! Pastors using a book like that as their foundation instead of the BIBLE.

We've had friends thrown out for 'resisting' PD, and my sister's family left their church of 30 years over PD infiltration. Another friend left her job at a youth ministry over objecting to PD.
There was a video out of Warren going to the Jewish synagogues and teaching them PD techniques. I watched it in horror..Warren actually described in it (without any clue of wrongdoing) ---he advised those present in this 'teaching' session to undermine and subvert the elders who led the synogogue. I was stunned...to see it come right from his mouth...and the sigh...leaders...lapped it up like candy.
Now, some might say...'what was he doing promoting PD at a synogogue?'
That is another issue---point being---he was telling leaders to subvert and overthrow resisters of PD takeover.
