*Gasp* Rick Santorum on the rise!?

Just like clockwork, as soon as it's becoming clear Newt is on his way out, leave it to Fox News to start pumping up newly minted Rick Santorum as the new front-runner to be.

Big bold headline on Fox News front page: Santorum Set to Surprise in Iowa?

hxxp://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/12/27/in-what-may-be-final-turn-in-gop-roller-coaster-santorum-begins-his-ascent/

Quote: "He has received key endorsements from well-known social conservatives in the state, and has had solid performances at each of the debates. And he's running an old-school style campaign that Iowa voters expect in the retail-style politics of the Hawkeye State."

I dunno guys, I'm getting nervous. Rick Santorum may very surprise us all and get fourth or fifth place in Iowa and go on to win the nomination in a landslide.

I would not take this lightly.

Keep focused and hope that Iowa has people in place at the polling stations to validate the votes.

This could be their boy, they always keep someone under

cover and then spring them on us. They did this with McCain, no poll numbers, could be Huntsman as well, they just drop their boy on us at the last minute and the people go along with it. Watch out for all of this. They bring in someone who nobody knows about. They have attacked everyone else. Keep your eyes open and keep telling everyone about Ron Paul.

Good

The more spread out that the 65% of the non-Paul vote gets; the better. Santorum is going nowhere, so if he can pick off 15% of the vote, it would be awesome!

No.

...

don't "gasp"

I think Sanitorium finishing SECOND in Iowa (behind a RONSLIDE) would be the IDEAL result. Also, pArry 4th and Grinch FIFTH would set N.H. up nicely....

1) Frothy sinks right back to the bottom on Jan. 10th
2) Grinch is immediately completely irrelevant.
3) Likely sets up a very tight (about 25% apiece??) three-way in N.H. among Dr. Paul, Huntsman, and Obamney... which would be highly embarrassing for Willard.

Maybe I was a little too dry for everyone

But my post was all sarcasm. I was just pointing out the obvious MSM spin on Santorum's DOA campaign.

A Santorum surge can't hurt

A Santorum surge can't hurt us!

As little as I've paid

As little as I've paid attention to Santorum other than the debates, I can say that he is consistent too, regardless of his message (one that I consider extreme). If he truly lacks flip-flopping and is more accurate than Bachmann with his statements, then what's to stop him among the "moral majority in three-cornered hats"?

The GOP needs Santorum

for now, since all their stalking horses are lame

1. Bachmann
2. Perry
3. Cain
4. Gingrich
5. Santorum?

Unless they can buy Huntsman they're running out of human shields for Romney.

RON PAUL 2012

The rise of Santorum is predictabl

The rise of Santorum is predictable given our success in kcrushing Newt World Order, and the fact that Romney leaves a bad taste in the mouth of so many Republicans, especially given his progressive positions.

If the establishment pushes Santorum, this will benefit us! This isn't squat to be nervous about, really. Sontorum is an out and out neocon, and a pro-war neocon can not beat Obama, period. Most average Republicans are starting to get sick of our foreign interventionism. People who were still neoconned 4 years ago are starting to realize that we can no longer afford it, that we are broke.

So, if FOX and the GOP establishment want to push Santorum, fine. We'll kick his f'n @$$ too! Bring it!

I agree

A Santorum surge will favour Paul. It will further weary down the GOP voters.

truth liberate

He will get higher

than what you're thinking. And to be honest, i've been expecting this for the past month.

This has been an election season in which candidates think they can leave Iowa alone. And to their surprise, they will not get as high as their poll numbers suggest. On the other hand, Santorum has been there more than any other candidate and come the caucus night, there will be very unexpected results because of all his groundwork.

The same is for Ron Paul. Romnney and Gingrich's numbers were always overhyped and they will get less than their polling numbers suggest. Ron Paul and Santorum on the other hand have done the hard work and will get much better than expected.

And i honestly would not be fooled by his low poll numbers in the other states or nationally. What we have witnessed throughout this election cycle is that voters are very shallow, will jump onto a new candidate quickly, and will quickly say the are definitely/most probably will vote for them, and then change their pick to the new flavor of the month. So given Gingrich's drop, if he can't survive, you can expect a very sharp and sudden spike in Santorum's numbers.

So the real question is this: will Santorum's unexpected result create momentum for him going into the next states? This is what worries me because he has the MSM on his side and we don't.

If Santorum wins, who will replace him as

Stephen Colbert's stunt double?
