►Perry Campaign Sues to Get on Virginia Ballot

http://www.nationaljournal.com/2012-presidential-campaign/pe...

"Virginia ballot access rules are among the most onerous and are particularly problematic in a multicandidate election,” said Perry campaign Communications Director Ray Sullivan in a statement.

“We believe that the Virginia provisions unconstitutionally restrict the rights of candidates and voters by severely restricting access to the ballot, and we hope to have those provisions overturned or modified to provide greater ballot access to Virginia voters and the candidates seeking to earn their support."

The Virginia Board of Elections has said that, barring a court order, the ballot is set.

The legal challenge is seeking to both
get Perry’s name on the ballot and
to rule the state’s ballot access requirements unconstitutional.

Perry’s campaign noted that only 119,034 Virginians voted in the 2008 Republican primary, making the 10,000 signature requirement “unrealistic and onerous.”

zactly right.

Go ahead.... make our day! heh heh

There are rules Rick.

You knew what they were (or someone in your campaign should have). You failed to comply. You don't get special treatment. Stop crying, stop trying to pervert the system and go home gracefully.

Pretty simple.

In Texas rules are for

In Texas rules are for suckers and poor people.

Lol!

Yeah, I know where your coming from, but he should be out and that's that.

It just chaps my hide to see these lying, cheating, stealing, murdering parasites in action.

Oh well, I believe God'll sort'em all out in the end.....

Oh, come on.

Kucinich could get on the ballot in '08 without going to court, and we're supposed to believe YOU'RE a serious candidate and the rules are just too unfair? Violation of freedom of speech, seriously?

That's what he would like

people to believe, but as far as I can tell he merely failed to exercise it to the extent necessary to get on the ballot there.

Doesn't sound like a violation by anyone to me....

So if he wins, does this set

So if he wins, does this set up a precedent for third parties?

Good Question
