Ron Paul Super Brochure Showcased on MSNBC's The Ed Show; Praised by Politico

Roger Simon - Chief Political Columnist of Politico - says of the Super Brochure: "They all have literature, but this is a good piece of literature. Oddly enough Iowans actually read this stuff."

Ed says: "Here it is! This is the ground game that we have been talking about with Ron, and it's true that everybody out there that's running for President in Iowa does have material. But not like this. Not this kind of ground game. I mean, to go out to basketball games and public events and put this kind of material out there for people to read, I think is pretty amazing. It's pretty organized...People read this stuff."

It's working people! Conservatives, independents and even lefties are being moved and inspired by the Super Brochure. This is part of the one-of-a-kind, never-before-seen grassroots organization that impresses even Roger Simon of Politico.

Have you heard this kind of praise for any other effort? The Super Brochure is working! Please help us blanket South Carolina with Super Brochures then we can move on to Nevada and Florida. These work!

Imagine

just getting one of those in the mail and then seeing someone on a news show hold it up and give it praise.

Wow...

Yesterday I said this piece was jaw dropping, because Ed was actually objective and showed journalistic integrity for a change. Today, same old scumbag. Not surprised.

I'm buying more super brochures tonight!

We'll never know for sure...

but I'm so curious to know, what element of the campaign is making the biggest impact:

1. PFH?
OR
2. Super Brochures?

Clarify Source of RP Super Brochure to Ed

Can anyone from the "Ron Paul Super Brochure" production contact Ed to tell him the brochure is unaffiliated with Ron Paul's campaign?

That would help because:
1/3) Ed would correct his vague attribution to the brochure
2/3) More airtime for the brochure
3/3) Shows RP supporters are top notch and we don't wait for the campaign, displaying we are self motivated.

We're creative, one of the qualities of a free person.

Really? I don't know. Why do you think he knows the brochure is grassroots made?

It says so on the brochure

and judging from the comments on this post he has probably received a lot of emails from us about it so far. He also used the words "Ron Paul people" instead of the "campaign" when describing the effort. But yes, I don't absolutely know for sure that any of the emails got through to him.

"Ron Paul people." Yep.

"Ron Paul people." Yep. Vague.

If he knows the brochure is grassroots, I hope he clears up his vague comment. I doubt he will, though.

Pro RP to deflect MSNBC/Bain Capital Relationship

Turns out that MSNBC has a just now disclosed connection with Mitt's former company Bain Capital through co-ownership of the Weather Channel.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/ben-smith/2011/12/msnbc-now-di...

Starting on last night’s Ed Show with Ed Schultz, MSNBC anchors are now disclosing their parent company’s ties to Bain Capital, the buyout firm co-founded by Mitt Romney.

In July 2008, NBC Universal, Bain Capital and Blackstone Group bought the Weather Channel for an estimated $3.5 billion – a business relationship that MSNBC anchors have not disclosed until now, according to a search of the Nexis and TVEyes databases going back to 2008.

Thanks for the Super Brochure commercial Ed!

A few people have questioned the validity of the Super Brochure project. They're nuts IMO. It costs $0.44 to send a first class letter. 2 pieces of paper and an envelope cost another $0.04. So before you even write anything it costs $0.48 per letter. Super Brochures costs $0.55 each. The extra $0.07 above what you could do yourself gets you an oversized full color 4-fold brochure filled with information and targeted specifically to the voters who matter the most. The campaign has done a great job with the fund raising, the videos and TV campaigns, and the phone banking. The Super Brochure reinforces all those efforts. Go Super Brochure!

um im not sure paul's actual policy is ending irs

and closing down the fed immediately.. a lot of the stuff mentioned in the video has nothing to do with paul's current platform, at least not without a transitional period.. if the brochure doesn't mention that, then it's misleading.. curious who wrote up the brochure.. could at least do some checking and invest some time into research before spending thousands of donation printing them up

I'm not sure either.

I agree. Shall we dissect what is in this brochure? It seems to me there are enough posters here who are raising questions about this that we need to settle this question once and for all.

If there is material in the brochure that does not represent Paul's campaign policies, isn't that exactly like having newsletters out in his name in the 80's? Why aren't we addressing this.

well turns out the brochure does have some wording

such as "phasing out" the irs instead of "closing it down" recited by ed here from msnbc as if the actual wording.. seems like the msm is misrepresenting, as usual, routine business for them it is. brochure might sound a little radical when recited out on tv because populist ideas usually make beltway pundits hold their noses, but i read the enlarged screenshot and the points are otherwise very populist such as talking about the fed and inflation and food prices rising etc.

seems like the brochure maker knows who he's marketing to, the mass, not media beltway talking points. credit where credit is due. not an expert on this so i'm not going to predict success, but the brochure from the screenshot i saw looks better than i had imagined. actually, here is the actual brochure itself, why not just post it http://www.ronpaulbrochure.com/images/brochure1_lg.jpg

Revision! Yeah!

OK! Your post has some revisions from the one I have been using and distributing. I guess there were some changes. I am exceedingly happy with the revisions. Thank you for the post.

Some changes: My copies say "End the Income Tax, End foreign wars, End the Fed" -- I'm happy to see the revisions.

Super point.

I fear it is not such a good idea either but notwithstanding the tremendous effort.

Hey!

Maybe this is perfect. It demonstrates the passion RP brings out in his supporters and the ease of which such a simple mistake can be made??

Repubs dont want to win the white house

I think its clear that the establishment machine wants Obama in the white house and own the Senate and house. That way all is well for corruption and big government hacks for another 4 years while blaming Obama all the way. The other possibility is Palin coming in for super Tuesday for a sure fire loss if Paul is still winning.

“In the beginning of change, the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for it costs nothing to be a patriot.”

Mark Twain

Ed doesn't realize

that brochure was not put out by the official campaign. Great work, grassroots!

Good Bye Farmers???

Farmers work their asses off...Federal subsidies / Regulations have taxed Farmers work for decades.

Farmers would be more prosperous and produce higher quality foods if the federal policies did not Force them to feed The World...and dictate their earnings by cubic foot of produce.

And because our monarchy dictates farmers earnings/ and farm for the world.

Farmers have to squeeze seedlings together so tight per square inch that the nutrients diminish with in the food itself. Literally starving the food itself.

Like having a whole family of 20 eating together at an office desk, and the meal served is 1 can of spam.

LIBERTY OR DEATH!!!

Also

Some of those farmers are paid to not grow crops. They could grow way more and export them to other countries and even help poor people in other countries if they wanted to.

"Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past you must fight just to keep them alive"

OR

Or other countries would be able to build an economy off of agriculture because it would no longer cheaper to import US grown foods than to grow their own!

Farm subsidies hurt everyone!

The thing about grassroots...

...is that Dr. Paul cannot police every word or message that springs from there, nor should he since that would certainly curtail the communication of the liberty message.

Unfortunately, that means we have baggage like those old newsletters that have been spotlighted by the media.

It's a conundrum, alright. I am so very proud to be part of this movement to spread the message of liberty, but I feel keenly the responsibility that we all have to communicate that message very carefully. There's a certain amount of faith that we have to have in one another, and that's a little scary. But I don't see any other way that this message can succeed. Corporations aren't exactly throwing money towards the communication of what it means to have liberty; it's up to us.

Pretty Awesome

That was a great feature. Everyone involved with the project should be proud!

I just wish that Ed had taken a little more time to research the Super Brochure project. It's not "Ron Paul's People" who designed it, created it, printed it and mailed it.

It was a grassroots effort that was completely independent of the campaign. That is the real story! Other candidates might have literature put out by the campaign or by their Super PAC, but no other candidate has completely independent, grassroots projects that are reaching hundreds of thousands of people.

Vist my blog! Sh*t Ron Paul Says!

Clarification please

Was there any truth to the rumor that had been posted that this super brochure was hurting the campaign's efforts in SC?

A search query to that effect yields nothing so I am guessing there was no validity to the statement.

RP Super Brochure's picture

There was no truth to that statement

The Super Brochure became a big and very effective hit and was working too well to the point that a certain group needed to be warned they they are not allowed to use it.

Our grassroots effective way of getting the message out must stay independent.

I hope the way I wrote this makes sense.
