Her Tweet/Facebook post "I love Ron Paul..." is huge, gutsy and came at the perfect time.
Dr. Paul is on the verge of major breakout in support and things like this are just the catalyst the movement needs. She has a huge fan base, and those that agree with many of Dr. Paul's positions but believed his followers were crazy nutjobs, are more apt to feel comfortable supporting him when their respected heroes such as Kelly point out the Emperor is in fact not wearing any clothes.
It takes a lot of guts for any musician to come out in support of a candidate for the simple fact they may offend some fans that might not agree with one's views and possibly lose out in record sales.
Let's show Kelly the opposite is also possible, especially when it comes to the Liberty Movement.

Maybe the small surge in sales will be noticed by other musicians who are skeptical or afraid to come out in support - for as we all know truth is treason in an empire of lies.

The above statement is all that is needed from her. How did she back track exactly? What more do you want? Any aggressive stance or defensive posture from a celebrity in the spot light would do more harm as it would reinforce the ridiculous notion from MSM that RP supporters or kookoo. That's what they want. It was clearly worth it as look at all publicity it got. Google Clarkson and Ron Paul and the good things out weigh the bad 8 to 1 easily. So it does in fact help Ron Paul. Enough so where the Ron Paul campaign tweeted a thank you for her words. I don't like her music either but my sisters do so I bought them her album as an extended xmas gift. I am sure many people have similar situations and alternate reasons as well. And don't worry, the same people that helped push kelly up, are the same people probably contributing to the campaign every pay check. I know I do.

You likely know her better than I.
From my perspective Clarkson never got accused of being racist and a homophobe until she tweeted about Ron Paul. That is not her fault, but the ignorance or her fans.
I think the important thing is that you and I, and even Clarkson for that matter agree on more than we disagree and I'll continue to focus on that.

It's unacceptable that she was attacked so ferociously. If twitter haters that pounded on her are really against bigotry of any kind, they might look in their own hearts to see what makes them SO quick to judge Ron Paul supporters.
I bought two copies
I bought her album on itunes and a cd on amazon. The cd is being given to my mom. How many of her long time fans have more than just music to be her fan? We are now her fans on principle, and that makes us stronger than any other fairweather fan. The bottom line is, what other candidate's supporters would do something like this? We are awesome. Literally, take a moment to think about how much stronger we are as a core of supporters than anyone else. We never let an opportunity slip by. All I can say is, wow. We are so far ahead of the curve and the establishment, which is why they are running scared. We are awesome.

Of course they brought up with emphasis the end of her comment - that she doesn't think he can win, and that when she received slack for supporting him, she back peddled (according to FOX) and said that she just liked his small government ideas. But they definitely are noticing - they flashed her and Ron Paul's faces on the screen with figures on how her ratings had changed. From 41st to 13th at Amazon and 14th at iTunes. So purchasing has made a difference.
For any Ron Paul supporter that actually knows Kelly how about giving her some info about him so she knows how to respond to negative coming at her... And some help for her to realize that Dr. Paul can, should and will be our next president, especially if folks will stop doubting the possibility!
And for the rest of us....let's keep moving her to the top in thanks for her endorsement.

Haha I like the idea, but let's keep ours eyes on the prize and look out for #1 first. I thought the same thing about Michelle Brach, and those of us that are well-off and can afford it I would say absolutely! But for me, I have to keep most of my extra cash going to RP directly, we still have 49 state's after Iowa. Love the idea tho

Agreed Michelle's support was weak
I was thinking the same thing. Michelle didn't really take any risk or show any conviction. Kelly really impressed me by not only standing up to the barrage but hitting back with her statement about how all the hate was unneccessary and we should respect other's opinions...she showed a lot of class. I bought Kelly's album on iTunes and amazon but personally I'd rather give my money to the campaign than to Michelle.
