Gallop Poll just phoned me - NO Ron Paul
Submitted by WhoatemyLiberty on Wed, 01/02/2008 - 22:02
So somebody from Omaha Nebraska working for Gallop poll phoned me and didn't offer Ron Paul as a choice for the Republican nomination. Just thought you might get a kick from that.

Push poll in Michigan same thing.....No Ron Paul choice
everyone else there
Here is their response
"As you can see below, all of the candidates for president, both Republican and Democratic are asked in every poll Gallup has conducted this year. All of the names are read in random rotation with each of the other candidates running for the nomination.
The complete results are sent to the press and they decide how many and which ones of the candidates they wish to talk about."

Ron Paul not included in phone polls
At least 3 from our meet up (Jacksonville Fl.) have reported receiving these calls, with Ron Paul excluded. Seems like someone could catch it on record--it happens so frequently!
Ron Paul or no one at all!
I also have an unlisted number
I have a landline however my number is unlisted. I don't get calls from pollsters, advertisers, or anyone except friends and family.
So there's probably another segment the pollsters don't include in their so called polls.
Reply from Gallup!
I emailed Gallup and requested a clarification from the executive staff. They told me that this claim did not happen and the information about a RP exclusion was incorrect.
Judith Keneman responded with a well written letter. I suggest we take her information to heart and go knock on some doors of registered Republican voters. Judith was very kind to send such an informative email. We should thank her for the inclusion of Congressman Ron Paul and continue to farm a good relationship with the Gallup staff.

Dear _ _ _ _ ,
Your information is totally incorrect.
As you can see below, Ron Paul has been included on the list of Republican candidates for president in every poll Gallup has conducted this year. Ron Paul's name is read in random rotation with each of the other candidates running for the Republican nomination. In the most recent Gallup poll, conducted Dec. 14-16, 2007, Ron Paul is supported by 3% of Republicans interviewed. He is very popular in some states, but our polls cover the entire nation and unfortunately when asked, about 70% of Americans across the country do not know very much about him or have never heard of him.
He will have more support and more press if he wins or at least does very well in a primary.
(Asked of Republicans and independents who lean to the Republican Party) Next, I'm going to read a list of people who may be running in the Republican primary for president in the next election. After I read all the names, please tell me which of those candidates you would be most likely to support for the Republican nomination for president in 2008, or if you would support someone else.
[ROTATED: Former New York City Mayor, Rudy Giuliani; Former Arkansas Governor, Mike Huckabee; California Congressman, Duncan Hunter; Arizona Senator, John McCain; Former Massachusetts Governor, Mitt Romney; Colorado Congressman, Tom Tancredo; Former Tennessee Senator, Fred Thompson; Texas Congressman, Ron Paul; former ambassador, Alan Keyes]

Recordings
If only we could get more recordings of these...
Amen !
Some proof of this travesty would be great. For a pollster like Gallop to not mention Ron Paul as a choice after all of this would shock a lot of people I think, but without a recording no one would believe you.
I have a question though, if Ron Paul isn't offered as a choice, how is he getting 6-10 percent ??? [scratches head]
Who Records Calls?
How many people you know record phone calls?
The only way I can imagine someone catching a poll excluding Ron Paul is either recording every call that comes in, or an answering machine coming on the same time you are on the phone.
for future reference
If this happens in the future - you should ask for a supervisor and demand an explanation; call Gallup immediately; we cannot let this slide
You are about the 10th
You are about the 10th person that I have heard of personally that had a poll call with no RP option. I've had NO ONE tell me they were polled with a RP option.
So, there are 10 voters for RP that the polls aren't counting.
Maybe this will add up to a big surprise tomorrow!
"He was so low in the polls... where did all the Ron Paul voters come from?"
one reason why he polls
one reason why he polls low...hmmmmm...
And how interesting it is that you are the only one here
posting that was called by a polling company! With the amount of people who come in here, we would expect that more people would have been called. Amazing! Sickening! And they don't even ask about Ron Paul! That should be criminal!
Please give us more details. This is very interesting. Did they call you on a land line (probably!). What did they ask?
Thx,
JB.

Not really... my phone numbers are all unlisted and unpublished
I do not get polling calls -- neither does ANYONE from my family (as their phones are likewise unlisted and unpublished).
Also know that many of my friends and their families are likewise.
Around here, only bobos and boobs still have published land-line phone numbers. (And most of them do NOT actually go out and vote in primary elections).
Its random
At least that's what the pollster told me. He asked for my zip code at the end of the survey
It was landline
They first asked for the youngest person living in the household over the age of 18. Then they asked for my party affiliation. I said Republican. Then they offered me my choices - Romney, McCain, Rudy,Huckabee and Fred. I said Ron Paul. The pollster then asked a series of health quality and economy questions. He was just doing his job.
Damn I am going to go down there
Do you think I should go down there (I live in Omaha, and only about 2 miles from Gallup University) and voice my discontent?
That would make you...
My Hero :)
Same here
No Ron Paul

You give no details
Why tease us? Why not answer my questions below? I am beginning to doubt you .... (rrrrrr)
What was the interviewers name?
I'm related to their top interviewer there. If it was him, I'll get to the bottom of it. :)
No name
was given she just said i am with the Gallup poll and named all the candidates except Ron Paul
"Freedom is a right that can never be won in war, only by each individual "
I'll talk to him.
The last time I was arguing with him about the crappy polling, he said "We just read all the names and take in the results."
It'll be interesting to hear what his explanation is. I'll report back later.
that being the case
where do they come up with arbitrary percentage numbers in the single digits?
Maybe
if someone says "Ron Paul"even though he isn't listed as an option, they record it, and get their arbitrary polling numbers.
I feel sick
this just makes me feel sick. We need to raise even more money and have Ron Paul commercials all over the place to make up for the lack of news coverage he gets. Do you think we could blast with the next money bomb?
Here is where to complain I think
