I'm a wreck! I'm not going to be able to function until Tuesday...

I can't stop thinking about the Iowa caucuses and what might happen. Is anybody else as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs as I am?

Monday isn't Monday

Monday is "the day before Iowa."

To pass time I am taking part in a sign wave from a pedestrian overpass over I-95 in Jacksonville FL.

Normally, the first day back to work (Tuesday to some, "Iowa" to the rest of us) is a day to shake the holiday lull, put nose to the grindstone and really get to work. But no, I will keep "sneaking" over to DP, FB pages, Drudge, etc. to see what's going on no matter how hard I will claim to resist.

My neighbors all love Ron Paul (Ohio)

If everything continues, Ron Paul will win Ohio on March 6. He is really popular here.

Last New Years Eve I drunkenly talked about Ron Paul to my neighbors. They had no idea what I was talking about. I just found out from my family that tonight they are all CHEERING him. I haven't even been at the party yet.

There are stories like that all over the place here.

Come on Iowa! Ohio will be ready.

Since I can't be in Iowa

I will be fasting for Ron Paul.
Come join me and others: http://www.dailypaul.com/198122/january-2nd-national-day-of-...

I sense fraud on the horizon.

I sense fraud on the horizon. I should feel like a long tail cat on acid in a room full of rocking chairs being rocked by holograms of Timothy Leary but I see the fix is on again. The same fix took place in the straw poll. There was no way they were going to let Paul win that one. 2nd place is 007's rival, that just won't do. There is even a conspiracy to push Paul down to 3rd place. With Huntsman not even campaigning in Iowa he is giving his vote away. With Bachmann and King(who might not even be alive after seeing his reaction to Corbet's jokes)not getting any crowds she might get drunk tonight and bow out and throw her support to Romney or something. Paul has to win. There is no second place in this contest. 2nd place means the end. This should not be compared with any other year.

Ron Paul will kick ars in Iowa

That will be the booster. Relax!

I'm going to stay drunk 'till

I'm going to stay drunk 'till Tuesday.
Not really, will be handing out Super Brochures tomorrow.

I thought about

staying drunk til Tuesday, but man o man, at my age, it would take until the following Tuesday to recover from the hangover... Nah, I'll just phone from home, eat a lot of fun stuff tonite and tomorrow, phone from home again next week.

You Like Ron Paul, Except on Foreign Policy

The Mayan prediction may as well be true for 2012....

A Ron Paul Presidency...

Age of Enlightenment

Yes!

I agree!

why worry?

If you have done the work, there is nothing to worry about.

If you live in Iowa, you have recruited friends and neighbors to go to your caucus to vote you to the next level.

If you live outside Iowa, you have made phone calls through the phone from home program.

Can't sleep at night.
I wish this was already over.
Wish it was January 4th.

Not so much a wreck, but obsessed with coverage.

In 2008 I was more of a nervous wreck. When Paul started losing and bowed out, I then quickly turned despondent and shrugged it off the best I could. This time around I'm still as excited but not letting it affect me as much in terms of my mood. I am, however, obsessed with daily (sometimes hourly) checking DailyPaul, RunRonPaul, RonPaul.com and RonPaulFlix (if you know more links, please let me know!).

The sad part is I think I've alienated myself from a lot of my friends on facebook for sharing and liking so many Ron Paul videos. In the past couple of months I've noticed most of my fb posts (even ones not Paul related) going by without so much as a single like or comment. This is rare for me. But then again I live in a staunchly blue state and city (Los Angeles).

Politics divide us. Which is sad, because I've never held someone else's political, religious or personal beliefs against them. But I know more than probably most of you how it feels to not side with a town's political beliefs. In this town, it's largely a career killer if you're a filmmaker like me. Anyhow, sorry for the tangent. ;)

Hardly anyone "likes" my facebook posts &

they're 99% Ron Paul. I go & "like" all the RP posts that are sent to me. I look at my friends' posts & really feel kind of dismissive of them. "So, what's important to you right now is what you got for Christmas, what you're naming your puppy & where you took a hike. What airheads you are!"

I am an absolute news addict. Part of me says, "Don't watch this, they'll just make you mad!" and another part says, "Watch, something good about Ron might come up!" What I have realized is that this new bunch of young talking heads are positively nauseating! How did these people get these jobs? They cannot think for themselves & are reading from preassigned scripts. I'm positive.

"What airheads you are!"

This - plus the fact that the social networks are a profiling application for the intelligence agencies - are what make me not use Facebook or any of them.

On top of it - the obsessing over 'status' - who responds to what - and he said / she said details - is pathetic.

Complete waste of time.

Maybe 'till Thursday!

We may have to wait another two days as the sweep the ballots off to a "secret" place to count!! Scary and nerve racking.

Nervous

I'm more nervous than a dog $hittin' razor blades.

That's not nervous

That's painful !

buddy

giving birth, getting married, graduating college and

voting for Ron Paul - all things from which Ive derived every bit as much satisfaction as Id anticipated I would. I envy the Iowan supporters. Anyone whose ever cast a vote for Ron Paul knows what Im talking about. If you've never had the pleasure, I highly recommend it. You leave feeling like you've done something that really matters.

I know the feeling

I just said to my wife last night that I could not wait till Tuesday was over because it was driving me crazy. She told me "everything would be fine". She reminded me of our New Years Eve plans with her parents from Iowa and I said when are they leaving? she said why? I told her they could stay till Monday but they had to be home by Tuesday to vote :-) My Father In-law was not a Paul supporter until a few monts ago. He was in town and we were at breakfast and I started talking about Dr Paul and he said "his ideas are kind of out there, don't you think" and I said "that is exactly what we need to turn our country around". Then he said do you really think he could get elected" and I said "If we can all get enough people to wake up in time, it can happen". He paused for a moment and then said "if we can get enough people to wake up in time, that's interesting". I sent him a bunch of video links and he has been a big Ron Paul supporter ever since.

Try living in Iowa

and having to speak at your caucus and try to become a delegate and secretary and Central Committee member, when you're terrified of public speaking! And knowing that the whole country, no, even the world, is counting on you. Aagh!

3 great words!

"become a delegate"

You are LUCKY to be the one to speak!

Has the campaign helped you with your script? If not, we need to get some scripts written on this site. As far as being a precinct delegate, that's usually a piece of cake. Then, at your county convention, you run on your record of service to your county. You have been active in your county party, right?

When I'm making my RP phone calls in my district, I tell RP voters that I am running for precinct delegate & that I would appreciate their vote. They KNOW me now. I will call all the precinct delegates before the county convention & work them for their vote as well.

You can't leave ANYTHING to chance!

Go Michelle Go

Thank you for stepping up and out of your comfort zone. I know it easy.

lol

Thanks, Storm. But you haven't ever seen me try to give a speech in front of hundreds of people. :P

That made me laugh though. :)

First thing--tell 'em you are

First thing--tell 'em you are terrified of public speaking. Ask them if anyone else is? (usually a question of some kind in the beginning gets them to pay attention, relate and engage). Then tell them how it feels to be forced out of your "comfort-zone" to support this great man. :) You are right, we are counting on you. Just be yourself and tell it like it is.

Well,

I might not have to give a stump speech for Paul after all; I think I found other people to do that. I may still have to make a speech to become a delegate though, so I'm still nervous. But thank God He helped me find two other people to help out with this! I do think you're right though, that just telling them initially that I'm terrified of public speaking could help because it shows you're human and they might have some sympathy for you. Or empathy? Anyway. :) Hopefully it won't come to that though; hopefully my people will show. I'll try to prepare/practice just in case...
