I disagree, I thought he did great! He can handle the nastiest

attacks, one right after the other, and try as they might they can't "get him". I think people admire that.

Debbie

but the good thing is that

but the good thing is that it's still early on & the campaign can find ways to present the truth.

I noticed that although they still bring up the newsletters nonsense, no one seems to be accusing him of being racist anymore - it's more like they question why it got through, maybe his lack of oversight etc.

I think the ad The Compassion of Dr. Paul really helped ... kinda hard to call him racist anymore after that. :)

So now we need to get new ads addressing all of these issues the msm has brought up, even if indirectly.

They are running out of ideas of how to smear him, and I don't see it lasting much longer -- especially with ads/material that clarifies the TRUTH about his positions.

I think this was the perfect

I think this was the perfect time to have these interviews. You wanna know why? It's best to find out now if his campaign can survive hit pieces like these, because let's face it, these kind of attacks will be continuous from Iowa to the hopeful nomination. Better find out now than never if he and his support can survive the political jungle.

Do you prefer the negative

Do you prefer the negative hit pieces without him responding?

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

Brian, he would have done fine declining.

Their attacks were failing as it was, now they have a few new uncomfortable so/so answers to build on.

There was old, and new (out of context) hype brought to the forefront in these that would not have been an issue unless they got a 'not well understood' answer.

Ron cannot be "on his own"

Ron cannot be "on his own" making these decisions. He simply can't be. Who in the world is working with him to manage these things?

I prefer him responding and

I prefer him responding and making them look like idiots than giving them a free fall to trash him without ANYONE responding..

Imagine I went around and trashed you where you lived. Believe me, without you responding eventually people will accept it, at least a lot would. That is human nature among sheep They follow. Listen to all the talking points the media have been repeating, that are now followed by a lot of the sheep.

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

Yep!

I said it earlier in the week that they were setting us up for a mafia hit this weekend. Why do it?! Though most say he did well I agree with you bigmike, WHY subject the movement to national hitmen when the focus is on state elections at the moment??

If this is all they have...

If this is all they have on Dr. Paul, then I am honestly pretty psyched. Think about the questions he was asked today and the way they're being presented.

They are asking him less often about him being a "racist" because he's given an acceptable answer. I know a lot of people on the DP are upset of the way he's answered, but he is telling the truth and as Ron always points out - look at my record. His record is not one of a racist politician.

So, now they go after him on his book "Freedom under Siege," which I have read and thought it was great. The comments that they cherry pick from the book are less incendiary than those from the newsletter. So, in a way this is a win for him too.

Finally, I believe Candy Crowley asked him about his "rumored third party run." He is still facing these questions, but he's swatting them down like flies. The majority of people who watch this stuff know the MSM is who these rumors are coming from.

Ron handles himself well. He's a gentleman, sometimes to a fault. I know some of us wish he were more eloquent, but we are not in this fight to defend Ron Paul and his record only. This is about liberty. There will always be people who don't understand that, but they have pretty much emptied both barrels at Ron Paul and he's still polling in first or second in Iowa and the best is yet to come. The best thing we can do is educate and not sink to the level that the liberty movement's detractors want us to. Stay polite but be firm, just like Dr. Paul, because liberty is worth defending.

That's all they have

and what is tragic is they already know Ron is a person of character and have had answers for all these questions for years. Instead of discussing truly relevant topics and the challenges facing our world, they choose to keep regurgitating this crap.

If Dr. Paul does not win Iowa in a landslide, that is the final proof that the caucus election results will have been tampered with and we are finally in a completely controlled society and any semblance of freedom gone. Short of a Patrick Henry style Revolution our chance at a free society are gone.

He did fine, but why is he granting these interviews?

He it's like throwing a pass when you don't need to risk it. Sit quiet and win on Tuesday.

Congratulations everyone who has been working so hard. No matter what happens everyone should be proud and get ready because this is only the beginning!

Clearly desperate and fearful.

Wow the establishment is shaking in their shoes. These attacks are pathetic. Ron Paul handles himself so well and so did Rand during his interview. Sure hope dad chooses his son for VP. Being President will be a piece of cake after this campaign.

Ron did great on all three interviews

I know it's all about expectations and we all want him to be perfect. I hosted a new year's day party today and didn't have time to watch the interviews earlier but just perused some of the comments. From those I was expecting the worst but now that I've watched them I think he did fantastic. Watch them again if you don't think so. It's just like many of the debates where I think he sub-performed but then I watch a compilation of his answers the next morning and realize he came off great. Let's relax a little and remember that we are lucky to be alive right now and have Ron Paul saying exactly what needs to be said. I'm sure Thomas Jefferson wasn't perfect either but he is still remembered and revered for his philosophy and courage.

I'm confident that the history books will remember Ron's philosophy and courage as well. A founding father walking among us!

One way or another I also think 2012 will be an historical year.

Happy New Year fellow DP friends. The world is about to change.

Clearly these interviews were hit pieces from the start

1. keep the newsletters on people's minds,
2. ABC adding lines to RPs face to make him look older

Would have been better to stay away from these reporters at this stage. We got this far without their help we will go farther by staying away from them.

The two comments below on the importance of Prayer...

brought to mind another time of darkness when St. Teresa of Avila pleaded for Prayer for those "preachers" who were in a position to speak for Truth: "This is not the time for seeing imperfections in those who must teach...Is it not the world they have to deal with? Have no fear that the world will forgive this deficiency; nor is there any imperfection it fails to recognize. It will overlook many good things and perhaps not even consider them good; but have no fear that it will overlook any evil or imperfect things. Now I wonder who it is that teaches people in the world about perfection, not so much that these people might seek perfection..., but that they might condemn others... So, then, do not think that little help from God is necessary for this great battle...a very great deal is necessary..."
pg. 53,"Edith Stein Essential Writings" Maryknoll, NY, Orbis Books, 2002.

There is no need...

... to even grace the shows of these a$$ clowns. There are about a dozen (non-issue, smear, slander) questions asked of Ron Paul. He answers them every time perfectly, exactly the same way, but they keep on repeating the same non-questions while avoiding the issues.

Ron Paul should make a list of said questions, with his written answers. He then hands the list to any interviewer stating that any question on the list will not be answered on the show and that they can read his answers to listeners after the interview.

“Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The obedient must be slaves.”― Henry David Thoreau

This Ron Paul character the

This Ron Paul character the media portrays is someone I don't know, nor think exists. I would like to meet him, but we haven't reached that point were imaginative persons turn real. I'll stick to flesh and bone Ron, and leave the fictional Ron to the fanciful minds of persons who can't tell the difference between truth and folly.

malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium

I am an aristocrat. I love liberty; I hate equality. - John Randolph of Roanoke

It is very clear that the media can "tell the difference between

truth and folly", and that is why the media focuses so intently on the trivial to avoid the significant. This is an age old tactic of those who serve darkness. As Jesus said to the Pharisees, "You strain at a gnat and swallow a camel."

That was a triple attack mine field!!!

Holy smack! Good thing Ron Paul was in the Air Force. He flew right over that entire mine field, heh, heh.

I pray for victory on Tues.

Journalists (?) Haven't Done Their Homework

These people, all three interviewers, have not done any real homework or digging on Dr. Paul because they would be otherwise embarrassed to ask those superficial hackneyed questions. If they were real reporters they would have discovered the facts and simply invited Dr. Paul to address any lingering doubts about his newsletters. Then they would go on to explore his position about fiscal priorities, foreign policy, health and social security, privacy and personal rights, and any number of other topics. Dr. Paul is one of the most knowledgeable, and thus *interesting* persons to interview! But these people have no new questions, no personal insights, no curiosity or interest in exploring the many issues that Dr. Paul wants to improve for Americans! He needs to answer succinctly and then pick up the ball and run to a touchdown every time from now on -- in other words, have a "ready message" tucked under his arm that he can quickly carry to goal after each of those mundane questions. And have a happy demeanor and smile KNOWING that he is freeing Americans from their slumber!!

They are not journalists, and

They are not journalists, and they are not embarrassed

Here's a secret: They are actors. Paid actors.

It's Hollywood ladies and gentlemen. This isn't real news.

Elaborate Magic Show With Elements of Truth

Right ... It's hard for people to comprehend that most broadcasts (recorded) are an EDITED form of reality. The term, programming, is an accurate description of most TV broadcasts since most broadcasts aren't live. Even live broadcasts can be manipulated to alter perceptions. Many people can't seem to differentiate between experiences witnessed directly in person and those experiences witnessed indirectly via some broadcast. Apparently for many people, seeing is believing without understanding the mechanisms behind the experience, sight in this case. In fact, this latter point should be generalized to all of humanity's senses. Since birth, humans are simply conditioned to trust their senses. After all, senses preserve physical life.

Paul in the AM

Paul absolutely dominates in the morning. The debates all take place late in the evening. I think if we can promote a daytime debate, we'd see Paul absolutely destroy everyone else. He's clearly a morning guy.

Well, but, Ron did fantastically on Leno's late-night show!

Evening interviews with the good Judge A Nap are ALWAYs pleasantly informative & educational with lively Ron.

It takes hosts & interviewers, who are REALLY interested in what Ron has to say, for Ron to be instantly glowing with wisdom, inspiration & humor . . .regardless of the time of day.

Media Pundit to Mitt Romney:

Media Pundit to Mitt Romney:

"Governor, do you still view failed community projects as 'tar babies'? Will you completely disavow your comment today that the highway commuter tunnel that collapsed in 2008 was a 'tar baby'?

And even if you do, we'll ask you again 50 times, and also insulate that you really did mean to call it a tar baby behind your back.

Don't worry though, we'll ask you to correct us 30 days from now after everyone in America has heard this about 100 times. Don't worry, such analysis by we, the media, won't have any impact on your chances to win Iowa and the presidency."

If Ron Paul walked on water ...

I like this comment that Lew Rockwell posted in his Political Theatre Blog

If Ron Paul walked on water

The headline would read

Ron Paul Can't swim

(Thanks to Tom Bedwell)

This comment fits right in with the MSM harping on the newsletters.
