Why yes, there is...

there's a particular young man with a TV gig in Cincinnati....

The Management Answer Was Perfect

When the interviewer asked Ron if his actions could indicate a management problem, I was screaming, SAY YES, YES, YES, YES. And. Guess what? He heard me!!!!

Here is why it was a good answer and how it will help him:

(1) It was true. He should have NEVER let anything be published with his signature without having a few trusted people double and triple check it. If he sticks with the truth on EVERYTHING, there is a ton more good than bad. Saying something negative about yourself adds to your credibility (as long as it is not a pattern).

(2). It gives a viable reason for the newsletters that he has already disavowed. Trying to justify them would have been wrong and the sharks are looking for meat. Give it to them - "I am Human". Now what can they say "You are not perfect - not qualified to be President"?.

(3). The credibility becomes valuable when an interviewer brings up smear questions, like the Dondero nonsense. Now, he can say "Stop" without any problems, since he already established that he tells the truth.

(4). It shows that he can recognize errors and learn from those errors, unlike others, who have never done anything wrong. That is an important sign of a good manager.

He didn't let them "publish

He didn't let them "publish with only his signature". The newsletters were published as Ron Paul and Associates, and clearly has up to 8 people named on the front of it, including Murray Rothbard, Lew Rockwell, and Gary Allen depending on the issue.

They are lying when they say that.

A better question is not

A better question is not whether or not a publisher with a busy separate career has read every line of every article of every issue of every volume of four separate publications but rather why the other candidates and politicians have not and are not reading the bills they are voting on. How can they vote yes to anything they have not read or at least had a chance to have analyzed and reviewed for themselves.

Actually, that was a terrible

Actually, that was a terrible answer and killed the interview. Yes, of course you admit it was bad management because to say anything else says you're lying about your part in it. But that takes five seconds. He followed that up by rambling on and on for another full minute saying "I am not a racist." This is a losing tactic, and only reasserts the negative image of racism.

The question wasn't whether he was a racist. It was about what kind of manager he is. He turned it into a quagmire. When he could have said "I managed a successful medial practice for decades and I manage my congressional office so well that I turn back 100,000 dollars to the treasury every year, and I'm managing a darn fine campaign right now."

That's all that was needed, but Ron turned the entire thing into a mess. He'd have been better off sleeping in.

I have supported Ron for a long time, but it's always best to live in the real world. That was an awful interview because Ron just isn't very good at defending himself. A slimy worm like Santorum is a master at turning the question around and making horrible things sound reasonable. Ron is incapable of this.

reedr3v's picture

While it wasn't the smoothest rebuttal,

not one worthy of uber-groomed Romney and Obama with their evasive platitudes, it was very satisfying and real. Words can be distorted; Paul's sincerity speaks loud & clear.

and I think he's becoming a master at turning around an attack and zeroing in on the real problems and solutions, as in explaining the unjust legal system and laws and showing how he is the only true defender of civil liberties, in politics today.

I do not walk through my life

I do not walk through my life wearing Ron colored glasses. That was a poor answer because non-supporters and those on the fence will see it as a poor answer. Supporters are never the best judge of a candidate's projected personality. We know Ron's sincere. Others will see someone who basically admitted he's a poor manager and can't actually disprove he's a racist. Because NOBODY can disprove a charge like that. And IT WASN'T the flipping question. He turned a management question into a racist question. What person being interviewed does that? Only Ron.

We all like Ron and love what he stands for. But this was an epic fail of an interview. I suspect Doug Wead would have turned these questions on their head and slugged out a good interview. And so would any of the other candidates. People here don't think they ever get tough questions. They do. But they manage to turn them around because they have developed that skill. Ron simply doesn't have it or doesn't care to take the time to practice it. Because practice is all it takes. Not one of us thinks Doug Wead believes the liberty philosophy. But he's able to defend it because that is a skill he's developed.

I make comments like this because I have worked for Ron in both 1988 and 2008. And I wanted to see the campaign succeed this time even though I'm not directly involved. But nothing much has changed over all those years when it comes to handling interviews.

You are a Ron Paul supporter?

Yeah like Michelle Bachmann is an Austrian Economist or Gingrich and Hannity like Ron Paul. Beguiling and specious would be better descriptions for you. Go ahead and spew your disparaging drivel, no one is fooled by it.

I can see that you are truly a Ron Paul supporter

NOT - a fair wheather supporter at best. Go blog on HuffPo

You are right.

The truther question was the

The truther question was the biggest hit job I have seen perpetrated by MSM so far on Ron Paul, they are obviously desperate at this point. I cannot effing believe they would even bring something like that up and try, in some way, to put those words in his mouth. Their approach to try and rob support from him after months and months of campaigning in Iowa is below any decency whatsoever.

I hated that too.

I wonder who paid Dondero to say that?

PS. i love the "fireworks" on the sight.

~Your perception becomes your reality~

They brought it up because

it has been mentioned on every radio and TV show talking about Ron Paul. It is sad but the campaign needs to put an end to these ridiculous allegations. If not, in every debate from now on, all the questions pointed to him will be about race and 9/11 truthers.

Modern journalist checklist:

1)Under no circumstance can any of Ron's messages of freedom and liberty be told to the citizens, we will ask non-political questions that have nothing to do with anything but we will try to look important and pretend we are journalists.

2)When in doubt, dig in the bottom of the septic tank for questions to ask Ron Paul. But ask them with the sincere tone that "we're here to get to the bottom of it".

3)If you run out of septic tank questions, please feel free to ask the 3rd party question.

4)Under no circumstances will we accept any answer on the newsletters, nor shall we research to find any truth, but we shall read every page of Ron Paul's books to see if we can twist any of that out of context as well.

5)Make up a poll, biased of course, change numbers if necessary, and post it on the internet to make it appear legitimate. Mention this poll and refer back to #3.

The margin of error in that

The margin of error in that poll conducted by the thought controllers was +-6%.. Statistically that would indicate the weakness of the poll.

"The economy's not a class you can master in college. To think otherwise is the pretense of knowledge."

Exactly.

Exactly.

The USA is Ron Paul Country, at least according to Google.

I've been playing around with Google Insight, where you can chart the relative interest of searches in a specific geographic area.

Ron Paul is the clear leader in Iowa:

http://goo.gl/gMFN1

He is also in the lead in New Hampshire, although Romney is much closer here than elsewhere:

http://goo.gl/mAslZ

Paul is also clearly ahead nation wide:

It will be very interesting to see the correlation between searches and actual votes over the next few weeks.

WOW-FULL ATTACK MODE!!!

3 HITS PIECES - RON DID GREAT, THE MEDIA SUCKSSSSSSS & NOBODY MENTIONED THE 5.5 MILLION DOLLARS RAISED!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A COMPLETE SAD JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ron Paul has Addressed This!!! No Campaign Speech Required!!!

It is obvious that the main stream media is trying to bring Ron Paul down and destroy his campaign for President.

Ron does not need to make a major address on these newsletters. He needs to continue to talk about our personal liberty, the Constitution, foreign wars and spending.

The more he talks on these issues the more voters are cured of their apathy and come over to our side.

Once your eyes are open to Ron Paul you never leave.

Ron Paul did very well

I have come to the conclusion

I have come to the conclusion that the American people are basically stupid and careless. For our side to prevail, we need people who understand the definition of "conservative" does not mean endless war and endless spending. Conservative does not mean QE3 and Crazy war with Iran. Conservative does not mean too big to fail.

Look, these are all legitimate questions he was asked like it or not. He answered the questions well enough. However, until people are really hurting and hungry, the people will remain stupid. We just have to be tireless in defending the liberty message and educating people. God Bless Dr. Paul.

Surely you don't actually

Surely you don't actually believe "the American people are basically stupid and careless". Why worry about anything then? You should be cheering four more years of Obama, or a Romney presidency because either will hasten the downfall and destruction of an unsustainable system... right?

Yes I believe it. Go talk to

Yes I believe it. Go talk to anyone on the street.

It's is sad but true...

A large percentage of them are. Hopefully not a majority, but unfortunately there are many who fit that description.

Campaign Speech to address this

They are never going to stop they are trashing him left and right radio TV in print.

The campaign needs to have a speech with an black, jewish and gay supporter talking about Paul and his civil liberty views and Lew Rockwell needs to fall on this sword. We need a Jermiah Wright moment. I know this will piss some of you off, but I am being realistic here this is not going away, they will never stop and that dumb uneducated voter is never going to come around.

I'm sorry I have watched at least 10 reporters destroy Paul this morning.

No one has deputized America to play Wyatt Earp to the world.
-Pat Buchanan

You mean "try" to destroy him

As these 3 interviews attest, it can hardly be done.

Give a speech?

What makes you think ANY media outlet would air such a speech?

It MIGHT happen if he wins Iowa. But I doubt they'd show it even then.

Uh, one of the editors for

Uh, one of the editors for the newsletters is one of the best known libertarian writers and is jewish.

People need better access to the actual newsletters, instead of being feed intentional misquotes out of context. There isn't anything wrong with the original articles.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

I agree and posted earlier about this

You need to take this head on or every debate and every TV talking head brings it up over and over. People are spreading that Ron Paul is a 9/11 truther. People believe that now. Pretending it will go away is hurting the campaign.
Take it dead on. There is nothing to hide

I voted you down too.

I voted you down too.

What do you want Ron to do? Address every illogical and nonsensical thing they throw at him? They will just keep making shit up over and over. It will NEVER END. There is nothing Ron can say that will make it stop.

THE MEDIA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT WHAT RON SAYS.

Even when Ron addresses it, they still smear him, accuse him, etc. about that very accusation anyway.

It is the MERE ACCUSATION that does the damage, not his response or lack of response. Do you not get it?

If they can't use "Attack A" or "Attack B" anymore - because they've exhausted them - they will move to "attack C" and "Attack D"... and on and on. It will never stop. They will just keep making up new attacks.

Just drop it already.
