Breaking: ABC Reports on NDAA and Ron Paul - The comments are amazing

ABC NEWS has just put up on its front page that Obama has signed into LAW for the INDEFINITE DETENTION OF AMERICANS and reports that the only Republican Presidential candidate, Ron Paul stood against it.

Check out the comment section....alot of these people are not Ron Paul supporters either...and they are FREAKING OUT!

"In his last official act of business in 2011, President Barack Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act from his vacation rental in Kailua, Hawaii. In a statement, the president said he did so with reservations about key provisions in the law — including a controversial component that would allow the military to indefinitely detain terror suspects, including American citizens arrested in the United States, without charge.

The legislation has drawn severe criticism from civil liberties groups, many Democrats, along with Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, who called it “a slip into tyranny.” Recently two retired four-star Marine generals called on the president to veto the bill in a New York Times op-ed, deeming it “misguided and unnecessary.”

I disagree with the Joseph McCarthy reference. McCarthy was actually pointing out people like Obama who were at that time communists in our government. Much like the ones who have infiltrated the republican party today.

the bill allows the government to strip away citizenship of anyone partaking in hostilities against the united states, this can include protests like the Occupy movement. We NEED Dr. Paul to spread awareness of this bill

Tom, I checked this out and I am saddened and ashamed that one of my(PA) representatives sponsored this utter garbage. You should make a thread about this; everybody needs to learn about H.R. 3166 Enemy Expatriation Act. Like one of the commenters on reddit said that this it to close any potential loopholes in NDAA, making it easy to indefinitely detain American citizens, which buy this bill they would no longer be American citizens.

Can anyone find out more about Obama's support of NDAA? I read somewhere - can't remember where! - that it was the Obama Administration who wanted to ensure that American Citizens were INCLUDED.

Comment on there, posing as a deluded liberal, and make comments along these lines:

"Grrrrr....I'm so flaming mad at Obama now for this. He's just handed over the elections to the blasted GOP (insults to the GOP will probably get posted right away). I want a Dem primary now more than ever. I'm sick to my stomache that I will have no choice besides Obama this year.(threw up in my mouth writing that) I'm seriously considering crossing over and voting for the old kook otherwise those warmongers are gonna get some homophobe like Perry to run against Obama."

You're going to have to sound like a liberal to get your comment through. I don't like the idea of calling Paul an old kook just to get a post through over there but they would all know who I was talking about. This has the potential to further the Blue Republican movement but we are going to have to get in one way or another.

Ron Paul is a little on the high stung side but I would be also if no one at all listened me. he is not a warmonger he is the only candidate that wants ALL of the troops home. he is the only candidate that has spoken against NDAA bill and voted against it. he is the only candidate that knows we can't afford foreign aid while our economy is bad.he is against the government spending they way it is. my opinion he is the only candidate that CARES. there are things I don't like about him but there are more things I don't like about all the others and Obama, and I WAS a democrat

Obama specifically asked for the "american citizens" part to be introduced in the Bill threatening to veto it if it wasn't.
Basically the Reps wanted their contract money, the Democrats your civil liberties.

If you're not a minority, and you're not absolutely dirt poor, start worrying americans.
As seen in the DHS ads, the white Al-Qaeda is their next target.

Not only did he sign it new year's eve (and while on vacation) but he knows the GOP vote in Iowa will dominate the news right after the new year's coverage. Plus people will be watching a lot of sports as well.

The timing of this is really frightening when you think about it. It seems obvious how planned this was. When we comment on MSM articles about NDAA we should probably mention to people to come to dailypaul so they can learn more about Dr. Paul and allay any fears they might have about voting for him.

Sorry to nitpick: in the phrase "the INDEFINATE DETENTION OF AMERICANS", the 2nd word is "indefinite," not "indefinate". Also the MSM coverage of this has been intentionally misleading - Obomber's "reservations" about signing it weren't the result of some new-found civil libertarianism. In fact, the opposite was true; he was threatening to veto it because it wasn't broad enough, and it didn't give the executive enough ridiculous detention powers. It should be shocking that the lefty MSM is so eager to act as apologists for Obama's most illiberal, fascistic, neo-con Republican policies, but at this point, I would be more shocked if they reported on this even slightly honestly. They've finally marginalized the view that the 4th amendment should mean anything by making the opposing view bipartisan, and anyone who supports habeas corpus rights is now crazy, outside the mainstream, "to the left" of the dems, etc.
