HOT: Santorum Named "Most Corrupt" Senator by Watchdog Group in 2006

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) issued a report in 2006 entitled "Beyond DeLay: The 20 Most Corrupt Members of Congress (and five to watch)." From their site: "This encyclopedic report on corruption in the 109th Congress documents the egregious, unethical and possibly illegal activities of the most tainted members of Congress."

Santorum was one of only three senators named in the report.

Santorum is a JOKE!

Bump!:)

This needs to be spread far and wide!

Santorum is going nowhere

Santorum is going nowhere even if he does well in Iowa. He has no game anywhere else in the country. I still remember a couple of years ago when he lost in the largest margin ever for a Republican senator in his home state. He's gone under the radar of media scrutiny so far, but once some of these issues come to light he'll be back down in the single digits.

Probably right BUT

if he is not exposed before he leaves Iowa, we will pushed off to the side all week while the msm orgasms over his strong showing. The dominant story coming out of Iowa on how corrupt he is will be MUCH more beneficial to our work.

He deserves to be exposed as a fraud NOW, not next week or next month. If the criminals we are fighting think they can get mileage out of him they will take it as far as possible. We can't afford it.

Rick Santorum chose to be a fraud, susceptible to bribery. We should choose to expose him for it, now.

I only know of ONE guy who liked Santorum

It was a friend of the family, and he couldn't decide between Santorum and Dr. Paul, because he wasn't "sure that Ron Paul could win".

All it took was a quick "you decide who wins, not the media" to get him on board. So, for the people who're paying at least a little attention to what's going on, it's becoming VERY easy to get their support.

On the other hand...those people seem to be vastly outnumbered by those who either have zero idea what's going on in this country, or actually support it.

A signature used to be here!

He will have served his purpose to the establishment

if he beats Ron Paul in Iowa. This gives the media cover to ignore Ron Paul from that moment onward, which would likely spell doom in future contests.

That's the plan..

The GOP and the media is working hard to have Santorum beat Paul for second place in Iowa. That way Romney can pick up NH by a landslide and they'll have time to build up a Gingrich vs. Santorum race for SC... keeping Paul solidly in third or fourth place overall.

and that's why it's absolutely critical that Paul beat Santorum in Iowa.

Get it out there

I'm trying to put this info on every Santorum related article I can find on the internet, and I hope everyone on DP is doing the same. All this Santorum hype is sickening, and it needs to end NOW.

How Did This Fall Out of "Top Recent Topics"?

Google News Santorum. Any news that comes up, go to that article and post a comment discussing this 2005 and 2006 Most Corrupt Congressmen article and .pdf. We need Iowans to wake up with this on their front page news tomorrow before the vote.

I agree

"News and Headlines for Ron Paul" is fun and everything but we don't have time to be Fing around on the evening before Iowa. More people need to see this and blast it out. I've done several TV stations and news articles as have other DPers.

We could use some reinforcements...

The CREW report states Santorum....

Rick Santorum, as reported in CREW 2006 research, allegedly

1. used his Senate position to get his children tax-paid "cyber" education benefits when they lived outside the district,

2. accepted contributions from weather companies in relation to his legislative push to have tax money go to a private weather company proposing to collect weather data.

3. accepted contributions from tobacco companies as part of influencing legislation designed to further regulate the industry,

4. helped the beer companies and received related donations,

5. helped Puerto Rican medical care companies and received related donations,

6. helped push for coal-to-diesel plants and received related donations,

and

7. he received a "gift" from an affluent bank, which had lending requirements (eg. having 250,000 in liquid assets) Santorum allegedly couldn't meet, when it loaned Santorum money to purchase a house.

In other news, Google Santorum and you'll find things far worse than "dirt" near the top.

Just twitted this devastating article..hoping CNN Tweet Tracker

Picks it up.

Scrotum, you're GOING DOWN!!!

Rick Santorum "BOUGHT" to you by...

Santorum Ad on DP?

How does this crook (Santorum) have an ad on Daily Paul, asking for donations?

northstar's picture

Ad rotations

Michael has no control of that. Paid membership lets you block them. Or, just ignore them, something else will rotate into place. I just laugh at them when they pop up.

Real eyes realize real lies

We want our country back

Every year is a year for Ron Paul!

Maybe the ad is contextual in

Maybe the ad is contextual in nature and are not controlled by DP. It should be filtered, I don't want a single penny even having the appearance of going to Rick "I'm Corrupt Slime" Santorum.

Click on it!

You have to think of how advertising works. The money for the ad doesn't go TO Santorum, it comes FROM Santorum. Santorum spending money to run ads on the DP where they will get him NOTHING is a great way to pour his money right down the drain. (But I don't know if he gets charged per-view or per-click, that's why you should click through it just to make sure Santorum gets charged.)

Now that Kagan ad I keep seeing -- ugh, I'm going to have to gouge out my eyes!

Step 1: Comment on this CNN Article...

...about the corruption charges. This article is the front page caption of the DrudgeReport.

Not surprisingly, my comment is still "awaiting moderation"

Rick Santorum named one of the MOST CORRUPT CONGRESSMEN in 2005 and 2006. Fact:

[SHORT AND SWEET. DON'T MENTION RON PAUL or it'll get kicked immediately]

Hit their facebook

They invite comments on their facebook. I used that. It is instant. I have no problem with these media criminals knowing who I am. I am right, they are wrong!

This is standard operating

This is standard operating procedure for them. Santorum is a sickening individual, and the way he's being falsely portrayed as a viable conservative candidate is just disgusting but neocon radio has been pushing this puppet for weeks now after the Gingrich implosion. If you want to get to the heart of the matter, we need to find out who is pulling the strings behind Levin, Hannity, and these "conservative" rags who propagate Manchurian candidates like Santorum.

We are up against forces so evil that I'm not sure we actually comprehend the magnitude and depth of their treachery.

Check out

This could also explain why

This could also explain why all the major radio show hosts were conspicuously taking vacation at the same time. It would be reasonable to conclude that they were all meeting together to figure out their strategy for destroying Dr Paul and pushing one of these other psychopaths to the front.

Thanks, I will.

Thanks, I will.

I see Openminded

Mentioned beer lobbying. If you look at CNP's membership Coors is listed as a prominent member.

You're right.

I didn't mention RP either.

I just stuck with the facts.

does anyone else find it beyond 'coincidence'

that everyone who is running against Dr. Paul has some sort of easily ferretted out ethical or moral or political problem?

What is the MSM or the PTB behind it 'up to'?

!

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

I think they want four more

I think they want four more years of Obama. The only one they are really afraid of is Ron Paul And for that reason the American people need to elect Dr Paul as their next.

Just a thought...will Ron be the first medical Doctor President?

I don't know . . .

but it's vastly ironic that those of us who argue with the allopathic monopoly find one of our staunchest allies in Ron Paul--

:)

While disliking the medical monopoly, I like Dr. Paul!
