HOT: Santorum Named "Most Corrupt" Senator by Watchdog Group in 2006

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) issued a report in 2006 entitled "Beyond DeLay: The 20 Most Corrupt Members of Congress (and five to watch)." From their site: "This encyclopedic report on corruption in the 109th Congress documents the egregious, unethical and possibly illegal activities of the most tainted members of Congress."
Santorum was one of only three senators named in the report.

For someone who is a proclaimed Christian and family man, Santorum making this list is a shame and disgrace to my Christian faith. Wish he practices what he preaches. I guess when someone sounds too good to be true, they are too good to be true.

Not to worry, Santorum is just a tool to keep Iowans off balance. He's cutting into Mitt more than anyone. One thing Ron Paul supporters can take comfort in, is that our support is quiet settled in on our man! Let the others figet. Ron Paul will pick up his share of these unsettled people. To those who are going to caucus. When a Santorum supporter stands up lobby for him this will shut things down quick. Most people are not aware of this information and most will be taken aback.

One problem with corrupt candidates is risk of being blackmailed
They are then very susceptible to having one piece or another of hidden dirty laundry being outed, and this limits their ability to act independently.

when Santorum announced he was running for Prez , that our whole system is rigged with fraud . Here's a guy who supported that Traitor and former Senator - DC boys club member - Arlen Specter . I doubt this guy personally made the choice to run for Prez himself . I'm sure there was a "sitdown" with other corrupt Politicians when the decision was made .

Washington, DC – Today, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed a complaint with the Senate Ethics Committee alleging that Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) violated the Senate Gift Rule by accepting a mortgage from The Philadelphia Trust Company, a bank that serves affluent clients.
Melanie Sloan, CREW’s executive director, stated “the public has the right to expect that Senators – just like everybody else – will follow the rules. Sen. Santorum’s decision to accept a loan not available to other people in his financial position demonstrates his contempt for the rules. This is particularly ironic given that Sen. Santorum has long attempted to position himself as the poster child for public morality.”
