Double Bush Voters?

Please participate in this poll so we can show how diverse our political backgrounds are and better understand the demographics of Ron Paul supporters.

I am curious to see how many Paul supporters out there voted for Bush twice. I ask because I am one of those people. I even favored the war at first. At the time I was training to be an army officer and my Major asked us, right after we "won" in Iraq, what the US should do next. Almost everyone in the room at the time said we should leave because the mission was accomplished. My Major started explaining that we can't leave because of the typical reasons Neo-Cons usually cite. The next day, I quit the military training 2 weeks short of full commitment. It didn't feel like we were fighting for our freedom. I also felt that if we had to fight for our freedoms, Iraqis should and would probably want to fight for freedom for themselves with no strings attached. Thank God I am not in Iraq right now. Paul's arguments caused me to turn a complete 180. I am only glad I voted for Bush because it has spawned a political environment where a true libertarian is viable. I guess Paul is what I was always looking for. I think Republicans are soon to be a vestige of the past. We need a new party after this is all over. It doesn't matter what it's called (even "Republican" would be fine). Let the neocons ressurect the know nothing party they ideologically represent. We need a party that adheres closely to Paul's teachings. I do not seek to deify him but I do seek to deify his message. Truly, there is no message more universally appealing than Freedom. I will be sending good vibes to all you in Iowa today and I will continue to convert people here in Ohio and Southern Michigan. Thankyou to everyone on this site for restoring my faith in humanity. President Paul... has a nice ring to it. I love alliteration :)

My Two biggest mistakes, EVER!

My bad!

For God and Country!

For God and Country!

Second time, lesser of two evils

Lost my oldest brother in Vietnam, 1966. Medic, purple heart and silver star, but not worth the sacrifice. Kerry was not an option!

For God and Country!

For God and Country!

Guilty as charged!

How many times does one have to vote for "the lesser of two evils"? The vote is STILL EVIL! I guess I was a slow learner--

in the same boat. voted for

in the same boat.

voted for bush twice. initially believed in the "virtue" of removing Sadam, but even the day we invaded the question of why Iraq was in the back of my head. But that virtue was twisted and tainted by the neocons and democrats alike.

In reality I have been a libertarian at heart all along. Apathy prevented me from realizing this though. I always enjoyed debating the issues of politics, but I argued to much with the surface, and not enough with the guts, the foundation. Now I'm rethinking my foundation and how it applies to the Bible I read and the constitution I wish to serve and uphold.

The neocons made this into a war of virtue... of goodness. its no different then the democrats wanting to spread their socialist goodness via. healthcare and wellfare. Isn't that amazing to think about? I believe it is a frightening thing that government is playing in the areas of what is culturally right and wrong, rather then what is universally right and wrong. Its like the Nazi's believed what they were doing to the Jews as right. But of course we know they were far from this.

We should not allow our govt. to promoted a supposed form of virtue.

me too

I want to say that too. Good job.

what you took the time to

what you took the time to type out here is very impressive to me. KEEP IT UP!

Ooooh Noooo!

I can't vote! I voted for Bush in 2000 and 3rd party in 2004.

I'm a lifelong Republican

I'm a lifelong Republican and I voted for Bush twice. In the first election I chose Bush over McCain as I thought that Bush was a true conservative and McCain wasnt. Boy was I wrong. in 2004 I voted for Bush because as bad as Bush is I can't even imagine how bad Kerry would have been.

I didnt even know who Ron Paul was until a couple months ago. I kept seeing Ron Paul postings all over youtube and one day i went to his website. Now the more I hear him the more I like him. He has a few beliefs that I dont totally agree with but for the most part I think he is great. I have introduced him to a bunch of Republicans that really like him as well and are going to vote for him, although I also know alot of Republicans that think he is a whacko. I really hope he has a shot at the nomination. If not I will end up voting for whoever the republican nominee is as any one of them would be so much better than Hillary Clinton.

Keep the voting up so we can

Keep the voting up so we can get a large sample Thanks!

I did

I voted for Bush in both elections, though in 2004 I didn't decide to vote for him till the day of the election. I was very wary of him, but I thought he was better than Kerry.

Looking back now, I wish I had voted 3rd party at least.

I was in the Navy when we invaded Iraq. Right before it happened, I asked my Chief if he thought Iraq really had WMD or if they had attacked us and it had been kept out of the media. His response? "Who cares?! We're gonna go kill some towel heads!" That was the moment I started realizing I didn't want to be a pawn for GW Bush.

Unfortunately I voted for him twice

I had a check in my spirit the 1st time and was going to vote for McCain but my husband encouraged me to vote for Bush. The second time I still had a check but I ended up buying into the evangelical mindset that Bush will be better than Kerry and he will get strict constructionist judges on the court...blah, blah, blah....yep he sure did want those STRICT constructionist judges (Harriett Myers ...remember her....not at all what one would call constructionist).

My eyes were opened at Bush's first press conference after the election when he said that he was going to use his BIG political capital and bring about change with .....drum roll please......MEDICARE reform???!!!!!!

Every evangelical at that VERY MOMENT knew that had been played.

My husband and I then both agreed that we were through with the LESSER of 2 evils and started looking for another party. We found one and I want to encourage others to check out the Constitution Party. They have actually all but endorsed Ron Paul ....and have even stated that they are going to wait as long as possible to see what happens with the rep. nomination b/c they would love to have him run as their candidate.

There is no need to re-invent the wheel ...this party has been around for awhile and advancing slowly with more and more name recognition (it is equal to the size of the Libertarian party and larger than the Green party.)

Here is the link for others to check out the Constitution Party.

Yes, bush twice...

I am sorry to admit I voted for Bush twice and for that I apologize. I will NEVER vote for a neo-conservative again.

Ron Paul leads the way, ALL the way!

the name of the new party

the name of the new party should be the "Democratic-Republicans."

That is brilliant. Did you know that was the original name of the Democratic Party? I believe Jefferson was a Democratic Republican

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."- JFK

Republican 2.0

Republican 2.0

Democratic-Republicans

We need a new party after this is all over. It doesn't matter what it's called (even "Republican" would be fine).

To ironically reflect the status of the corrupt two-party system (and false paradigm) that Rudolf W. Giuliani says has "served us well," the name of the new party should be the "Democratic-Republicans."

On so many levels this is apropos.

The banner of the Freedom, Peace & Prosperity Movement is carried by the modern-day Thomas Jefferson, Dr. Ron Paul. Thomas Jefferson was a member and founder of the Democratic-Republican Party.

Also, the name reflects the vestiges of the countless Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians and Independents who have formed this coalition of U.S. Constitution Loyalists for whom Liberty for all Americans is the top priority.

Let the name Democratic-Republicans stand as a monument to Americans who have "had enough" (as Dr. Paul would say) with the corrupt system and fraudulent paradigm that has brought us the likes of the George Bushes and Billary Clintons and the destruction of our Constitutional Republic.

I feel ya on that

I feel ya on that

I have never

voted for anyone with the last name of "Bush" and never for a single marxist-democrat candidate (for any office) and for only one republican presidential candidate, in the past.
