DC Tea Party Founder Endorses Ron Paul

Source: ronpaul2012.com

Writes Lisa Miller, founder of Tea Party WDC:

I’ve been a supporter of Michele Bachmann since I founded Tea Party WDC in the spring of 2009. I’ve appreciated her stalwart support of Tea Party activities and in her speeches she maintained allegiance to our principles of fiscal responsibility, Constitutional limited government and free markets.

It wasn’t until I was sexually assaulted by a female TSA employee at Reagan National Airport in September on my way to Florida for the Tea Party Presidential debate that I took another look at her vote for the Patriot Act, which created the conditions for the assault. As the risk/benefit can’t justify the body x-rays or the pat downs on domestic flights I realized that their are all types of mal-investment. Preying upon fear is just another tactic to justify more government spending. As I live a few miles from the Pentagon, I realized that I had fallen for it too.

I was please to find (Ron Paul) hadn’t passed much legislation. As we are choking on all the laws and regulation Congress produces, his instinct not to add to our burden was refreshing.

Ron Paul’s platform proposes the deepest cuts in a manner that, by the end of his Presidency, the private sector will have not only recovered the jobs eliminated but be on our way to full employment.

I applaud his well thought out policy prescriptions in consolidating and streamlining enumerated powers so we have a stronger military with more effective strategic tactics when dealing with real threats. We will have less civilian and military casualties with better relations and business opportunities the world over.

Our debt is our greatest National Security risk…

No government program will ever match the strengths of a free market. The math says we can’t wait another four years to cut government spending. The misguided view that big government can be “fixed” would be a disaster and would continue this horrid slide into poverty and impotence.

A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for a more just society where the most people have the most opportunity.

Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

Apparently several people, actually nearly half of the posters in this thread have forgotten a wise old saying: "Never look a gift horse in the mouth." In case any of you don't understand exactly what that means, please see my post below entitled "Gift Horse."

How does the "Gift Horse" saying apply here you might ask? This leader, Lisa Miller, is our "gift horse." We didn't recruit this person, the heavy lifting was done for us by the TSA and the screw-ups in government who support the loss of liberty. Therefore, she is in fact a "gift horse." And here many of you are, effectively yanking her mouth open by criticizing her late entry into the fight, her grammar, her leadership and whatever else the shortsighted naysayers have found to criticize her about and place in the comments here.

I'm especially miffed about the grammatical criticism. Whenever someone criticizes my grammar or spelling in a debate, I always slam them with the saying, "yeah right, criticize my spelling, truly the last refuge of a scoundrel, cause you ain't got no game" (and the deliberate grammatical error in "'cause you ain't got no game" is just another jolt of electricity I jab into their snarky little mindset). It truly is the last refuge of a scoundrel.

Maybe you naysayers all laid into her because she took too long to "see the light" as it were. Or maybe you have an inferiority complex and making a post as unwise as the ones made here makes you all feel better? But to pick on a person who is not a professional PR type, but a lay person who had the courage to step up and take the "reigns" (pun intended) is shortsighted. When she grabbed those reigns she prevented the fledgling tea party, in one of the nastiest regions to form one, from galloping (lol) headlong into a ditch and to pick on someone that honorable is lower than whale dung. If the second reason was what you were after, making yourself feel better, do you really feel better now? I hope this message wipes that feeling out of your snarky little brains with a vengeance. Who knows for sure what your reasoning really is, only you can provide that info.

In any case, bashing her upside the head in a public forum?? Not to bright you misguided Einsteins. Where does any self-respecting, newbee paul-bot find the bestest (and if you slam me for that, I'll break it off in ya), latest and greatest news and info? The DP, that's where (thank you Michael Nystrom). And when she gets here, what does she see? She see's this kinda crap from you naysayers, thereby confirming all the B.S. out there about how Ron Paul supporters are a bunch of ungrateful, whiny, rude crybabies. Smooth move ex-lax.

To correct this colossal blunder you naysayers have just made, I strongly suggest you all retract your posts before our new ally from the DC tea party spots them. This is easy to do if no one has replied, you just click on edit and start holding down the delete key. You can even edit the title if it would be offensive to our new gift. Otherwise get a mod to assist you in removing it.

Back to grammer, if you really DO care about what that statement looks like on the Ron Paul 2012 site, you should contact her personally (or RP 2012) and give gentle, constructive advice and see if she can get her submission to the site edited.

Now go see if you can fix your screw ups. Also, check up on your critical thinking skills because leaving posts out here like the ones you naysayers made for our newbee to see leaves me in serious doubt as to their condition. Did I get my "their" correct in the previous sentence? Sheesh...

How big of a gift do we risk losing if she sees this? Lisa Miller is what we in the John Birch Society (when I was still a member and chapter leader) call an "opinion molder." Another saying to describe it is that she is a "force multiplier." She has the ears, minds and hearts of every member of the DC tea party. I'm fairly certain of this because why would someone join an organization with a leader they hate? Now, all those members know people who are not members. They may have friends and relatives scattered all throughout the U.S.A. And all of those people in turn have friends and relatives so the potential to pick up supporters from this conversion is nearly limitless.

Again, I'd like to bring us back to critical thinking skills. When I first read the comments on grammar, I was miffed just because I find it distasteful. But my very next thought was "Oh no, she's a Paulinista now and what if she sees this?" This is what I mean by deep critical thinking. My hope is that all the naysayers in this thread give this concept a try before applying your fingers to a freakin keyboard in the future. What has been demonstrated here by quite a few posts in this thread indicates to me that this area, for many of you, needs work.

Sincerely,

Paul C. Hanson

It is better to look dumb and not be, than to look smart and not be.

Better late than never. But

Better late than never. But it's too bad that Lisa Miller had to be sexually assaulted by the TSA herself before she realized that the TSA and the Patriot Act (both favored by Bachmann) are key components of a police state.

We need more people to wake up before they become victims themselves.

Too little...

How to bring in more neocons

I think Ron needs to come to terms with the fact that we need a bigger tent. We should close the bases in the middle east. However maintain a strong carrier and destroyer fleet in international waters so a quick strike is available if needed. I think the warmongers can swallow that pill.

Just a thought.

He certainly should be spending some time painting a clearer picture of what a Ron Paul military would look like. The typical sales job . . . how does your product benefit the potential customer.

For the ones that disagree with Ron Paul's foreign policy, they are concerned that they won't be protected properly . . . they are not concerned about any of the other counties. Even when they speak about Israel, it is in terms of how it will affect the US if Israel went down. They won't admit it, but you can hear it in their words they speak.

They live in fear of not being in control of all potential threats.

It's really sad

That people can only challenge their own belief systems after they have suffered some loss. They ridicule us for having the foresight to try and protect the republic before it is destroyed. I'm glad that this person is on board, but pissed that I have to live in a legislative prison because the mental abstracting capability of so many are locked in a left brained prisoner mentality. I am afraid it will take more dramatic examples to wake the rest of the belief-system zombies up. I pray Ron Paul or Rand that liberties change won't be too late.

Astute Observation!

Jerry Doyle recently discussed this very issue, and that Ron Paul supporters have the ability to imagine and project current paradigms into the future. We are the portion of the population that can "do the math" as if were. He believes that this is why a great many of us are into Sci-Fi -- suggesting that those attracted to futuristic fiction have this inate capacity and empathy. Most do not and must be directly effected (ie must have something bad happen to THEM) before they can realize the truth.

My son (the brilliant one) also points out this same truth, counceling patience in the R3VOLution, for, as soon as a majority are directly effected then all MUST then awaken. It is inevitable.

WE are, not only, witnessing history my friends, but more then that we are actively participating in taking the future into our own hands as true activists/futurists for the continued existance of mankind on this planet. Any other way, other then LIBERTY, is doomed. We instinctly perceive this truth and are passionatley compelled to educate and to lead, it is our duty and responsibility...

For LIBERTY!

Great! The more the merrier. Welcome, Lisa.

Your insight will be valuable to help more Michele B followers to navigate towards RonPaul camp.

Should we send Troops for Ron Paul videos to the WDC TeaPty members?

Wow ... no sh*t Sherlock

'Leader' of Tea Party comes out in endorsement of the original godfather of her Tea Party ...

... only after she personally gets groped.

Brilliant.

Is this some kind of leader?

Is this some kind of leader? Did she really make this announcement and use their instead of they're? Oh, yeah, that will help people take what you say seriously. Ugh.

Gift horse

Apparently Red you have forgotten a wise old saying: "Never look a gift horse in the mouth." Since you seem to have forgotten that saying, let me remind you of exactly what it means. Back when trading/selling/buying horses was a common activity and probably still today, checking the horses mouth was a fair indicator of the horse's condition. You could tell quite a bit about the condition of a particular animal that way. A reasonable guess at age by the tooth wear, how it was maintained by the overall conditions in the mouth and by bit wear one could tell how hard it had been worked over its life. However, when someone GIVES you a horse for free, you don't go yanking open the horses mouth in front of the gift giver.

How does the above apply here you might ask? This "leader" is our "gift horse." We didn't recruit this person, the heavy lifting was done for us by the TSA and the screw-ups in government who support the loss of liberty. Therefore, she is in fact a "gift horse." Wow. You really pack a

Wow. You really pack a punch, don't you?

Well, you know what? I agree for the most part. I admit that I did not consider Lisa or anybody other than Daily Paul readers to see my post. Also, I did not stop to consider that she is just a normal person like the rest of us and not a someone used to public statements. Lastly, I believe she has done more for the cause of liberty than I ever have.

So Lisa, if you read this, I apologize for my public criticism. That was not smart of me.

But to be honest, I am still a little annoyed at the campaign for posting this publicly without proof reading. I've seen this kind of thing before on RonPaul2012.com and it does have a negative impact.

Thank You.

I kn ow once a comment is made and there are replies, it is hard to get them removed. The sincere apology is probably better anyway. Thanks.

And I agree, the campaign holds the major responsibility for the content of the site. As busy as it is though, a screw up here and there is not unexpected. If they used a spell checker on it, that particular error would not have been caught.

I was still a little wound up over the 3 interviews where nothing but attacks were hurled at the good Dr. and I think it manifested somewhat in my post to you. Sorry about that.

I'm a big picture type and that kind of deep critical thinking is just something that happens, I can't really help it. My mind just jumps 3 steps ahead. What I don't understand is if that's the case, why am I such a crappy chess player?

Paul.

"Maybe you laid into her

"Maybe you laid into her because she took to long to "see the light" as it were."

Don't you mean "...she took too long..."?

Please read my post again.

Especially the part about the last refuge of a scoundrel and then apply it to yourself. I bet you though that was funny huh? Nailing me for a typo right after I ranted about how despicable that crap is. I'm not laughing.

Not that I even need to defend myself here but I frequently have to pick up this keyboard and twist it to loosen the keys because they don't depress well. This is especially true when I type double letters because they are 2 quick keystrokes in a row and many times the second is missed. The spell check misses that particular one because it is a viable word.

I find myself using this keyboard more often than I like due to recent open heart surgery to replace a congenital aortic valve problem. I got used to using it when I was stuck here on the couch for 6 weeks. Trust me I'd rather use my logitech G-15 hardwired gamer but since I got used to this and was here in the living room on my media PC I decided to type it here. This wireless one needs help.

I bet ya your snarky comment doesn't feel so cool anymore eh? Picking on someone 9 weeks out of open heart surgery that had a 1 in 20 chance of dying on the table alone, let alone complications due to stroke from an artificial valve. Of course you couldn't possibly have known all this ahead of time, but you may have thought about the conditions under which other posters on here suffer. Again, this brings me back to the subject of deep critical thinking. Yours skills in this area may need some work.

Paul.

Hey man, I think he was just

Hey man, I think he was just yanking your chain.

The reason I was disappointed is because this was a press release / public statement published for the world to read on Ron's official campaign site. Lisa is a patriot and I was wrong to criticize her in public. These are stressful times as you know and I didn't consider all the factors.

I still think that the person at RonPaul2012.com who posted her statement should have caught the mistakes, though.

So glad you are well enough to post. Who cares about the double letters. Happy you are able to lift your arms. We all have to keep in mind that each of us has obstacles in our paths but are fighting in our own own way and in our own time.

Actually, the correct word to

Actually, the correct word to use in that particular position in the cited sentence would be "there" and not "they're" or "their."

Nope. I'm just having fun

Nope. I'm just having fun now, but she intended to say either "they are" or "they're" which would be the contraction of the same thing.

I don't really care all that much, but it is frustrating to see somebody go through the effort to endorse Ron, but not bother to proofread a statement she expects many people to read.

Long sigh ... she just made a typo (like you).

She wrote:

"... I realized that their are all types of ..."

However, what she should have written is this:

"... I realized that there are all types of ..."

The correct word to use in this instance is there.

..saw that. Knocked her

..saw that. Knocked her credibility down a few notches for me..if you can't proofread when you are making an important statement publicly, like that, I lose respect for your mentality. Other than that, am glad she said what she did. I also welcome her and any new supporters she can get. I and a few others will end up on a LEARN ENGLISH crusade, but oh well..
