Bob Murphy offers his insight on the Ron Paul newsletters and who may have wrote them.

Not to beat a dead horse but I came across a terrific article on defending the Mises Institute and defending the newsletters issue. The first part of the article talks about the Mises I. But the 2nd half breaks down the idiocy of the "racial" newsletters.

He tells us that Lew Rockell did not write them but knows who did. Problem is, this person has passed away. So it would not benefit anyone to mention who because if Rockwell comes out and says who wrote them that it won't satisfy the Critics because they will just accuse Ron Paul of blaming a dead person instead of taking responsibility for it (which would totally happen).

I just wonder since Rockell maybe knows who it was then surely Dr.Paul does as well. Although Ron is an honest man and if he truly says he doesn't know then I believe him.

All in all a great read and some insights into the Mises I.

Ask your friends if they are ready to stop dancing to the politically correct's agenda and elect a true liberator.

Don't Vote For Ron Paul for anything less than

so why did the pretty blonde liberal...

...commentator, Kristen Powers, call it "scores and scores of pages" Monday night on Faux Snooze??

Oh, wait, never mind.......

worth your time

Its good to read articles like this. I for one dont know how the Rockwell stuff started but im 99% sure he wouldn't write things like that. Murphy makes a great case and I think it is plausible that the original author has most likely passed on and therefore it is worthless to look into it. Its worthless to look into even if the author is alive, but more-so if the individual is no longer living.

Good find!

I would also like to add...Didn't Lew build the greatest oasis for Austrian economics in the entire world? Just because its in Auburn Alabama doesn't make it racist; if that were true wouldn't the u of Auburn be racist by default?

Lew also created the best read libertarian web site in the world. Maybe the DP will take it over someday, but he has done very well up to this point.

Those actions indicate Lew is a true blooded individualist. Couple that with the fact he is a professional writer and publisher with an English degree and as Bob Murphy mentions, he is incredibly serious all the time. If he does have any humor it is very prim and proper with the dryness of the Sahara desert. When is the last time you read a serious professional writer or publisher document any of his or her own racist thoughts. Let alone an author as dedicated to the cause of true individual liberty as Lew Rockwell.

I respect people's right to

I respect people's right to vote things down but I'm confused as to why considering its a positive piece?

i was confused at the negs

i was confused at the negs too.

Bob had good things to say. I've been in the movement for 25 years and i thought had a clue as to who it was, but this article, if the death part is indeed correct, means that my guess is incorrect.

I had voted for him in '88, and I have seen a few newsletters back in the day. None of the ones they were talking about though. I used to see this stuff at Gun Shows and the like.

EDIT: ...and no, i don't think Lew wrote them. Nor Tucker.

Proof

that people make up their mind on something before they even read it. Too bad because Bob makes some really good points.

Right on. When I first read

Right on.

When I first read that the person passed away I immediately thought of Murray. But I've read plenty of Rothbard and it's definitely not his style of writing. Not to mention I don't think he would waste his time writing for a silly newsletter considering he wrote some of the great masterpieces of Austrian economics.

But it would be interesting to look through who in the movement at that time was involved and has since passed away.
