2012: Happy New Year, Everyone, the Year FREEDOM is Re-born for Alltime!

Although I couldn't find my favorite rendition of it, here is my second favorite rendition of Auld Lang Syne, both of which are nearly identical to each other and are by this gentleman and his orchestra:

Try listening to it without watching the video first. Let your images, if this song induces you to have them, be your "video." Closing your eyes or looking elsewhere while listening can help you catch the subtleties of this song, the full measure of appreciating it.

Goodnight, everyone, and see you tomorrow, or later today, the first day freedom shall shine forever more!

AULD LANG SYNE

Waterloo Bridge, 1931. LEONARD MALTIN MOVIE REVIEW:

James Whale. Mae Clarke, Kent Douglass (Douglass Montgomery), Doris Lloyd, Frederick Kerr, Enid Bennett, Bette Davis, Ethel Griffies. Excellent early-talking picture version of the tearjerker romance made famous in its 1940 remake. Clarke delivers an exceptional performance as an American chorus girl in WW I London. The film has a grittiness (missing from the remake) that lenient pre-Code [ratings] standards allowed. One of Davis' earliest films.

Waterloo Bridge, 1940. Remake w/ rating standards. None of this. None of that. Yet, war unrestricted.

Disclaimer: Mark Twain (1835-1910-To be continued) is unlicensed. His river pilot's license went delinquent in 1862. Caution advised. Daily Paul
