Ten Thousand Ron PaulsSubmitted by jrowberg on Tue, 01/03/2012 - 14:45
Here on this day of the first GOP primary, hours before the Iowa caucuses, I want to make an observation. It isn't news so much as encouragement.
Ron Paul is truly a great statesman, consistent, principled, trustworthy, smart, and many other ameliorative adjectives that would get boring if I kept going. But this alone is not why we will win.
Ron Paul has an enormous following of energetic, excited, motivated people who believe he should be the next President. But this alone is also not why we will win.
We will win because the quality and interest of his supporters has created a powerful army not of mindless drones or starry-eyed idealists, but of principled, reasoning, liberty-loving and politically awakened individuals.
He has inspired ten thousand more statesmen just like himself. Ten thousand Ron Pauls.
These are people who will eagerly run for office in the near future, regardless of the outcome of the presidential election.
These are people who can effectively communicate the constitutional, economic, political, and moral justification for even difficult decisions not because they memorize and regurgitate, but because they research and comprehend.
These are people who will be able to cultivate the same kind of magnetic support, albeit on a smaller level, for the cause of liberty within their own circles of influence.
These are people who could, in all likelihood, be dropped into the office of the President of the United States and fully emulate a Ron Paul administration, not because they are "Paulbots," but because they understand the role of government in the same clear way that Ron Paul does.
These people are the future of American politics. There are too many to ignore, too many to marginalize, too many to defeat now. The establishment cannot survive against such an attack based in truth and principle.
