AlterNet: Should Big Media Choose Our Candidates?

Should Big Media decide for the rest of us who is -- and more importantly who is not -- a viable candidate for president? It's bad enough that thus far the reporting of this year's quadrennial presidential pursuit has been even more insubstantial than ever, focused on the horse race, the fundraising, the polls, the pundits, the haircuts and assorted other bits of silliness -- anything other than actual issues of concern to voters and importance to the world.

Now we find Big Media, (specifically its Fox/ABC News wing,) determined to narrow the field of presidential candidates before any of us, other than a handful of white people in Iowa, even get a chance to vote!

Both television networks plan to winnow out presidential candidates they deem unacceptable and prevent them from participating in important debates to be held this weekend -- just before the crucial New Hampshire primary.

my old post last dec29-psyops

my old post last dec 29,just in case you havent read it.i didnt know how to put it in the home page area.sorry.

hello,

I hope i don't distract you all from what you are individually doing.
This is just a little suggestion if possible.

I have read the "conditioning" that comes whenever RP supporters are labelled as "fringe" or his campaign as a "longshot". This has a subliminal effect.

It is about time we counter this on our own terms. Subtly, if you can, whenever any of you are interviewed or in any of your posts, stop referring to MAINSTREAM-MEDIA or TRADITIONAL-MEDIA. This is a euphemism that doesn't do any subliminal damage.

you can refer always to them as "OLD MEDIA". over and over, until the repetition gains its full credence as a subtle derogatory term that they couldnt counter, like the "fringe" label.

also, in referring to polls, always inject the term[like they always inject "longshot" or "cannot win" or any subliminal cues] - "OLD-MEDIA LANDLINE POLLS".

If somebody can come up with a better, catchy, subliminal phrase that can "discredit" them[like they do with RP campaign and supporters], please do.

This is psyops my friends. we could counter it. we can play their game. we could turn the tables around.

as it is repeated over and over, the MSM, i mean old media, irrelevant media, will be forced to be on the DEFENSIVE about it. especially the "low on polls" subliminal cue.

please repeat it over and over, in all blogs, interviews and articles.

the only thing to remember is that IT MUST BE SUBTLE! It is a subliminal cue.

you can all start subtly injecting the phrases on this Fox Iowa thing and if they again inject "low on national polls". over and over repeating it, people will believe that it is just "old media landline polls". [or even - corporate-sponsored polls, hehe, take your pick]

Thanks everyone. good luck to all your efforts

i think they had to think hard then to come up with words that subliminally put this campaign into the defensive, but not overly obvious and pushy. they came up with the "fringe" label. Sure enough, the supporters were put on the defensive after repeating it over and over.

good bye irrelevant, old, corporate controlled media. "MSM" and "traditional media" gives them credibility they dont deserve[as one supporter replied]. We must find something, some label to repeat over and over, that will slowly eat away into their credibility and put them on the defensive.

good luck on iowa guys. its really hard to feel helpless here abroad and not being able to be of use in a war that will affect me,even if im 9300+ miles away from you all. its 2am here and i cant wait to find news about the iowa results>> jc

Nice Article

but I think it's beating an old dying horse... I really like the new direction of calling it Old (dead) Media instead of big media. We WILL and ARE deciding. Everyone knows the only way this R3volution will be truly represented is on the net. Why do we keep expecting the Old Media to change. IF (and that's a BIG if) TV starts reporting true pertinent information to the American people, I guarantee that it won't be the same media controlled B.S. it is today. I never have come up with a viable option for TV w/o someone having too much control. I realize it's easy to be cynical about TV since I don't watch it at all but that's my point, you really don't miss a thing. The internet gives me everything I want to view.

Nice article

for coverage of Ron Paul, but... It's been many years since I visited Iowa, but I haven't heard that all non-"white" people have been run out of that state, or barred from voting there. So why the "handful of white people in Iowa" dig? Be nice if the liberals would let up on the racism.
