Precinct Captains are equipped to track voting

http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2012/01/on-caucus-day-dont-forget-about-ron-paul/250807/

Perhaps the biggest wild card in tonight's caucus calculation is Paul's army of non-traditional caucus voters. His campaign has spent the last four years building up its ranks, and is said to have tens of thousands signed up to storm the caucuses. They have a captain for every one of Iowa's 1,700 precincts, and each precinct captain has a computer with vote-tracking software.

So no more conspiracies please. The campaign is very well organized and ready to create a victory tonight if everyone will get involved with phone banking RIGHT NOW.

Stop worrying about vote fraud and make sure we have enough voters by helping the campaign directly.

Phone banking, you can do it too. It's easy.

I think they are mixing up

computers for phone banking and "getting out the vote" - not tracking the vote at the caucus. That would be a federal offense. I used a database program in 2008 of all the supervoters in my district, in order to garner support. All campaigns have the ability to purchase those databases.

In 2008, I was on the ballot for Ron Paul as an alternate delegate. I brought my camcorder in to record my voting and my name on the screen, but I was not allowed to do so.

There is NO SUCH THING as VOTE TRACKING SOFTWARE!!!!

If you can TRACK VOTES, you are breaking the law. This IS a lie, there's no software capable of tracking a paper ballot that must be counted manually!.

Please folks keep up the pressure

The pressure that they might get caught with wrong doing is the only thing that will prevent wrong doing. If they think every individual might have a camera on them they will be less likely to try.Strength in numbers will prevail tonight.Anyone that disagrees is full of it.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

Don't EVER let your guard down!

OP:
DO NOT, for a minute, pretend that Ron Paul supporters are wrong to be concerned!

We have not forgotten the very real cheating that took place all around the country during the 2008 primaries! There's plenty of documentation of the poor behavior some GOP insiders were willing to stoop to in an effort to control the results. They no longer deserve the benefit of the doubt!

Everyone, watch closely, record everything and take lots of pictures!

We didn't get cheated in

We didn't get cheated in 2008. We did a horrible job getting out the vote. That is why Campaign for Liberty was formed. Because activists spend more time watching the vote than they do voting.

Who's "we?

Because this was NOT the case everywhere! Google "2008 Louisiana caucus"... But there's no excuse for you not knowing about it.

By the time Louisiana came

By the time Louisiana came around, Paul had already lost. Paul was done after NH in 2008.

Freedom and Reason, the highest ideals.

"no more conspiracies please... Stop worrying about vote fraud"

Uh, no.

If you think it's a "conspiracy theory" that vote fraud can take place you should tell the Iowa GOP, FBI, Iowa Intelligence Fusion Center, Governor of Iowa, CNN, AP, and the rest of the corporate media. They apparently didn't get the memo.

Also, someone posted below:

Umm...

This is misleading, probably lying actually.

As one of the IA Precinct Captains, I'll tell you that I have no computer or vote tracking software.

This is hard to believe because...

This is hard to believe because everyone knows how critical this is and three heads are better than one. This is an "All hands on deck" issue tonight.Fraud must be captured if it happens. It is going to show it's self in the most unusual places and circumstances.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

Of course watch the vote

While you are doing so, actually cast a ballot. People on the ground in Iowa will be watching the vote. Your precinct should allow one person for each candidate to watch the vote. Our Ron Paul precinct captains have their own form to report the results back to the Paul campaign. In my caucus, I personally counted the votes. It was pretty disheartening the day after the 2008 caucus to come on the Daily Paul and see everyone implying that I apparently was complicit in this fraud.

Don't believe this guy he's most likely lying!!

Guys go watch the vote... bring a camera and take a pic of the vote tallys for your precinct

Facebook alert!!!!!

I just got a warning of this type topic going out to several forums. It's fake, they are still needing watchers!!!

CAUTION...

...original poster is a "TWO weeker."
I smell a rat.

The original poster

didn't write the linked article, did she (or he)? The rat would have to be theAtlantic.com.

Anyway, if you trust Dr. Paul's official Facebook page it says quite clearly they have the Iowa caucus monitored for fraud. Please see my comments lower in this thread.

and you think...

...theAtlantic.com is NOT a rat??

Well, you've got me there

theAtlatic.com certainly could be.

But, as I said. According to DR. PAUL via his OFFICIAL FACEBOOK PAGE the campaign feels confident in its ability to monitor the vote. Anyone who wants to dispute that would confuse the heck out of me...

NOTE: I'm NOT saying I'm not worried about vote fraud. I'm just not worried for the Iowa caucuses. NH is another story.

The people who are working

The people who are working against the campaign are the same people who undermined us with the GOP in 2008. They conveniently ignore what the campaign says, or cook up conspiracy theories about people in the campaign who have been working for the liberty movement and caucuses for several decades.

There is no reasoning with fanatics.

Freedom and Reason, the highest ideals.

Umm...

This is misleading, probably lying actually.

As one of the IA Precinct Captains, I'll tell you that I have no computer or vote tracking software.

What I do have is a campaign-provided tally sheet and a campaign phone number to relay the precinct tallies to the campaign.

It's not as high tech, but it's still a great fraud prevention system!

While we're not as armed as this article would suggest, we're certainly armed well enough to prevent vote fraud tonight!

You are doing God's work, and

You are doing God's work, and we are grateful no matter what the result. Although, I'm sure the result will be fantastic.

Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

I'm a precinct captain

And we're ready to watch the voting :)

On the phone banking thing. I have been called 7 times this morning, only once from the actual campaign, but 6 TIMES from volunteers!!! It's great and all that everyone is working so hard, but there needs to be some coordination before it ends up pissing someone off. It doesn't bother me, but I'll bet it's making some people pretty testy by now. I don't want all this work to backfire!

You guys are totally awesome!

..and I really mean it. Thank you very much.

Thank you

It's strange how little opposition has been voiced here to what is essentially a telemarketing campaign. Some people hate being called by strangers who are asking them for something (me among them).

Our opponents could just jump in bombarding everyone with phone calls to the point of harassment, and I doubt we'd even realize it was happening. This widespread assumption "we can never make too many phone calls" has gone unchallenged and can easily backfire.

We had this same problem in '08.

Vote fraud is common.

While I appreciate you posting this, there's no need to be condescending about "conspiracy" theories. There's a solid case to be built for the fact that Al Gore beat George Bush in 2000, and it's gotten even easier as neoconservative moral degenerates have continued to fill the ranks of the GOP.

if votes can be tracked and responsible party caught red handed

then it's not even accurate to describe it as conspiracy.. it's a crime

And likely today

There is no Real reason why they can't follow protocol and tally all counties/precincts at the IA GOP Headquarters. Ocuppiers have promised not to disrupt, voting is sacrosanct. Not much for Anonymous to hack, if there was a paper ballot back-up everywhere.

That being said, I am extremely glad there are so many precinct captains who will make sure they know what Their totals are. Hopefully they will all be able to compile their results and get the same number we are given by MSM.

I agree

For anyone in doubt about vote fraud all they need to do is watch the video Hacking Democracy (all Americans need to see it!):

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7926958774822130737

I'm not worried about Iowa as it's hard to defraud their caucus system. The way to do it is by lying about the totals from precincts, but that is defeated if the totals are being observed and totaled independently. It appears the campaign is doing that.

New Hampshire is next on Jan. 10th, and another story. About half of their vote will NOT be transparent and takes place on "black box" voting machines. We supporters need to soon turn our attention to that!
