If Ron had gone Democrat and challenged Obama instead...

It seems like his chances would've possibly been better than going in the GOP primary. Republicans aren't known for flexible thinking, whereas Democrats are considered more likely to be open to radical candidates and newer ideas. Ron's base is mostly young and anti-war people, and there are far, far more of them registered as Democrats. Furthermore, the party is quite disappointed with Obama's failures and I don't think there would be any reluctance with Democrats switching over to RP like there is with Republicans joining him.

Ron's least left positions are on economic policy, and that's Obama's weak points, both in his record and his arguments. As an "anti-corporatist" I think Ron could even come out looking great there too.

I'm not saying that he'd be a favorite, nor am I saying that this election is over...but perhaps his odds in that case may have been better?

He would lose

There are WAY to many that are brainwashed on the Dems as the "do good" party. Kucinich would be the only viable choice for RP supporters to help against obama, just simply to end the ridiculous wars. However, Kucinich is a bit to liberal on the social program crap for me. I would still vote for him though...

He could run as a Cleveland

He could run as a Cleveland Democrat! But nahh, Ron running as a Democrat? No way!

...just plain wrong. Sorry~~

While Republicans of today

While Republicans of today are the worst warmongers, Democrats have engaged in the most and worst, wars. WWI? Woodrow Wilson D. WWII? FDR D. Korea? Truman, D. Vietnam? LBJ, D. Kosovo, Desert Fox? Clinton, D.

Jimmy Carter was probably as close to a peaceful Democratic president as we've come in recent years.

Democrats have been bought and payed for by the war party same as Republicans. Look at how they treat Denis Kucinich. Like a leper simply because he is a vocal opponent of perpetual war. At least as bad as the GOP has treated Paul.

Would never happen

But it certainly would've been interesting to see Gary Johnson take on Obama from the Democrat side. That would've been something to watch.

Are you kidding?

Have you watched the Young Turks lately? These are your progressive democrats. Have fun trying to win Michael Shure or Ben Mankiewicz over.

Say what?

Yeah, those Dems are really small-government types.

No chance as Dem

Democrats are democrats because they like social programs and redistributing wealth with taxes. The party is disappointed in Obama not doing more social projects and spending more money.

Bad analysis. Sorry man.

The only thing they have in common is the anti-war stance. Most democrats aren't informed and still are in love with Obama and don't know why.

agree with both of you

agree with both of you

sorry but the people do not pick the elctorate

in the Democratic party 51% of the delegates are super delegates = Elected officials. There is no way for people who vote in the Democratic party to ever reach 51% to overcome the super delegates. The Democratic party has no way to have Demo-crazy in it for electing the president it's all a scam. When you vote in your rep's you give them president picking authority so you have a dictator. They are complete authoritarians. This is why they must control the education system and destroy the curriculum. They need you stupid. T!rust me I was one for 40 years. Thank God I was a blue dog gun loving Democrat who found Ron Paul and had very good history teachers and actually had a civics class in high school.

You didn't take into account

You didn't take into account one thing: It is nearly impossible to run against a sitting president. There would be no debates, etc. No real way to run against Obama. Nope non-starter.

well... what if your grandma had a penis

she would be your grandpa.just kidding. no time for this question.
