Got an email from Ron Paul Campaign tonight asking for donations. Would love to donate to a Newt "the chicken hawk" money bomb to expose his draft dodging hypocrisy.

the original would not work for me.

I can't stand Gingrinch.

As the government was drafting poor and misled young men to go off to Vietnam, that sucker Gingrinch (and many others of the elite class) were getting their way with the draft boards. I remember it very clearly and I was super pissed as I was sitting in the pouring rain in a 110 degree jungle, ten thousand miles from home. Thanks Newt you a**hole. I hope you get jungle rot in the knickers.

Draft = Slavery

This has absolutely nothing to do with Newt Gingrich unless he believed it too. Since we can all agree that he doesn't, it wouldn't have affected HIS decision. I believe he was quoted as saying that he didn't believe one person could make a difference, paraphrased.

Secondly, I would still call draft dodging cowardly. Unless you are doing ANYTHING in your power to stop your fellow Americans from being forcibly conscripted into slavery against their will it is a moral scapegoat.

I wouldn't even call draft

I wouldn't even call draft dodging cowardly (if you are against war). It's one thing to fight on your home soil to protect you and your family's life and freedoms...it's quite another to go overseas and fight to overthrow a regime.

The cowardly part comes in when you later become a warmonger and want others to go to the front lines...when you were never willing to go yourself.

“Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it’s realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy.”
― Ron Paul

I don't think we disagree. What I said has nothing to do with today's military as it is all voluntary.

I'm just saying that to avoid the draft on the basis that it is slavery or leads to the murder of innocents (a moral objection) holds no water with me if you're going to stay home and do nothing as your government takes your countrymen as slaves to send them off to die or kill other innocents.

Personally, I think the latter is more morally repugnant.

Finally someone calls out

Finally someone calls out these draft dodging hypocritical bastards. Thanks Doc.

DRAFT IS SLAVERY!!! Don't like Newt...but I'm not killing innocent people, no matter what! Newt shouldn't be talking about anything related to military, but it comes off like Dr. Paul was calling him a wussy because he didn't go ( i know he wouldn't say that just perception). A DECENT PERSON wont be a slave and kill innocent people just because some people in Washington tell him to. Just rubbed me the wrong way i guess...to each their own.

The draft is not the issue at

The draft is not the issue at hand, the issue is the neocon hawks' incredible hypocrisy.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Ron Paul has always opposed the draft.

What he objects to is Newt wanting to send OTHER people off to die, when Newt himself avoided military service. No contradiction in Ron's views here.

I agree, BUT

To not go and then be a strong advocate of the middle-east wars when you don't have to risk your own life is hypocritical..

Also if he wished to save life he could have been a medical doctor like Ron was..

its serial hypocrisy...

a truer term was never coined when referring to the grinch!

Punching down is a waste of

Punching down is a waste of time.

Freedom and Reason, the highest ideals.

Not when you have someone hanging on your leg

while you're trying to climb the ladder. Newt can still do a lot of damage by defining Ron into something he's not. If he can't shake him off his leg he needs to knock him out.

Generally I would agree with you, but in this case I don't see it that way.

punching down?

Newt deserves a punching down, then a kick in the teeth! He is the definition of scumbag.

The bold effort the present bank had made to control the government ... are but premonitions of the fate that await the American people should they be deluded into a perpetuation of this institution or the establishment of another like it-Andrew Jackson

Gingrich is still a perceived front-runner

In some peoples eyes. And he is still leading the national polls along with Romney currently.

I Love how this time around he isnt afraid to fight back and slam his detractors!

I Love how this time around he isnt afraid to fight back and slam his detractors!

Now, let's see if the campaign picks up on this.

The campaign needs to go on the OFFENSIVE over the war issue.
I've said this for weeks. The campaign dropped the ball on hard hitting commercials on the the war issue and the National Defense Authorization Act and that likely cost a victory in Iowa.

Conscience Objector verses Draft Dodger/Coward

In time of war all can serve. Those whose faith preclude them from taking up arms against their fellow man have served with great Honor in the field as Medics. It has been said that the life expectancy of an unarmed non combatant battlefield Medic is 30 seconds as the white circle with red cross on their helmets make them easy targets. Gingrich, Romney and Sanatorium wouldn't know anything about that.

Voluntary Association + Mutual Cooperation + 110% Personal Responsibility = 100% Individual Liberty

Draft = slavery... PERIOD

I dislike Newt but calling him a slavery-dodger is not much of an insult. On the other hand, dodging slavery, then advocationg enslaving others is evidentiary of Newt's serial hypocrisy.

but that's not the issue.

The issue is the hypocrisy of advocating for War but not having the ballz to put your own life on the line.

♫♫ You say you want a R[ƎVO˩]UTION ♫ Well you know ♫♫

Those whose faith prevents them from killing their fellow man ..

in war often register as a conscience objector. I wonder how many of those "conscience Objectors" voted for Santorum last night?

Get 'em, RON!!!

About DAMN TIME someone points out "this hypocrisy" on the part of Newt...and others!

is Ron Paul really the only

is Ron Paul really the only candidate (including Obama) that served in the military during a war?

Perry also served....but he

Perry also served....but he is really a back number now.

I do NOT understand why Paul

I do NOT understand why Paul is not better informed by his campaign before doing these interviews. The twitter question (referring to long interview below) made him seem not very good. Second, I thought it was disgraceful for anyone from the campaign to send that tweet out. They should be fired because the havoc they have caused.

Paul already has enough to deal with when it comes to controversy and attacks. We don't need some idiot sending gloating and sarcastic remarks out like some bully high school kid.

I don't care if you give me thumbs down. What's right is right.

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...
