Help Ron Paul Win Puerto Rico (23 Delegates) & Also other Territories

Puerto Rico only has about 200 people that vote in the gop primary/caucus there and give 23 delegates

Guam: 6 delegates

McCain and Huck both split it with around 1,000 votes last time

Virgin Islands: 6 delegates

McCain got the most votes: just over 100

American Samoa: 9 Delegates

Votes unknown

Northern Mariana Islands: 9 Delegates

McCain won with 105 votes

Total of 30 delegates.....folks, that more than Iowa, and were only talking about a couple hundred people voting in each election.....

no other campaign is working to win those territories. can we get brochures or something to these places?

I have $500 to donate to the chipin for the effort!

Hopefully Eric and the superbrochure team will jump on this ASAP.

An idea whose time has come can not be stopped by any army or government-- Ron Paul 2012

Definitely worth doing

There's a Northern Mariana Islands for Ron Paul 2012 Facebook group here:

Join the Music Bomb! Be sure to invite all your friends so we can get Ron Paul's name to the top of the charts AND raise a lot of money for his campaign at the same time!

Also, here's one for Guam: http://www.facebook.com/RP2012GU

I think it makes sense

to try to pick up these delegates with a real effort.
They are under the radar, probably being mostly ignored, and they add up to as much a some states, in terms of delegate count.

I say it's worth it.

Courtesy Bumb

That's 53 FREE delegates that nobody's paying attention to. That would offset Florida should Romney sweep that one. If there's anyone from these territories or knows somewhere there, get to work, pretty please ^_^

Yeah we need this ASAP! I

Yeah we need this ASAP! I don't want a brokered convention. I want him to win the nomination guys.

A condensed/tailored super brochure effort?

Would it be worth seeking endorsements from prominent figures in those territories? Or should we just blanket the areas with literature? I don't know what the shipping costs could be. Also, do lists of super voters exist for those areas as they do in the states? Off to the google for me...

governor of Puerto Rico

Someone posted this on DP a couple weeks ago re Governor of Puerto Rico

Luis Fortuno

http://www.newsmax.com/RonaldKessler/LuisFortuno-puerto-rico...

His economic policies of cutting spending are very conservative, and he's been having some success bringing the deficit down. He talks about how you can't just print money to cover the deficit, and the need to empower taxpayers and businesses.

The people voted him in... so hopefully they are ready for Ron Paul's message!

We have a warning from a PR resident

at the bottom of this thread that the incumbent establishment there is very corrupt.
I think this is likely, since everybody else in the GOP establishment is very corrupt.

Avoid alerting the enemy establishment camp.
Do it on our own. We don't need the establishment governor who is probably in the pocket of one of our opponents.

Possible endorsement?

I know nothing about the guy, but maybe a few thousand letters/emails could convince him to endorse?

The first address seems to be his PO box for receiving mail, and the second is his office location. I'm not sure why the phone numbers are different, but this is the best I've found so far.

Guys i am trying to win over john because he is an activist and does have many locals listening to him. can we get an email campaign and facebook message him to get him to help us? can you guys spare a few minutes to do so? he ran for U.S Delegate in 2008 and got 1855 votes but lost. If we can get a few hundred to show up to vote for Ron we win!!

John "Bolis" Gonzales (born ?) is a Northern Mariana Islander activist and talk show host.[1] Gonzales hosts and produces a local talk show, "John Gonzales Live,"[1] which is broadcast to viewers in the Northern Mariana Islands and Guam.

Do you have an email?

I looked on the Facebook and wiki but did not see one. I'd love to email the guy, and maybe put his name on a list for all DP members to email as well. I'd really like to reach these voters and delegates, and this seems like a great way.

Guam

I have a friend in Guam I would like to alert about this -
is there anyone there I can try to put her in touch with?

need some help here...Virgin Islands,Guam, PR

in these small but important places every little bit helps. nobody has posted anything at all in CL...let's fill them up with good stuff.

One concern

The Super Brochures should be tailored for these voters. I'm not sure what issues the electorate there are concerned of, but i just want to make sure nothing there about hot issues such as immigration come across negatively?

We don't really care about inmigration issues

Because most of latin america is jealous that we are US citizens. For PR GOP what matters is statehood, military service is big and crime reduction. That is what will get you the votes. So we only need to more than 200part to vote for Ron Paul and we win?

yes that's all it will take.

yes that's all it will take. we can get more bang for the buck blanketing ads in these territories than trying to compete in florida or south carolina, and we'd be the only campaign there

My grade school addition totals 59 Delegates (in 2008).

Three district delegates for each member of the United States House of Representatives from each state; twenty from Puerto Rico, and six each from American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Thus,
Puerto Rico 23
American Samoa 9
Guam 9
Northern Mariana Islands 9
U.S. Virgin Islands 9

big bump

If this info is correct, we can definitely take those elections and those delegates.

Spanish/French Teacher Here

I can give it a shot. What I'll do is translate the text into Spanish and then send back to the Super Brochure people.

I guess I could do it in French as well just to have it in French if we need it.

Crazy!!

I was thinking the EXACT SAME THING as your post the other day... but, I say we do it stealth, hush-hush.. No need to advertise that we're going to bomb this area up.. Any Daily Paulers from that area? Those delegates need to show up at the RNC...

Let's get on it...

Like fine flakes of gold... Once you've got 1140 of them you've got something to cash in.
