Who is Michael Berry and why have I never heard of him until today?

My best friend in Houston, Texas emailed me a YouTube clip of a Texas talk show host named, Michael Berry. I had never heard of this guy...he was awesome, here is a clip from yesterday's show about Santorum. Give him a listen, I think you will like what you hear, I did and I thought he had a fun Texas accent!:)

Enjoy! The clip is about 10 minutes long, but very inspiring on the foreign policy issues that many in the GOP seem to get hung-up on in supporting Ron Paul.

Don't make it us against the

Don't make it us against the world!

We always need to be encouraging for people to come around. Somebody that is this close, just might soon support Ron Paul publicly. Shunning him for some past discretions is a bad idea. There are very few people out there who are perfect. I wouldn't pander to him or give him false praise, but don't be closed to the idea that he might jump on board. Don't burn bridges.

Be positive and be supportive to attract more people.

He ain't perfect

But he's damned interesting to listen to. He says you don't have to agree with him, just open up your brain a little! He's one of the few I can listen to, since Rush-Bo-Beck-ity-savages are all freakin' closed minded jerks.

Haven't changed my mind

I am not singing the praises of Michael Berry, by some of your comments, he may have some shortcomings and may not even support Ron Paul. Regardless, I think his rhetoric on foreign policy in this audio clip is still awesome and definitely worth a listen. His message is spot on! If anyone sitting on the fence about Ron Paul because of foreign policy concerns hears this commentary, they may actually be influenced to get off the fence. I stand by my original post, this clip is awesome! Awesome in its attack on the GOP establishment view of foreign policy!

If he prefers Rick Perry, how

If he prefers Rick Perry, how's that helping Ron?

On todays show

He said if he haid to vote today he would vote #1 Rick Perry, and #2 Ron Paul... So i guess his endorsement will come after Perry drops out. HE HATES Romney and Santorum.

Perry?!

I find it very interesting after listening to the clip above that someone who has such strong convictions about some of the issues he expresses so well could vote for Perry ahead of RP. This would seem to jive with what someone else mentioned regarding Michael Berry politically ambushing Debra Medina when she ran against Perry. I find this all very disappointing if true, because the clip to me is excellent in explaining a non-interventionist foreign policy and how America does not need to have a military empire to have a strong defense.

Look before you leap.

This guy is not someone I'd want to have associated with Ron.

"On May 26, 2010, regarding the Muslim community center proposed to be built near Ground Zero in NYC, Berry said on his program that if it was completed, "I hope that someone blows it up".[2] The following day, he expressed partial regret, issuing a statement which said in part, “I apologize to you, my listeners, for insulting your intelligence and saying something so stupid. I do not apologize, however, for my opinion that that mosque should not be built."[3]"

Lets show him some support

and maybe he will show Ron Paul more support. Just because Paul's from that area doesn't mean that Houston is sold on Paul. 4th largest city in the U.S. That's worth a lot of votes.

No offense but "Hell NO!"

This isn't the Michael Berry site anymore than its the Glen Beck, Dan Patrick, or Hannity site.

.

Good stuff. A definitely

Good stuff. A definitely worth the listen bump

It's hard not to be a menace to society when half the population is happy on their knees. - unknown

A little 5-second research

A little 5-second research before pledging goodwill to unknown people would go a long, long way toward keeping Ron's campaign from getting sidetracked by people who are not aligned with Ron's views.

This is the best place to do research!

If you listen to the clip, there is nothing but RP rhetoric presented...as for asking the DP community thier thoughts on the man, I can't think of any better place to do research. The message in that clip is solid Ron Paul...if you want to kill the messenger that is your perogative.:) I can't think Michael Berry did anything but help the Ron Paul campaign by presenting a brilliant piece on foreign policy the perfectly lines up with Ron Paul ideas...especially when you consider this is an area in which many in the GOP are most resistant and are most troubled when it comes to Ron Paul and I really don't see how his stated opionions on foreign policy would do much to help the campaign of Rick Perry.

This is not the best place to

This is not the best place to research Michael Barry obviously, because neither you, nor anyone else had really checked into the man's background before posting unabashed support for him.

He sounds like your typical jingoistic anti-Muslim rah-rah neo-con. These guys are a dime a dozen and only know bits and pieces about what Libertarianism is about, what Ron is about and what this election is about (here's a hint... it's not just about replacing Obama with any old flavor-of-the-month Republican).

Hardly "Unabashed" Support

What I posted was hardly "unabashed" support for Michael Berry. The clip I posted was good on the topic on which he spoke and it could just have easily come out of the mouth of a Ron Paul supporter or Ron Paul himself. I am not going to apologize for looking at the message before the messenger, Michael's message in that clip was right on target...that is what we are working so hard for in the Ron Paul camp...so people will look at message! No, I am not endorsing Michael, I was endorsing his message in that clip. I do thank those who gave me insight into more than just the clip above to make me aware of possible pitfalls.

Warning! I believe he played Twilight Zone Music on Debra Medina

Debra Medina is RON PAUL, worked for him and ran against Rick Prick Perry in 2010.

I remember hearing him calling Debra loony while playing twilight zone music in the background on his show as I drove to a Medina event in Cleveland, Texas.

DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY (unless you trust Glenn Beck).

Oh, and don't trust Glenn Beck.

.

Interesting!

Hmmm...very interesting! I liked Debra Medina and you are so correct about Glenn Beck, I saw how he sabotaged her! I don't trust Glenn Beck! I wonder if Michael Berry has had a change of heart since then? I may need to hear more from this guy before I formulate a complete opionion, but I do like what he said in this clip. Thanks!

I listen to him too but he's

I listen to him too but he's neocon iirc. It sounds like the guy turned 180 degrees

180 like Glen Beck, 360 tomorrow.

DONT TRUST HIM!

.

Hadn't heard of him either,

but it sounds like he's warming up to us. Do you think he'll endorse Paul? Just think how that could help his ratings!!!

If he endorses Ron Paul, I will become a loyal listener, just like Jerry Doyle.

John F

We can only hope!:)

It would be great if he endorsed RP, but at least he seems to be spreading some sound ideas on important issues.

I Listen To Him All The Time

I live in Cypress, Texas (which is pretty close to Houston) and I listen to him quite a bit. He's a pretty open guy and tends to be pretty respectful of people's views even when he goes and debates with them.

I also remember him saying that he lined up with Ron Paul on more issues than Rick Perry back when Perry was the flavor of the month, though he also said that he felt that Ron may be more interested in spreading his ideas in the race than actually winning.

However, that was back in August or September, so odds are that now that the field has narrowed he's become more hospitable to Ron. I also haven't listened to him since the caucuses so I don't know how he interpreted it, but I know he doesn't like Romney and evidently he's not a Santorum fan, so that bodes well for his opinion of Ron I suppose.

You know, Tom, you must be the thinnest skinned guy in America, because if you think that's a confrontational tone, then you should really see me when I'm pissed."

Thanks!

Thanks for the insight, I haven't heard anything else by him except for the above clip. I've got to think he's in the Ron Paul camp, even if he hasn't said it directly, but I suppose he could also be behind Gary Johnson.

You're Probably Correct

By the sound of the clip he's very much in the Ron Paul camp. He doesn't like Romney, he obviously doesn't like Santorum from what the clip shows, I believe I remember him saying he saw Gingrich as just another big government Republican, and he doesn't seem to care for the rest of the field much, so he seems to be left with Ron Paul.

I don't know if he'll go as far as to endorse him, but he might. He's obviously very sympathetic to Libertarian principles and he espoused several of Ron's talking points during the clip, so he could go as far as to back Paul if he feels he can really help him against Romney (because we all know that's who it'll be down to - Ron and Mittens).

You know, Tom, you must be the thinnest skinned guy in America, because if you think that's a confrontational tone, then you should really see me when I'm pissed."

BUMP!
